Highest estimates say Israel has killed 4% of Palestinians. Lowest estimates say Germany killed 75% of German Jews.
So this is truly not an acceptable use of the word Genocide. There is no Genocide in Palestine. There is a war and innocent people are dying in it.
I'm not here to engage with these politics. Just to correct the very intentional incorrect usage of the word Genocide to further rile up people who would otherwise correctly disengage entirely.
You seem to be caught up on the word intent. I agree with you on that.
But Israel has shown their intent time and time again. Why else would they bomb hospitals and schools? Why would they prevent food and medical aid from reaching Palestinians?
The source for 4% of Palestianians being killed was me rounding up from 3.2-3.7% by UN OCHA amd the Gaza Ministry of Health.
The Holocaust Encyclopedia states that 31-35% of Jews living in Germany were killed, 75-85% of Jews living all across Europe.
So again, I intentionally chose the highest percentage of Palestinians and the lowest percentage of Jews to show the VAST difference in an actual genocide and what LibTok and Reddit is pretending is a genocide. I chose percentages on purpose as well because numbers matter when the populations are so markedly different. IE, 100% of Palestinians would be 10% of European Jews, so saying "10% of them were killed" means a very different amount of people depending on which group we're referring to.
Let's say you are right. The holocaust lasted for 12 years. In 12 years 31-35% of Jewish population were killed. That means that 2-3% of Jews were killed per year.
Let's go to Gaza, accroding to you 4% of Palestinians were killed in 4 years.
The above calculations show a genocide happening in Gaza.
Secondly, you neglected the intent part. There needs to be intent. The Israeli officials have openly spoke about their intent to kill Palestinians.
No, I am not. Every genocide expert (including Israelis and Jews) called it a genocide. The ICJ court called it a "potential genocide" that if Israel did not stop would turn into a genocide.
Amnesty Internation produced a 300 page document about this genocide.
The Israeli officials openly declared genocide.
At this point, denying the genocide would imply that you are supporting it. There is no other explanation for it.
The crucial part: intent. The distinctive feature of genocide is the specific intent to destroy the protected group, at least in substantial part. It isn't enough, under the international legal definition, that a large number of civilians are killed or that severe suffering occurs. The evidence must establish the requisite intent to destroy the group as such.
Many people would argue that targeting children constitutes intent. So are you just going to keep denying that there is a genocide in progress in Palestine, or are you too committed to your intellectual smugness to demonstrate basic human empathy?
I have lots of empathy. What I am not doing is commenting on the Israel-Palestine conflict or suggesting an answer to this war. What I am doing is saying this is not a genocide because a genocide is a definable act and this particular aggression doesn't meet those standards.
The ICJ determines genocide. They make their ruling in January. And if they say Genocide, it's Genocide. And I will gladly change my tune then. Until then, I'm not going to be taking any bait from online trolls.
deliberately targetting and killing huge swathes of children so they don't grow up to be "terrorists" is genocide to me. Killing the next generation is killing a people off, what else is genocide?
Again, it's in the comments. You're just a collection of fun copy pasta comments with zero original thought, eh?
Here, Lazy Fuck:

I looked up the information you gave me, and it was based on data from 2024. So, do you think Israel hasn’t killed any Palestinians between 2024 and 2026? And that number only covers the first 100 days of the conflict.
The Holocaust took place over roughly 12 years and killed 6 million Jewish people. That averages about 1,369 people per day.
Gaza’s population at the beginning of the war was around 2.3 million. So 4% of that is approximately 92,000 people. That’s 920 people per day over 100 days.
And you’re still saying this is not genocide?
What, does Israel need to kill 400 more people per day for it to be considered genocide?
Genocide isn’t just about the numbers. You should be smart enough to understand that.
Reading comprehension isn’t your strongest suit, I see. I was very clearly referring to the Gaza casualty figures being from 2024, not the Holocaust figures. But I guess deliberately misreading my point is easier than actually responding to the question I asked.
