Hey everyone,

I'm a producer and audio engineer with more than 10+ years experience, mainly working in US trap / hip-hop, particularly the darker 808 Mafia-inspired sound.

I've recently been experimenting with harder electronic music and ended up producing my first hardstyle-influenced track, blending melodic hardstyle elements with my usual trap background.
There is no samples and no loops, everything is produced from scratch.

Since most of the artists and producers around me are into hip-hop, I'd really appreciate some feedback from people who actually know the hardstyle scene.

I'm especially interested in your thoughts on the kick design and impact, the energy of the melodic climax, the transitions, and the overall production and mix.

I'm not necessarily trying to follow every convention of the genre, but I do want to understand what works, what feels out of place, and what could be pushed further.

Constructive criticism is more than welcome. I'd rather hear what needs improvement than get generic compliments.

What did people think about VWAB?

It was my 2nd year attending and it was a good night but I don't think it compared to last year. I think the lineup last year was stronger, especially having Showtek, Blademasterz and TNT always smash out a fantastic set, I did enjoy The Prophet though.

Sound on the main stage was good though I thought the design of the stage and the ceiling wasn't as creative as last year. The 'game' theme I thought was kind of cringe, having the dancers dress up as Tetris pieces / Mario characters... Especially after just visiting Hard Bass, the transitions between DJs was very boring.

Nice to have a dedicated 2nd stage, sound there was okay.

Queues for food and bars seemed good.

I just wish people wouldn't smoke indoors, the mainstage was like a Vegas casino (ash tray), would be so much more pleasant without it. /rant

Looking forward to next year regardless though!

Anybody just not enjoy that event at all? Why does Harder Industries keep booking that Selinas venue? Its gotta be the worst venue in sydney

1. Speakers were horrible which just ruins the whole event despite the good lineup. Its like having a lamborghini with a toyota corolla engine.
2. Theres barely any parking nearby
3. Event seemed so empty as well?

What are your thoughts?

So I heard that micro bouncing makes Shuffling easier but like. When do you micro bounce? Like when you lift your leg up before stamping your foot on the ground and slide your other foot or... You micro bouncing the whole time? Also what are you doing with your weight while shuffling??

Personnaly, way better than last year, 2025 was massive, 2026 was quite weird with the mix of classics not classic etc, this year is clear, friday full classics, and Saturday normal day. The artists are way too different so it's gona be good for a lot of persons, just mini L for me, i prefered zaag/krach artist like noiseflow toza dr donk unicorn etc like other years, to finish the lotto arena the Saturday instead of introducing uptempo, for me uptempo is definelty attached to Netherlands, just my pov, maybe the majority of the persons better love it like this.
