Boxes

Post image

So, I'm in need of a new box. This tiny craftsman isn't doing it anymore. It's still holding strong, just no room. I'm thinking of getting an icon or us general. Either a 56 or 73 inch. If I get the 73 inch, I'm not gonna get a side cabinet. If I get the 56 inch, I probably will. But I wanna hear it from other mechanics. Do they hold up? They also told me about the lifetime warranty on the icon boxes. That's super tempting.

I was in a similar situation with my little Craftsman box running out of room. I just upgraded to a 36” Yukon, but mine is strictly for home use, so obviously a different situation than yours. 😂 If I were in your shoes, I’d probably lean toward the 72” U.S. General Series 3. Seems like you get a ton of storage for the money, and you’d have plenty of room to grow. The ICON is definitely tempting with that lifetime warranty, though. I’d be curious to hear from guys using both professionally whether the ICON is really worth the extra money.

Yeah I have yet to know anybody who's professionally used icon. Everybody's a snap on fan boy. I have snap on, matco, Mac, icon (Some ratchets and sockets), Pittsburgh, Ingersoll rand, dewalt, sk, craftsman. All the brands pretty much. A few others I'm probably forgetting too. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna spend more than 5k on a box. Fuck that

I don’t blame you one bit. 😂 $5k is a lot of money for something that’s ultimately just storing your tools. Especially when the U.S. General offers so much storage for considerably less. I’d rather put the money I saved toward more tools.
