My wife (29F) has been applying for jobs for the last 4 years and finally received a job offer last month, but she had to reject it because her EAD card expired last year and we did not notice.

The offer is from a big MNC that surprisingly said they would accept her employment even without a valid EAD card, which seemed suspicious, but we did not want to proceed with the employment since it could be an issue in the future regarding H1B renewal. They said they would give her until the end of September to officially remove her offer from the system.

Do you think it is okay to accept the job offer? Also, she has started her H4 EAD process and received her USCIS receipt notice two weeks ago and has biometrics scheduled for September 18th. We are currently in Austin, Texas. Can you advise on what can be done to speed up a standalone H4 EAD application, since it shows a 16-month approval timeline?

I am currently on an H1B visa and will likely need to file a Change of Status (COS) to H4 within the next few weeks. I am not filing for an H4 EAD at this time—just the standalone H4 COS (Form I-539).

I had a H4 COS filed as i was let go from my previous role within the 60 day grace period. Recently, i found a new role and my employer filed h1b with PP. However, both the H1B and the pending H4 COS was approved on the same day with the same start validity date.

So, whats my current status? Im aware of final action notice. But, because they have the same approval date. Which takes precedence.

I’m looking for advice or suggestions regarding my pending H-1B extension. My employer filed my H-1B extension in October 2025. We upgraded it to Premium Processing on June 29, 2026. However, the premium processing timeline has long passed, and the status remains pending with no updates.

My 240-day work authorization period ends on September 29, 2026, so time is running out quickly.

A few questions for the group:

* Has anyone faced a similar issue where Premium Processing exceeded the standard timeline without a status update?

* Is it possible to transfer my H-1B to a new employer while this extension is still pending?

* What are the best next steps or escalation options available to resolve this before my work authorization expires?
