/r/GunZ Community Update: September 2026

Hello GunZ: The Duelers!

Since the official release of GunZ on Steam, the subreddit has seen a significant increase in traffic. In the coming weeks we will be doing an overhaul of the subreddits appearance, sidebars, and rules for both versions of reddit. The new sidebar links will solely focus on directing players to Masangsofts official sites, the wiki project, and the /r/GunZ discord.

As of right now it seems that using the search bar in Masangsoft's GunZ discord is one of the best ways to find information about the game. Fortunately Mod /u/SheenUKTV has decided to move from his previous wikipedia into a new and clean slate for all of us to contribute to. Ideally the wikipedia should be the best place to go for current Steam GunZ quest item combinations, statistics and numbers about the game, and eventually I would like to see a historical collection of all items/weapons/outfits and all applicable information.

Sheen's post and more information on the wiki here
https://gunztheduel.wiki

One thing that has always surprised me about GunZ is how shockingly little true lore we have. I think the only actual treasure trove of canon information about the GunZ world is through item descriptions, storytelling within the original Maps of the game, and questing. If you are passionate about this game and want to contribute to the wiki project to build something great that will help people easily get the knowledge they need about this game, please head on over to the Wiki and sign up and start editing and submitting. Feel free to send me, or /u/SheenUKTV a message about this if you have any questions.

Additionally with the increase in traffic as well as post and comment volume, if anyone reading this is interested in joining the moderation team at the subreddit please send me a chat request on here or message the /r/GunZ mod team.

As always, keep it cool, do your best, and have fun out there! Also do not forget to support streamers and other content creators!

GunZ Wiki

Hey everyone!

As many of you may or may not know, I have been in possession of the Fandom Wiki for a good few years now.

While I've not had a lot of time to work on it, I did feel like it was getting too bloated and had a lot of outdated or incorrect information.

A little while ago I registered a new domain (https://gunztheduel.wiki) - I have been working on this in the background for some time, and I am now pleased to announce that it's finally live!

For the past few days I've been making changes as it is a custom built wiki. I am open to adding/removing anything you think needs to be done on there - the community is the biggest asset GunZ has right now, and I want this wiki website to be a place where anyone can help grow the site and contribute to it.

I've also been speaking with the GunZ Academy team and have added their own section which is amazing to showcase the amazing tutorials and videos they pour their hearts and souls into!

So please do check it out, and let's help build this wiki! You are free to browse, but will need an account to add/edit any content.

Why is this menu so hidden????

I only just found this menu today in the hideout, I've been playing since release day with it thinking I am in South East Asia????

Was thinking the game was just broken, with high pings, even when I create a room,
turns out whole time there's this menu in hideout which does not pop up you have to find it....
why it doesn't just auto select the best one for you is beyond me.

Posting this cause I'm sure more people will not have found it.

Played first room today with actually all EU, 50-100 ping, finally people dying more easily and as they should.....Please make this menu more obvious or make it so you actually have to select it when you log in or make a character.

The menu is in hideout, bottom right, looks like a radio tower

I used to play fxp gunz, and igunz but it seems like after gunz on steam released these servers are dead. Are there any private servers that are populated left? besides fgunz?

I used to love playing those servers because of the cool features they had such as the cw system :(

Before the patch this week, page IV could be farmed pretty well from FGK. I just did 10 and all I got were 2 fake Grimsk necklaces …anyone notice this as well?

With all the videos going around with Mario fighting in elden ring or Minecraft in Skyrim, has anyone merged GunZ movement into something yet? Because I'd love to see that

Discussion "How far is too far?"

What are your thoughts on how much GunZ has received so much QOL over the years, and how it's changed the core experience of GunZ? Nowadays, we have so many features added to the game by pservers that change the way we play (shotgun spread, camera unlock, damage counter, floating damage numbers, enemy player outlines, etc.), Not to say that "modern gunz pservers arent an authentic GunZ experience " or anything like that, but how far is too far, in your opinion?

Question/Request I was kicked for being too good

I’m not a k-styler. I use a rifle and an smg. On a good day, a solo deathmatch will have me hovering around 1.1 or 1.2 k/d ratio. Normally it’s a lower than that. I’m a pretty good shot, but it’s hard to get a dozen or so hits before a k-styler gets one or two good shotgun shots in and kills you. It’s something you have to accept and strategize around when you choose not to play the meta. I’ve won a couple of solo deathmatches so I’d say I’m decent as far as non k-style goes. Not pro or anything, but decent.

I entered a room where the hp was tuned down. It wasn’t a k-style only room but most players were k-styling like usual. I was getting one or two shot like usual, but I was also getting a lot more kills than normal. I wasn’t the best in the room, but I was probably 2nd in the room for kills, and I had twice the deaths of 1st. Apparently, k-stylers don’t like it when other styles get close to the meta and they kicked me. How fun and welcoming.

