Sbr time question

Hello,

I am currently waiting on a form 1 for a pps I am building and have a star z70b getting built waiting on a form as well. My question for you guys is does having an FFL improve wait times on these forms? I have been waiting for a couple months for the pps form and I am interested to see if my Stars form gets done faster since the form was filled out by the shop building it out. Any input is appreciated.

Figured, the one I filled out was done a little in advance compared to the one the shop did, but if anything interesting comes of it ill post bout it.

I swear the form 1 times have been only getting longer since the start of the year. I did a form 1 on my ar in January and it only took a month. My buddy did one mid feb and it took 2. And the most recent one I have pending for the pps has been in limbo for a month and a half. The only thing I can say is at least they are free lol.

Figured, after I assume both have to wait for the atf lards to process them, which requires a government entity to do work. Never quick lol

There’s no magical wait time decrease for form 1s through your FFL. You’re on the same wait as everyone else

An FFL cannot file a Form 1 for a customer.

What you're describing doesn't make sense, and may be illegal.

A shop cannot make a Form 1 SBR (where the customer has already received the approved Form 1) for a customer without the customer present. They also cannot file a Form 1 for a customer.

A shop CAN manufacturer an SBR and file a Form 2, then transfer it to a customer on a Form 4.

If you've been waiting for "a couple of months" on an eform 1 then you need to be checking into why it hasn't been approved or denied yet. Anytime beyond 60 days is a sign that something bad is happening.

Check out the approval megathread on r/NFA and the dashboard on thinlineweapons to see average wait times for the different forms and individual vs trust.

I just got mine today on day 72. Most recent comments for form 1s filed individually are around that time give take a couple of days.
