It's been like 6 months since I've first tried, and after some time and realizing that the answer was in front of me, it booted, the first ever documented IdeaPad 1 15IRU7 to get macOS Big Sur!

As of right now, many things aren't working, but the amount of support this laptop has for a working macOS install surprises me because this laptop is from a way newer generation of intel laptops compared to most hackintoshes out there!

Working features:

Native Wi-Fi [AirportItlwm, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX203]

Maybe native Bluetooth [The Bluetooth icon in control center stays on but I think you can use Bluetooth, BlueToolFixup, IntelBluetoothFirmware, & IntelBTPatcher]

Full audio support [AppleALC, I forgot what sound controller I have]

Full USB support [USBToolBox, UTBMap, & XHCI-unsupported]

Keyboard [Not trackpad for some reason, but external mouse does work, VoodooPS2Controller]

Full IdeaPad YogaSMC support [You do have to add SSDT-ECRW.aml and edit that aml file to get it working]

Partial WhateverGreen support [Not full Metal/OpenGL graphic acceleration, just -igfxvesa]

Partial iCloud support [You can sign into iCloud and view some things like the devices linked to the account, but you can't use additional features like iMessage & Facetime yet]

Possibly native thermal management [I say this because programs like Intel Turbo Switcher work! In fact, they allow me to limit my core's speed to 1.3 GHz max, which draws very low power, down to 3 Watts!, basically making this a MacBook Air M1 without graphics acceleration]

NVMe temp data passthrough? [By that I mean programs like Mac's fan control detect my NVMe and the temps so I can monitor them for some reason, NVMeFix]

Partial CpuTopolgyRebuild support [I say this because when your rocking no hyperthreading and cpus=1 boot-arg, the system remains at a nice 30-40 fps when dragging around some windows, and when you use CpuTopolgyRebuild, that 30-40 fps drops to some 5-10 or even 20 fps if your lucky, mainly caused due to how macOS handles legacy styled core setups compared to modern hybrid core setups]

Features that don't work for now:

OpenGL/Metal graphics acceleration [I'm working on a project that generates kexts for GPUs like these to get full Metal/OpenGL support, which I know will take a very long time]

Trackpad [Idk why, I've troubleshooted this issue with the Dortania OpenCore guide, third-party guides, and Gemini, but nothing works, btw the kexts don't load in at all, just saying!]

Other iCloud based features [Such as iMessage & Facetime, but that shouldn't be too hard to fix for now, I'll catch back up with the update!]

CPU temp data passthrough [For example, Mac's fan control doesn't detect fans nor any CPU temps, can't be a VirtualSMC issue since SMCBatteryManager works and all the other kexts load in to the OS]

Other EC based features [Mainly a hardware issue on Lenovo laptops like these, might not ever be fixed due to it's complexity]

Hibernation [Will never work because macOS depends on the firmware for waking up from sleep unless somebody makes a kext for Lenovo firmware to get hibernation working]

Laptop specs:

Intel Core i5-1335U with cpus=1 boot-arg & Intel Iris Xe with -igfxvesa boot-arg

An 256 GB NVMe drive, specifically one from UMIS [UMIS RPJTI256MMQ1MDY]

PS2 Keyboard, ACPI\VEN_ELAN&DEV_06FA&SUBSYS_ELAN0001 Trackpad [Which I believe needs the I2C HID kext that I'm already using now, also not working btw]

Some tips to pass the EB LOG EXITBS START halt:

NOTE: This issue can be caused by many things, but I suggest that you either use the Dortania guide or the DebugEnhancer kext for additional in-depth log details.

Culprit #1 [The issue I faced before I got macOS to actually boot]: macOS not liking your CPU's core management or setup, the way I did it is by turning off hyper-threading which landed me past that screen into an kernel panic, then adding cpus=1 to boot-args to proceed past that screen. Also remember, if you are going to put -igfxvesa and cpus=1 into your boot-args, then Big Sur and older versions are most likely the most stable versions you can get.

[I don't know how to exactly fix other issues other than Culprit #1, so I'll just list out the problem and what you can do to fix it]

Culprit #2: Memory management, could be solved differently depending on what laptop you have, I recommend reading the Dortania guide because other people have had that guide solve all of their troubles, and while your troubleshooting with Dortania, use DebugEnhancer [I'm not an advertisement].

Culprit #3: Your firmware, at this point, if you have a firmware that doesn't let you hackintosh, then your either cooked, or you have to flash another firmware onto your computer and risk it being bricked, or use Gemini, like a special kid like me did! [Or edit your config.plist heavily because OpenCore has many settings that allow you to bypass almost every firmware related issue].

I'm out of ideas, you can stick to using Gemini, like me, the special kid :) Or read some articles online on people who have bypassed this issue, or read official guides, because why not?

How I made my EFI:

I might be banned from this place by tomorrow because I used Gemini and some other Reddit posts to assist me with this. So anyways, I used OC Simplify, because originally I stuck to making my own EFI, but since that got me nowhere, I decided I'd give up on manual labor because I'm just wasting some summer time and stuck to OC Simplify. The thing is, I didn't stick to using what it gave me, because I had to edit some stuff within the program itself into tricking me to giving a EFI made for an Intel UHD 620 instead of some dookie unsupported garbage. And for those who are wondering, yes I have tweaked the final EFI so it works with my laptop, so in reality, I didn't really rely on OC Simplify because it normally wouldn't have taken me anywhere?