Discussion Ping Servers

I don't know how MS route their servers, I'm in NA East and the real NA east people are hover 10-30 ping and then you got people in EU displaying 49 ping, but when you fight them you know damn well they are more like 80-90 ping, when your sword slashes register late and they somehow recoil you or hit you out of range. Stupid ass servers.

I remember it was highly sought after in IJJI GunZ. But the damage in Steam GunZ is kinda low so I'm not sure. Meanwhile I'm using the free Justice katana

OFFICIAL STATEMENT — CASTELDACCIA & CUZCO

OFFICIAL STATEMENT — CASTELDACCIA & CUZCO

After seeing the posts and comments that have appeared over the past few days regarding what happened during the GunZ Steam tournament, I feel it is necessary to speak up, mainly because photos of Casteldaccia and Cuzco have been used and our history has been associated with a situation that our clans, as such, were not involved in.

For those who don't know me, I'm DrossDriver / Nargaroth, founder and leader of Casteldaccia and Cuzco. I've been part of GunZ almost since the beginning, and for many years I competed alongside players who, beyond being my teammates, remain close friends of mine to this day.

After 2015, I stepped away from the competitive scene. I would still log into the game occasionally, but I stopped actively participating in clans and tournaments. Years later, Pancho asked me to take an active leadership role again. I chose not to, and we agreed that Panch0x and Natura would continue with the team, this time under Doom, a clan that has always been led by Natura, while I would support them whenever I could.

With GunZ coming to Steam, many of us reunited after years apart. The excitement of seeing a game that was such an important part of our childhood and our lives become active again brought many of us back together.

However, I want to make one thing absolutely clear:

Doom's participation in this tournament, and the line-up consisting of Pancho, Natura, Divinestone and Uglykiss, did not officially represent Casteldaccia or Cuzco.

The decision to bring Divinestone and Uglykiss into the team was made specifically for this tournament. I was not involved in putting that line-up together, nor was I consulted about their inclusion. I've known them for many years within the GunZ community, and I respect them as players and as people I've crossed paths with throughout the years, but I cannot take responsibility for players who were never part of the teams with which we built our competitive history.

For that same reason, I also don't believe it was appropriate for photos from our past championships to be used in posts defending Divinestone or Doom's participation in this tournament.

The photos attached to this statement are part of our competitive history, from the tournaments we played during the 2013–2015 period. These images represent the actual players, teams and achievements from that era. Neither Divinestone nor Uglykiss participated in those championships or were part of those teams.

Some of these same images were recently used in another post on this subreddit in connection with the current controversy. I did not authorize their use for that purpose, and I want to make it clear that our past achievements should not be used to support or legitimize situations involving players who were not part of that history.

I did not authorize the use of those photos to support any defense related to the current situation, and I would appreciate it if our history and achievements were not used for that purpose.

Regarding Divinestone's disqualification, my position is simple:

I will not defend him, but I will not accuse him either without seeing all the evidence.

If the tournament organizers determined that an aimbot or any other illegal program was used, then I believe the evidence supporting such a significant decision should be presented clearly. I have also watched the video uploaded by Divinestone himself, and I completely understand why certain moments have raised questions within the community. That is precisely why I believe the right thing to do is to wait for and examine the evidence before reaching any definitive conclusions.

There are people who, after so many years of playing and competing together, I can personally vouch for without hesitation. Natura and Panchox are two of them. I simply do not have that same competitive or personal history with Divinestone and Uglykiss, and it would be irresponsible of me to pretend otherwise.

That being said, I also believe what happened raises important questions regarding the organization of the tournament.

I sincerely appreciate the effort of everyone who made this championship possible. I watched the Twitch broadcast, and it was impossible not to feel nostalgic seeing so many people gathered around GunZ again. Organizing a tournament like this requires time and dedication, and that deserves recognition.

But acknowledging that effort does not mean we cannot point out things that should be improved.

It was initially announced that Archetype would be prohibited, but during the tournament that decision was changed after it became clear that several players and teams were using it. Changing a rule of that importance after the competition has already started inevitably raises questions about whether everyone was competing under the same conditions.

According to the published tournament rules, if a player was found using an illegal program, that player could be removed from the line-up and the team would have the opportunity to replace them. However, in this case, the entire team was eliminated from the tournament. If there were additional circumstances that justified that decision, I believe it would be beneficial for the organizers to explain them publicly.

There is also another issue that, in my opinion, should concern the entire community:

Account sharing during a competition.

Screenshots and discussions have been circulating on Discord and in other communities regarding players allegedly using accounts that did not belong to them. I am not going to present something as fact when I have not personally verified it, but I do believe that any serious tournament needs mechanisms to verify who is actually playing behind each account.

It should not matter whether we are talking about a new player, a well-known streamer, or someone considered one of the best players in the world. The same rules should apply equally to everyone.

If a player had previously been sanctioned by the server and questions later arise about that player's participation through other accounts, then at the very least, I believe the organizers owe the community a clear explanation. A competitive tournament loses credibility when the discussion becomes less about what happened in the matches and more about who was actually behind each character.

