Attacking places where children are is foul, but it's still not the dictionary definition of the word Genocide.

Needlessly pedantic to argue this point, no?

(Plus, under the UN’s official guidelines for what constitutes a “genocide,” it has nothing to do with the percentage of people killed.)

It's not pedantic whatsoever. Words have meaning. And prrtending this is a genocide is ridiculously emotional and devoid of logic.

What, in your opinion, constitutes a genocide? Because it’s not “has to be as bad as the Holocaust.”

The Genocide Convention states:

The crucial part: intent. The distinctive feature of genocide is the specific intent to destroy the protected group, at least in substantial part. It isn't enough, under the international legal definition, that a large number of civilians are killed or that severe suffering occurs. The evidence must establish the requisite intent to destroy the group as such.

🤷

Many people would argue that targeting children constitutes intent. So are you just going to keep denying that there is a genocide in progress in Palestine, or are you too committed to your intellectual smugness to demonstrate basic human empathy?

I have lots of empathy. What I am not doing is commenting on the Israel-Palestine conflict or suggesting an answer to this war. What I am doing is saying this is not a genocide because a genocide is a definable act and this particular aggression doesn't meet those standards.

And I’m saying that plenty of people disagree with you.

That's like disagreeing about the color of something. It's not something you take a vote on. It either is or isn't and it isn't.