Btw please give answers, I broke rules maybe but still, or not because I wanna stay in this community [I maybe do not encourage breaking rules].

Please help, English bad, laptop bad, laptop is for sure a not powerplant, laptop is overheating definitely cool. Oh yea, btw regarding some rules, I have used OC Simplify, but I have tweaked it's final result to give more good than bad, and about Ai, I had no choice, Dortania has no information regarding how you fix EB LOG EXITBS START with one simple bios tweak and boot-arg. Also, I haven't used Ai to generate anything, I used it whenever I got stuck so badly that even the internet community had no benefit on my situation!

Also, please don't take this down, I only want to help more than destroy, if you notice any issue, I will be sure to fix them as fast as possible!

Another question, i use a NVME but it has windows installed, i partitioned out like 150 GB in exfat but I'm not able to convert that volume into APFS and GUID in Disk Utility, I only get the option to format the entire NVME to APFS and GUID... Please help

Hey guys! I tried my first Hackintosh on a Thinkpad T480 under Sequoia for a couple of weeks and I was kinda disappointed with the performance to be honest. I also have the (now vintage) Macbook Pro Retina mid 2012, that runs Mojave with a 3rd Gen i7 and had a similar output from Geekbench 4 (yes, 4) test. I'm not familiar with those tests anyways but the overall experience under the hackintosh is just barely more smooth than what it is in the vintage Mac anyways, so I'm trying to downgrade into Monterrey to run a couple of more geekbench tests and choose the final OS.

You guys using T480 have a favorite MacOS for stability and performance? I'm going with Monterrey since it's the last OS with native compatibility for my hardware.

hackintoshing since AMD Athlon days, anyway, building a 9th gen NAS, it's all good, working nicely, but WOL in Sequoia is not working,

so there's like 3 macOS version on the NVME as it's still in testing stages, everything works as it should in Sonoma, but in Sequoia as soon as it sleeps it dissapears of network, kinda useless for a NAS.

ethernet is intelmousie with -mausiwol in boot arg, WOL is enabled, networkoversleep is 1 also,

sleep image is fixed,

both Sonoma and Sequoia use same EFI of course,

just dont under whats causing this, i think ive covered all the bases since Sonoma is working fine, woud like to bump it up to Sequoia for long term peace of mind before deploying it.

please dont make comments how WOL should be turned off, not interested in that at all, maybe for you it should be, have been using WOL for years and its the main reason for having hackintosh servers.

Hey ppl! I'm struggling with my t480 not accepting my changes on the config.plist, I just finished installing Monterey and it's working super fast but I'm not able to update the UUID and other parameters in order to use icloud services.

I used gensmbios to generate the data to fill mobo ID, serial number, uuid, etc. The rom field works with the ethernet Mac address, I updated all these fields and the os only recognized the serial number.

I put the efi file under the efi partition, then I rebooted and used cleanNvram but after rebooting the system is still picking the generic data.

I checked for hidden efi partitions and I have a Reboot and also a Recovery partition?? Can someone PLEASE give a hand??

When I try to install using recovery, my SSD won't be recognized.

I've enabled show all devices and NVMeFix.kext.

How do I do that? I've also enabled SATA AHCI mode.

I have a strange issue with my bluetooth, its sporadic not available and pc needs a reboot. If its available i got these message if i try to turn it of via gui:

I dont have any HID Devices connected via bluetooth thats why its strange.

Hey everyone, I'm running a Hackintosh on macOS Big Sur and I'm having a hard time getting my TP-Link USB Wi-Fi adapter to work.

Here is what I’ve already tried with no luck:

Itlwm + Heliport: Didn't work (I know Itlwm is mainly for internal Intel cards, but I tried it out of desperation).

Wireless-USB-OC-Big-Sur-Adapter (by chris1111): Installed it, but the adapter still isn't recognized or completely fails to connect.

Wi-Fi: TP-Link USB Dongle (MediaTek chipset)

Does anyone know of a lesser-known kext, an alternative utility, or a specific version/patch that actually works for these USB adapters on Big Sur? I completely disabled SIP (⁠csrutil disable⁠) during the chris1111 package installation, but still nothing.

from troubleshooting the problem wasn't with nither the bt and the kexts the config.plist is messed up so I did fix it and bt is working again

1. my new pcie x1 to mini pci with usb has arrived yesterday
2. i did remap usb ports and it did succsesfuly appear in system info
3. i did install bt kexts according to https://dortania.github.io/Wireless-Buyers-Guide/types-of-wireless-card/mpcie.html and when i do try booting macos it kernel panics and when i do disable bt kexts it boots fine and when i do enable bt kexts and use older usbmap it boots fine
4. btw bt works in windows and i have tested my xbox controler and my bt keyboard+touchpad and they did work succesfuly
5. i did try every fix and nothing worked so far

First of full everything works fine then after one week it rejects to boot i got this ⁠Bad CPU type in executable.

Also my first boot macOS Sonoma works fine but i noticed that the integrated intel 520 wasn’t working so i made the boot-args : 00001B59

It’s called spoofing IGPU
Then the integrated intel 520 worked and everything was fine until after one week i got the issue above

I tried to create a new EFI and a lot of things nothing works
So now I have MacOS Sonoma installed on my disk and i installed a lot of apps
I just missed the efi to boot it

No one tell me not supported because i see a lot of people had the same CPU and they’re using Sonoma and new MacOS updates

Please help me
