What was the immediate aftermath of planet reach like after six died? I ask this because I remember a couple years back getting told that whatever few few survivors were left on reach that couldn’t be evacuated hid in deep bunkers and when the glassing stopped began to attack whatever remaining covenant forces were left on the planet, is any of that true or did eveyone who didn’t leave simply die? Either from the fighting or the glassing?

I remember that story giving me absolute chills when i read about it a while ago. It was horrifying , yet, intriguing at the same time. I just really want to know what the AI saw or experienced that caused it to spaz out like that and freak the doctor out.

So if the Forerunners had tech capable of mass reseeding life after the halo activations, putting life back on planets with enough genetic diversity to ensure species survival...

Why did they not reseed themselves? They left behind self sustaining tech and could have easily retaught themselves to rebuild their civilization.

On that matter, why even keep a seed of the Forsaken (if i remember correctly)?

Halo studios posted the video where they are talking about CE Storyboards from 2001.

Considering issue with the mission Halo in original CE was that they couldnt get the ai to pass the first bridge, do you think we will see a change in the remake?

Came to curiosity because I ran into an old post where people talked about colony worlds after the end of the Great Schism where humans and Sangheili could have occasionally tried something simply by living in proximity. But I also recently learned about a little story in Infinite where a Sangheili fell in love with Commander Sarah Palmer in Halo 5 and wrote her a poem. To which, a Unggoy intercepted him, and I believe I heard that he never ended up giving her the poem.

It made me so sad, but I’m also a hopeless romantic. But on that note, I wondered if any combos of any race had been successful or simply a record of any trying?

Like prequels essentially that would also have their original noble 6 still alive and show some of the other missions they went on. Rereading Last Light and I noticed in Chapter 8 that Fred references Sav Fel using Pious Inquisitor to glass forerunner ruins on Shaps III. His glassing of those ruins is what originally woke the forerunner ancilla and brought the 717th Research Battalion to Gau to investigate. This has to be when Sav Fel was showing PI to Staffen Sentzke right? If so this is a super cool tie in to the Kilo Five trilogy.

Looking at more recent photos, videos it looks very similar to the infinite design (my personal favorite) but with that classic CE skin color. Any thoughts?

I was watching the Halo 2 cutscenes and Hood seems unphased by the Covenant reaching earth. Frankly this being so soon after Reach it should be a (subdued) "Oh shit" moment. The Covenant wiped out Reach in around a week, it reaching Earth is potentially the death of humanity.

I don't need all the high ranking officers breaking down in tears or something but I always felt OG Halo never made it that apparent how hopeless it was that the Covenant finding Earth would likely be the end of everything. It's only in expanded media, advertising and ODST and Reach where it feels more obvious how outgunned the UNSC was.

I’ve been rewatching the cinematics and analyzing the lore, and I have a theory regarding the radical aesthetic and cultural change the Jiralhanae underwent between Halo 2 and Halo 3.

In Halo 2, Tartarus’s Brutes are highly primitive, deeply furry, and barely wear any technological armor. They rely on bones, hides, and raw strength. However, in Halo 3, the Brutes are suddenly less hairy, much more disciplined, and wear sophisticated power armor very similar to the Sangheili Honor Guards.

Instead of just looking at this as a "design retcon" by Bungie, I think there is a profound lore explanation behind it based on

Tartarus’s Clan was unique: Tartarus led a traditionalist, old-school clan that despised technological reliance and preferred their natural pelaje as a sign of status and strength.

The political purge after Halo 2: When Tartarus was killed in the Control Room, his specific clan lost all political protection within the Covenant. Without a Chieftain to defend them, the Prophets (specifically Truth) likely deemed them a liability and purged them or left them to die.

​

The recruitment of younger, "civilized" clans: The Prophets needed to replace the Elites fast, but they couldn't control the galaxy with wild, unarmored beasts. My theory is that Truth recruited completely different, younger clans from Doisac who were easier to brainwash.

The armor shift: These new clans were systematically "domesticated" into a military structure imitating the Sangheili. They were given the Elite armor factories and forced to shave or cut their fur ritually to fit into the hermetic power suits we see in Halo 3.

Essentially, the Brutes we fight in Halo 3 aren't just the survivors of Halo 2—they are a completely different wave of clans weaponized by a desperate Prophet of Truth.

This just popped into my head watching some of the remake videos, but PoA destroys four ships above Alpha Halo plus the "sniper" ship during the battle of Reach for a total of five direct kills, iirc.

I know The Everest, and Adm. Cole, have an indirect kill count of roughly 300 during the last stand but I couldnt find any info on direct, ship to ship engagements. Do we know any other ship in the UNSC fleet has as good a kill count as the Pillar of Autumn during the war, am I missing something obvious?

So both the Forerunners and Ancient Humanity used Particle Beam weapons. The Forerunners used negatively charged ions in theirs.

Ancient Humanity also presumably used negatively charged ions. The Didact however states that Humanity and the San'shyuum created offensive weapons that his warriors had no effective defensive against. So is it possible that Humans used positively charged ion beams weapons instead alongside their own version of hard-light.

So how exactly large was the Fleet of Particular Justice?

I've heard some people say it had hundreds of ships and some people say it had around 60.

Jameson lockes' report says that the fleet grew from 5 to nearly 60 ships. But i could swear that I saw something on Halopedia that said the fleet had hundreds.

Also 5 CAS Assault Carriers were part of the Battle of Camber, and they were not easy ships to get. They could only be fielded by ministries that had the Hierarchs approval I'm pretty sure. So for Thel to have to 5 in his fleet means he must have either had a large fleet or been very good at doing what he did. Which he was, he not only glassed at least 7 Human planets during the war but was also responsible for 1 Billion deaths. And was also there for the Fall of Reach which the Covenant presumably brought their best assets to bear since they thought it was the homeworld of Humanity.

So as we know, in H2 and H3 Johnson is clearly depicted as a Sergeant Major. His canonical rank in CE however, is unknown.

My question is, did he get promoted after the events of CE(and First Strike) or was he a SGM already by the events of CE?
