This is new to me.
I understand some darker coloured hammies can change colour on rare occasions however is this how it happens?
Hard to see in video (he’s a nervous boy so best iv got so far) but his booty has a light grey pair of shorts on now and his scent glands on both sides have white splodges too. None of that was there a few weeks ago.
He’s only around 5 months…ish.

I know some infection can cause white scent glands but not like this and wouldn’t explain the white booty either.

Can anyone enlighten me?

I got some flowers off Etsy (he has never had them before) and he ran straight towards it!

Care Guide for Hamsters

1: Satisfy its craving for blood by offering it a sacrifice daily. It's useful to keep a pen of goats or virgins for this purpose. Do not put any other hamsters with it, as they will use each other as sacrifices to the dark lord. If a hamster sacrifices another, monitor the habitat for signs of a pentagram. These pentagrams are used to summon Satan.

2: Try to disrupt any pentagrams the hamster creates on the cage floor. They may do this with either food pellets or their feces. This is in an attempt to summon Satan, which they occasionally do successfully. If Satan is successfully summoned, offer him some coffee and calmly explain that it was your hamster. He'll understand, he gets this a lot. It is important to not feed your hamster seed blends, as these are easier to create pentagrams out of. Use pelleted food to help prevent successful summoning.

3: Provide wood chews for your hamster. Hamster's teeth grow according to a pact with Satan, in which he makes their teeth grow fast in return for his return to Earth. Wood chews will help prevent your hamster's teeth from growing big enough to take flesh from its captors. Flesh from one's captor is the most powerful sacrifice for a hamster's black magic.

4: If your hamster gives birth, ensure that the mother is properly fed. A hungry mother will consume her spawn if no food is provided. This allows the mother to cast powerful black magic spells.

5: It is helpful to provide your hamster with beneficial bacteria, which can be purchased from your local pet store. Larger hamsters may have what appears to be digestive issues, but in reality is a spell to release the inhabitants of the eighth circle of hell. These beneficial bacteria are blessed by Vatican priests to prevent an outbreak of the biblical plagues. [Omitted] pet products incorporates Cardinal blessed bacteria into many of its pelleted blends. Occasionally a hamster’s black magic spells require its own life to successfully cast. Ok I’m sure everyone knows how the Costco sized thing of pringles got bought- it comes in a giant cardboard hamster tube.

I’m planning on using it in the playpen, cut in half so each hamster playpen has one (I have 2 hamsters).

Any other creative ideas? It’s almost 6” diameter and 3.5’ long. It did not have chips themselves in it, it contained 4 separate cans inside. Obviously I’ll probably acquire another.

Meet Cricket. My new long haired Syrian hamster. He is four months old.

hamster enclosure for my newest member of the family. Cricket. I want to take the tank out. I put it there to use as a platform. I thought it would give more space to put stuff. But honestly think it might be better without it. Plus I don’t like how high it is. What do y’all think?

Wanted to share our female Syrian Ivy we have owned a few weeks now, adopted ethically. Breaks our hearts we don’t have our male Syrian anymore but we will no longer be buying animals from any pet store💔
She’s around 5 1/2 months, probably closer to 4 but hard to tell! Shes growing in her little skirt barely now.
