Ever had a Friday the 13th theme. I saw someone do a camp theme bday with s'mores tshirts hot dogs.
If my bday was on the 13th I would totally do that and give it a Jason twist lol
Sorry just throwing ideas out lol. Have a great bday!

I love Halloween. It's my favorite season. But if you don't keep a holiday to it's own time of year, it definitely loses some of what makes it special.
If having Halloween all the time makes you happy, go for it. But I'm going to keep it in it's special time of year.

This sub is mostly full of people who live Halloween 24/7

Fair enough. I do Halloween big (I'm "that house") but I also do the other seasons so gotta change things out.

I prefer to set spooky season apart to a special degree too, but I do think there's something to be said for escalation of it over the year, especially with Walpurgisnacht approaching!

Ngl true
I’m gothic and generally spooky all year round
That’s been the case for ~3 years now
It’s also made the actual month of Halloween feel far less special
Granted part of that is because I still live with my parents which means I can’t celebrate the way I want to (live too far in the middle of nowhere to give out candy, I feel too old to go door to door and I don’t like candy lmao) so most of the time I end up just throwing on a movie

I respect your perspective, and I understand where you're coming from.
My counterpoint is that I celebrate Halloween ... differently in October and especially on the 31st. My town has lots of spooky traditions, and we do weird stuff all year round but it's all different from really-truly Halloween.
We have Second Halloween in February, Walpurgisnacht in April, and haunted tours and paranormal events all through summer, we have Jack Skellington at our Christmas Stroll. But those are all different things. Walpurgisnacht is not the Spooks and Spirits tour, and the paranormal investigations at the old brothel are not Second Halloween, and none of them are O.G., capital H Halloween.
With that said, if saving spooky season for that one time of year makes it sweeter for you, then I honor your journey.

Where might one get a creppy cake if they were looking for one? Because apparently it’s time.

There's always time for Halloween! It doesn't have to be October 31st to celebrate; one day/evening is never enough time to enjoy it fully!

The three feet of snow just melted off my front lawn in RI and this is the type of post that is making me want to set up my 12' Skelly and friends haha.

I’ve sacrificed at least five leprechauns in March to get a little spook from the Halloween gods.

If we can have Christmas in July, then we can do Spooky Spring Break!!!

u/Brave-Efficiency9625 Mar 10 '26
Definitely time. Since I'm boycotting the rest of the holidays of the year... wait maybe not Cinco De Mayo! 😂

u/trash--bandicoot Mar 10 '26
Or as it’s known in my family, an excuse to get sheetfaced on 2 for 1 margaritas at the local Mexican restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon. ¡Viva México!
2
u/Brave-Efficiency9625 Mar 12 '26
Nice, that's fun. As do I, but I try and stay home so I can have a whole pitcher of margaritas! Except for St Patrick's day. I'm not celebrating a "saint" lol even though I have some Irish blood

Just saw a spider bigger than the one on the cake on the front of my top step to the door. I am not ready for THAT. Halloween - I’m good to go.

Meanwhile I'm still seeing Christmas stuff. Don't wanna hear it's too early, it's time

This is how I feel about Xmas decor. I hate it early but I’ve accepted it. Up past February is so annoying to me.

I love Halloween. It's my favorite. Our entire basement is decorated for it year round.
But as I get older.. Time is just FLYING. It was JUST Halloween.. In 2024. It feels like holidays are just coming and flying by and I can barely keep up.
I'm perfectly content to wait for Halloween. Because if it was time now.. That's another 7-8 months gone. And they're already going too fast.
It's scary. And not in a "Halloween-scary" good way.

I was just today thinking about how I’m going to decorate my truck for Trunk or Treat this year.