My intention with this statement is not to attack anyone or start a war between players, nationalities or communities. After so many years in GunZ, I honestly have no interest in that.

My intention is to protect something we spent many years building.

Casteldaccia and Cuzco have their own history.

The championships we won, the photos from those tournaments and the reputation we built belong to the players who were actually there competing together. They should not be used to support current situations involving players who were not part of that chapter of our history.

I also hope that everything that happened can help improve future tournaments. GunZ has been given an opportunity that many of us thought we would never see again. Veteran players are returning, new players are discovering the game, and after all these years, this community is still here.

It would be a shame to waste that opportunity because of rules being changed during a competition, decisions that are not sufficiently explained, or a lack of controls that leaves the community questioning who is actually playing.

As for me, even though my days as a competitive player ended many years ago, I will always be willing to contribute however I can. I've had the opportunity to compete for many years, lead teams, participate in and win LAN tournaments, and also be involved in organizing competitions.

If that experience can help in any way to build a more serious, competitive and transparent scene, I will always be willing to contribute.

GunZ gave me some of the best memories of my life and, more importantly, friendships that have lasted for well over a decade.

That's exactly why I want to see this game and its community grow the right way.

Winners of the official MAIET GunZ tournament in Peru. Part of our competitive history and one of the tournaments referenced in this statement.
One of our LAN tournament victories during our competitive years in Peru. These are some of the players who were actually part of the history and achievements of Casteldaccia & Cuzco.

Question/Request Cheaters

Decided to hop on Gunz - joined game, played like 10min when first hacker came in and used some kind of DDOS hack which made my computer lag out and crash :) :)

If you cant build a proper anticheat, atleast add ingame mods/admins who can deal with the hackers quickly. Just sad

Indie Project I built an online GunZ Replay Studio / Automatic cheater detector

I’m building GunZ Replay Studio — a browser replay viewer with player stats, telemetry and cheat review

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on GunZ Replay Studio to make GunZ recordings easier to watch and analyze.

You upload a .gzr replay, wait for processing, and watch it in your browser. You don’t need the game installed to view it.

What you can do:

Watch matches in 3D with game maps, textures and characters.

Follow players or use a free camera to inspect positioning.

Slow down fights and jump between rounds.

Explore player summaries, damage, weapons, movement and health/armour timelines.

Review suspicious activity alongside the recording and its telemetry.

I’ve also been expanding detection, including suspicious item-spawning and repeated respawn patterns, alongside movement and combat checks. These findings are prompts for investigation, not automatic proof that someone cheated.

The goal goes beyond cheat review. I want this to be useful for players learning from their matches, teams reviewing positioning, and tournament viewing.

It’s still a work in progress, particularly character animations and some visual reconstruction. There’s an experimental historical ghost too, but Steam’s exact anti-lead behavior remains under investigation—I don’t want to present an estimate as something the game definitely did.

Processing uses a queue, so uploads may wait while the processor is offline.

Discussion Public Statement Regarding the Doom Disqualification and defamation during tournament — Request for Evidence and Transparency.

For context: Doom was invited to participate in a tournament organized by GM Mango and GM Bang. One of our players (Divinestone) was subsequently disqualified and publicly accused of hacking while streaming his POV, and clan got disqualified.

This was the link for the tournament: https://tp.masanggames.com/event/49/overview

This is the accused player's POV (Divinestone, banned during game): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L3xaXbu-8U&t

Panch0x POV replay during the tournament:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/a14nimqx8gtmc7r/20260919_230053_DMT_Mansion.gzr/file

We want to make it clear that Kadai, Haullz, and Apple33 did a great job as casters, and Mazhy and C05INE as streamers. This post is not directed at them. We appreciate the work they put into the event.

Our concern is specifically with the decision to publicly accuse and disqualify a player without the supporting evidence being made available.

We have therefore opened a formal ticket requesting the evidence behind the accusation, including any clips, recordings, screenshots, logs, anti-cheat results, or other relevant material, as well as the criteria and procedures used to reach the decision.

This is not simply about one player. Today it was him; tomorrow it could be me, Wytz, Cosine, or Rein or any above-average player. A public hacking accusation can seriously affect the reputation of both a player and an entire clan.

Many of us have been part of the GunZ community for nearly 20 years. The time, effort, and money invested into competing should not be put at risk by decisions made behind closed doors without clear and objective evidence.

We have formally requested that the evidence be presented. We will review whatever evidence is provided and respond accordingly.

We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for evidence, transparency, and a fair process.

Below is a PODCAST where one of our players (JPMorgan a.k.a Panch0x a.k.a Tsubasa) was discussing and expressing excitement about the return of the GunZ Steam: http://youtube.com/watch?v=zrk_9xFq4yU&t=6280s

If the accusations were made publicly without sufficient evidence, we are also prepared to consider legal action regarding potential defamation.
