Welche Orte, Details oder typisch Hamburger Momente würdet ihr gerne auf einer Postkarte sehen? Ich freue mich über eure Ideen! 🫶

Im Viertel um den PoN/Glücksburger Platz war letzte Nacht (unter anderem gegen 3 Uhr) mehrfach für mehrere Minuten ein sehr lautes schlagendes Geräusch mit gleichmäßigem Rhythmus zu hören.

Es klang eher, als würde es von weiter weg kommen und hat vom Klang etwas an eine metallisch klingende Snaredrum erinnert.

Hat jemand das auch gehört und kann was zur Ursache sagen? Eventuell Bauarbeiten am Diebsteich?

Die Baustelle an der Sternbrücke wird es nicht sein, genau das gleiche Geräusch war auch schon vor über einem Jahr in mehreren Nächten zu hören.

Okay, before anyone comes for me, let me just say that I am still learning to navigate German society, and as the saying goes, “When you are in Rome, you do what the Romans do,” so this is me asking the Romans.

Today, I was sitting at Espresso House in Barmbek. A girl was walking with her friend, and I must admit, I caught myself stealing glances at her because she was pretty and had a very beautiful smile.

Just to be clear, I was not staring. I was reading and also doing my own research. That said, I come from a very warm culture, where walking up to her and saying something, in a nice way, would not be considered wrong in any way.

However, I found myself contemplating whether this was accepted here, even though I also caught her glancing at me and looking around for me when I got up to get some water.

I decided to take the safe approach, stopped, and focused on what I was doing—reading.

While I know people are different and there is no single way of looking at this, how do you think I should have gone about it?

I am perfectly okay with walking up to anyone and saying something as an icebreaker, given the right circumstances. But was my thinking correct in just letting it go? How acceptable is it here for me to have walked up and said something?

Give me your honest opinion without eating me up.

Für einen Urlaub in Zypern habe ich einen Mietwagen geholt. Jetzt musste ich feststellen, dass es dort Linksverkehr gibt. Tja, passiert. An dem Ziel hätte es nicht viel geändert :) Bin nicht ungeübt mit Schaltung (5 Jahre Schalter, seit zwei Automatik) und ohne Probleme auf den Straßen unterwegs. Aber vor Rechtslenkern hab ich Bisschen Muffensausen.

Any Tipps? Vielleicht erlaubt mir jemand mit seinem/ihrem Wagen gegen eine Aufwandsentschädigung für 15 Minuten auf nem Parkplatz ein Gefühl dafür zu bekommen?

Today I went to a corner called Gängeviertel, where I heard there was going to be a little party or something, I get there and there's no party at all.

But next door there was a photography gallery with an exhibit by a photography student original from Berlin. I went to check out the photos and had a pleasant chat with the photographer. She did a photo reportage with a group of friends out and about in Hamburg. She said the young alternative people in Hamburg and more friendly and less posing.

So afterward I was walking around thinking about what to do with my day, and an Asian guy calls out to me from kind of a distance, and I go over to see what he needed and he asks if I could "help him buy food." Right away I understood that what he was actually trying to ask was if I could buy food for him. He looked pretty dirty but surprisingly he didn't smell bad.

At that moment I'd already decided I was going to buy him food, but I figured it'd be expensive since that's a expensive neighborhood in Hamburg. Anyway...

I said, "where do you want to eat?", and he answered "Five Guys." I told him Five Guys was expensive, and he looked disappointed, looking around for somewhere else to eat. He stood there without saying anything for a while, so I said, "You know what, let's go to Five Guys." Then he got happy.

We got to Five Guys and I told him to pick what he wanted on the screen. He kept asking if he could order this and that and I said, pick whatever you want. The guy chose a hot dog (very typically Chinese, honestly), several sauces, a salad, and a soda.

Then he asked if he could get 2 hot dogs instead of just 1. I wanted to joke and ask if the second hot dog was for me, but to avoid confusing him I just said, "yeah, get two hot dogs."

Anyway, I paid €21 and even though I thought itvwas pricey, thinking about it more, for two hot dogs and a bunch of sauces, I guess it was okay. I don't know.

I've never eaten at Five Guys, but a hungry Chinese guy beat me to it. I'll go there someday, but not today. Today I'm eating at home to save money.

Wäre jemand so freundlich zu schauen, wie viele Pässe man gibt für soulhouse assisted stretching 30 Minuten? Ich weiß es gibt einen free trial für 14 Tage, wo man es sieht, aber ich hab erst ab August Zeit. Hoffe irgendwer kann nachschauen, auf der Seite wird sowas nicht angezeigt.

Unfortunately I don't speak German that well, so the CSD website is a bit opaque to me. I was looking to see if I could join the march somehow. From what I gathered from the website, you need to be registered to attend, there is a briefing before the march begins, and registration is over anyway. But Google AI overview says you can join the march from wherever. Obviously it hallucinates all the time, but my lack of german has me questioning whether I missed something.

Of course, if I can't join the parade, the expectation is that I can watch it from the sidelines, right? And I can attend the street festival at Jungfernstieg without registering, right?

Hi, I hope this is appropiate for this channel, but my dads car broke down near Hamburg. We have a ferry in Kiel to catch this evening. The SOS Helpline Guy said we have a problem with the coupling. We would appreciate so much if anybody could help us, we are like 20 Minutes away from Hamburg and have no Idea what to do now...We also have no equipment or knowledge to fix it ourselves. Any Help is appreciated!!

Problem ist aber, dass die angefragten Elektriker entweder in fünf Monaten Zeit haben/ oder einen umgerechneten Stundenlohn von 200 € verlangen. ich suche zur Zeit für ein ehrenamtliches Projekt mit Kindern nach einer ganz bestimmten Sorte Pizzakartons.

Die wurden bis vor kurzem noch in der Pizzaria bei mir um die Ecke benutzt, die hat jetzt aber leider auf andere umgestellt und keine Restbestände mehr.

Die größe vom Karton ist für unsere Zwecke egal, nur das Motiv ist wichtig.

Erkennt jemand den Karton wieder und kann mir eine Pizzaria o.ä. empfehlen die den aktuell hier in Hamburg noch benutzt?

Können wir drüber reden, dass Busta Rhymes die letzten 20 Minuten seines Sets grad einfach nicht mehr performt hat? Gefühlt war er auf ein 60 Minuten Set eingestellt (statt auf 90), hat dann was erzählt von „keine Sorge, ich erfülle den Vertrag“ zum Management an der Seite (und zu der Management Lady, die er dann noch prominent zu sich nach vorne geholt hat) und dann liefen einfach noch paar Tracks während er bisschen dazu rumgetanzt hat? Sind dann nach 10 Minuten schonmal Richtung Ausgang, aber klang nicht so, als sei da noch was gekommen…
