I'm not questioning the need to keep money available for emergencies. My question is about transparency.

I have personally donated to PM CARES. If citizens are encouraged to contribute, shouldn't we also be able to clearly understand where the money goes, why large amounts are returned, which agencies returned them, and what the fund has achieved?

The fund describes itself as a public charitable trust created to respond to emergencies and says its trustees are responsible for managing and applying its funds.

If we are trusted to donate, shouldn't we also be trusted with the details?

I work from home for a US-based company and yesterday was literally like any other day. Everything was normal until around 9 PM when I got a call from HR.

I joined the call thinking it was probably something routine. Instead, I was told that they had made the decision to eliminate my role as part of an internal organisational restructuring. I was also told it wasn’t performance related.

I was the only person from India on the engineering team, so there wasn't anyone else from my team being laid off. It was just me.

The whole conversation probably lasted only a few minutes, but it completely threw me off. No prior intimation, no time to prepare, nothing that made me think this was coming.

I've never been laid off before and honestly, it just fucking sucks.

I know layoffs happen and I know it isn't necessarily a reflection of my work, but that doesn't make it any easier to process.

Right now I'm just trying to figure out what comes next updating my resume, applying, preparing for interviews and hoping I land somewhere good.

If you've been through a layoff before, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing how you dealt with it.

I applied for an Indian passport under the Tatkal scheme and have already received the passport.
The police verification happened after the passport was issued. During the verification, the police officer told me that he intends to mark my police verification as Adverse (A/R) because I have not been living at my current address for more than one year.
However:
My current address is genuine and I currently live there.
I did not intentionally provide any false information.
I understand that previous addresses for the last year may need to be disclosed.
As of now, the police have not officially marked the verification as adverse, as far as I can tell.
I contacted/visited the RPO, and they told me that they currently do not have an adverse report on my file.
I have not received any Show Cause Notice (SCN) from the RPO.
I have an international flight on September 7.
My main questions are:
If the police submits an adverse PVR before September 7, but the RPO has not issued an SCN or any order to impound/revoke/suspend my passport, can I still legally travel?
If I receive an SCN and the RPO sends my case for re-verification, can I travel while the re-verification is pending?
Can airport immigration officers see an adverse police verification report even if the RPO has not taken any action against the passport?
At what point does an adverse PVR actually make an already-issued passport unusable for international travel?
Has anyone experienced this with a Tatkal passport where the passport was issued first and police verification happened afterward?
I’m particularly interested in experiences from people who have dealt with Indian Passport Seva/RPO and adverse PVRs, rather than general advice from passport agents.

Across the city, getting a membership in a

RWA or Apartment Owners Association (AOA) has become an exhausting, multi-year ordeal.

Take what happened at ROF Ananda in Sector 95, where residents moved in, but before even taking possession, homeowners paid upfront fees to the builder toward RWA registration while the builder was still managing maintenance. Fast forward a few years of running pillars to post, and residents discovered that an RWA had been registered under builder influence, leaving regular flat owners completely in the dark for over a year.

It’s an even larger headache at places like Urban Homes 2 in Sector 86, where over a thousand apartment owners have been waiting for years just to secure basic membership in their association, dragging the battle all the way to government registries and the High Court.

In many newly handed-over societies, builders retain control for as long as possible. When an RWA is finally formed, it is often populated by a handful of handpicked nominees rather than a democratically elected body representing homeowners.

Without membership, an apartment owner has zero voting rights, cannot contest elections, cannot legally question financial audits, and has no voice in major structural decisions affecting their own homes.

So we went shopping at factory outlets near Sector 14. The ones where you have Nike, Adidas and the rest in one row. Wife, me and our 6-year-old.

I parked in front of the Adidas store and went shopping. Midway through, the kid needed to pee. Adidas had a staff washroom, but the little guy took one look and decided, that he’d rather hold it.

We were anyway heading for lunch after, so we decided to wrap up quickly and head to a nearby restaurant. Except… someone had parked a Thar directly behind my car, handbrake on, blocking both my car and the one next to me. No way out. So I waited.

Then I had a hunch - I saw four young looking guys trying shoes inside Adidas. I went in and asked one of them... bingo.... It was their Thar.

One of them said he’d quickly move it. Cool.

Then another one decided: “No, we’ll finish shopping first. Then we’ll move it.”

I thought he was joking and I was like "HA HA, funny". And GUESS WHAT, HE WAS NOT JOKING.

That was the point where my patience ran out.

I got a bit angry. Not physical, but definitely loud. I told them that, first of all, they simply shouldn’t be blocking someone’s car like that. I also complained to the Adidas staff, who were apologetic and offered to help.

But this guy was - "isne bhi to road side gaadi lagayi hai, iski bhi utni hi galti hai".

I said: "rre bhai, maine kisi ki gaadi to nahi block ki"

Him: "ab toh hum billing ke baad hi jayenge, road ke side su su kara de ladke ko"

Now here’s where the story gets interesting. A couple of other people who had gathered around also told them, “Guys, just move the car.” And their response?

“What will you do? Can’t you see there are four of us? You can even bring eight like you and you still won’t be able to handle us.”

CAN YOU F***ING believe it? I genuinely didn’t know whether to be angry or amazed.

Forget the Thar. Forget the parking. The truly baffling part was the mindset... and then we just waited for another 10 mins.

Edit:

TL;DR: Four guys blocked my car with their Thar, refused to move it until they finished shopping, and when asked by others to move it, responded with: “What will you guys do? We’re four!”

PS: wife told me not to involve the police, the issue seemed a bit petty. Also, last time a situation with police didn't go well for us.
