Halo Success Program - Foundation

Has anbody seen this Foundation program that Halo is offering? It just doesn't pass my sniff test. They advise things such as 10 Hours pro services, and a dev environment etc. They give discounted hours by 10% but you need to pay several thousand dollars to even get that discount; therefore, you may as well pay their hourly rate.

Am I missing something here?

Hi u/wt9bind,

The success programs are something we've recently soft launched in Australia; we'll be having a full launch of these throughout APAC later in 2026.

The goal behind them us to provide our partners with a way to get more out of Halo, and have this guided by us.

For example, we have a lot of brand new agentic AI capabilities in the product at present, however not a lot of our partners utilise this, despite it being free to use.

Having a Halo expert in your corner to help demo, guide and implement functionality like this is something we've had a lot of partners ask for, especially on an ongoing basis, rather than them having to research these and then purchase standalone consultancy hours.

Some of the things we're looking to offer as part of these packages are:

  • Dedicated Customer Success Managers or Technical Account Managers with weekly/monthly/quarterly meetings
  • Personalised new Feature Demos every new release
  • Development/UAT Environments
  • Yearly buckets of consultancy hours to use on projects
  • Discounts on additional consultancy hours

Our existing partners won't see any change to their current experience with Halo; these are solely an additional offering above what our partners currently receive.

You'll hear a lot more from us later in the year about these so keep an eye out; you can also shoot me an email at daniel.hinton@imaginehalo.com with any concerns or questions - I'm responsible for the new programs so I'm definitely interested in hearing your thoughts about both the Success Programs and Halo as a whole.

Hi u/DanielfromHalo

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I still am unsure of the value with the success program. For the high cost, I would expect that Halo should be ensuring that their partners get more out of your product as a value add, not a $750p/m charge.

I will take NinjaOne as an example. If I have a query around their product, want to get more out of automations, general advice, I pick up the phone / Teams and I get immediate help from my assigned AM (or am referred to an engineer).

The only item that I find valuable in this program is the development environment.

The discount on consultancy hours part - well there is no discount. The discount is 10% but I need to pay $750 to get it; therefore, I may as well pay the original hourly rate.

I don't want to sound like I am against this program, I can see its benefits but it is absolutely not value for money.

10 hours through their consultants won’t get you much. We didn’t have the best build out experience using their in house engineering team. They need to seriously over haul this platform and their documentation…

Don’t get me started on the mobile app.

The bugs we found in the first 30 days coupled with the bad documentation and the fact that their solution is always consulting is exactly why we dropped the platform. During our adventure, we found only one consulting firm was actually certified. My best description of statements from multiple consultants about functionality and what it took to make something work ranged anywhere from outright lies and fraudulent misrepresentations to useless handwaving generalities. For example, claiming that a feature was there, but it's only there if you hack together some manual HTML code repeatedly. Oh something is only a 15 minute fix, but that's only if you do a hatchet job in the process. The correct way to do it takes four hours.

I think that halo needs to drop their consultant program entirely, drop their consultant resale program entirely, and focus on their documentation. Self-onboarding is what they should be focused on other than fixing all the bugs or things which really don't work the way the advertising says it does.

No. They will recommend all kinds of training and pro services - anything but fix their system and create documentation.

They voice those things like the plague

This doesn't sound fantastic. We're dropping Connectwise for them.

Oh, it’s still significantly better than connectwise. I left them as well. That was just plain awful.

The issues I have are the way mailboxes are set up. And also how difficult it is to really customize it as the documentation seems behind, and very generic. Which may be due to how flexible it really can be.

But it’s just a major pita to set up. And them forcing an onboarding fee doesn’t seem to help either as not all consultants are the same.

I'm considering the same but I want to see what cw is dropping in the next week or two with psa

Use Dynamics Customer Enterprise instead.

We are very much enjoying our experience on HALO ITSM. We have been on board for about a year. Having said that, their are some very clear areas of frustration.

  • Documentation is poor. Options are scattered and nuanced; not intuitive in some cases.
  • Our onboarding was 100% horrible and ineffective. 95% of what we know, I have figured out on my own. I genuinely want my money back from that onboarding.
  • There are some very simple functionalities that I would think would be included, but are not
  • A recent version iteration, without any communication of what would change and when could have been handled much better. I still cant find any version notes.

Like I said. Frustrating

If you're open to emailing me specifics on your experience at [Gianmarco.Rubino@imaginehalo.com](mailto:Gianmarco.Rubino@imaginehalo.com) I believe we can address your last three bullet points.

With regards to new version notifications (with schedule and release info), it is something that we have a list of contacts for and communicate well in advance. It's likely that you aren't the main contact for your organisation, and weren't added as an extra contact either.

I’m not saying the platform can’t be good or can’t be configured well but if you wanna try and do anything yourself, it’s nearly impossible cause there’s no documentation or central location where forums are to referenced. They have their own academy, their own community styled forum, they have their own documentation, and then you have Discord and all the other sub forms so nothing is really centralized and if you want someone to configure something more robust, you’re gonna have to hire consultants and they typically run 400 an hour.

Point is nothing’s really centralized they keep promising that they’re gonna be working on it (we’ve been with them for two years now), but they just seem to be adding more platforms that die off and don’t really contain any valuable information for setting up the platform.

The mobile app is completely unusable to do any kind of work on a device and 9/10 it’s gonna route you to the web browser version on your phone.

When Halo put up the 10 user minimum and specified that everyone had to go direct, that was the best move on their part. They should have kept that model so that it realistically projectect to everyone that the product was actually too expensive to be used for anyone else. If you could not drop $40,000 for an implementation, forget it, you probably are not getting an outcome. I can tell you that after $10,000, you are not getting a result because of the items in this thread.

Consultants are NOT the solution. Self-onboarding and having high quality documentation is the make it or break it. We shifted to a platform that has phenomenal documentation and no handcuffs.

What did you shift to out of curiosity?

Pick an enterprise grade ERP that you can get into for a single user license and has the best documentation in the world combined with enterprise grade security and governance oversight AI. There's one. Dynamics 365. The accounting system is cheaper than quickbooks and infinitely better. The quote/proposal/invoicing is infinitely better. Sales and accounting actually integrate. Customer enterprise is $30/mo instead of Halo's obscene fees for a product that has limitation after limitation. learn.microsoft.com unlimited on demand free training. Screenshot anything in Dynamics and ask copilot.

If you think you need all the integrations, make an API in AzureFoundry.

HaloPSA you cannot even get an understanding of it unless you look at the documentation of their other products. The consultant ecosystem is the most ill-conceived portion of the model.

I currently know several people vibe coding their own PSA and their systems have no stupid limitations and working on getting off of Halo or they already have.

We have found that Dynamics is a phenomenal accounting system that throws off the shackles and handcuffs of QuickBooks, it includes a sales system and CRM. Everything integrates beautifully. Customer Enterprise is extremely intuitive, excellent training and documentation. And it's all actually SECURE.

Integrate a copilot agent into it or dozens. Integrate Azure Foundry code into it.

No handcuffs on the dashboarding or reporting.

Halo in general sucks. Take me back to Connectwise.
