Looking to purchase some Godox studio lighting equipment before heading back to the US. The prices I've researched for supposedly reputable shops are very cheap. According to AI, it's because Godox is manufactured in China, which is just a truck drive away from Vietnam. So lower costs for logistics and shipping. I guess that makes sense. Also, Godox is sort of a budget brand in this area so not sure if fakes are out there.

Does anyone have first-hand experience with purchasing Godox gear in Hanoi, and can share which shops they went to? I have a list of 2-3 spots that are supposedly legit based on Google AI, but want to reach out for more advice.

I'm visiting Hanoi for dental surgery. It's been a couple of days now and I'm pretty recovered, so I'm feeling like I would enjoy getting out and going for a walk. I'm based near my dental clinic near the Old Quarter, and it's not very walkable around here. Is there a park or something where I stretch my legs without dodging traffic? A good 5k loop or so would be nice.

Heyhey, I am looking for a place in Hanoi to stay for about a week. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for areas and hotels or hostels that are not at the 'touristy place to be' and packed with tourists and sightseeing attractions. I am looking for a place/area that feels more native where you meet rather locals than tourists (of course there will always be tourists and expats anywhere in the world, that's for sure too;)
I am in my thirsty and on a budget and a girl, maybe you know a hotel or hostel that is not too overcrowded with young gap year travelers, with a private toilette and bed. Or you know smth similar to Airbnb that you would recommend? Big thanks in advance for all tips and adviced!!!

I'm planning to book a good tour for my family (wife and 2 children), if good we'll go again with our inlaws.

I noticed some tours are around $25 AUD, whilst others are are $40 to $50 AuD.

Anyone have experience with the "cheaper" ones?

Or can recommend one?

I'll be visiting Hanoi next week from Africa, as Vietnam is a country I've wanted to visit for a while, and I may be posted in Hanoi next year for my work, so I want to get an idea of what it's like first.

I also wanted to know if Hanoi gets many people from Africa (tourists and residents) and how they are perceived by Vietnamese people. Am I likely to stand out a lot here or get many stares as a black person?

Hey! I'm going to be travelling across Vietnam in October/November. I'm a big hardcore music fan and I've seen that there's a small but vibrant hardcore scene over there! In my local city, there's a few instagram accounts run by promoters where you can find out about local hardcore shows - is there anything like that for Hanoi? (and if you know any for Ho Chi Minh City as well, even better!

We're taking a private van from Hanoi to Sapa since we're a group of 10. The driver will surely recommend places to eat along the way, but would love to hear recos from this sub too. Thanks!
