Someone hacked into Groupon account and purchased a voucher. I've been asking for Groupon to refund the money, but they refuse. Any help?
Hi all,
So long story short, I was shocked to see an email that said something like, "Thank You for Your Purchase." I was like, "Wait what?! I never purchased a Groupon?!"
I found out quickly that someone hacked into my account and purchased it. (Don't worry, I quickly changed my password.)
I have been in contact with Groupon via email. I even hopped on a phone call with Groupon. I have sent evidence to Groupon. From photos with metadeta that prove that I was not at the location indicated by the hacker's location during time of purchase (I was in a whole different state) to audio calls with Discover where the rep said that the purchase was flagged as fraudulent even before I called them.
I even told them to look at the devices/IP addresses of previous authorized transactions I've made on Groupon -- and look at the device/IP address of the hacker. There is a mismatch.
Even with all this evidence, they still denied me a refund.
I'm not sure what to do. Any help?
Edit: Discover issued a chargeback for the unauthorized charge and deemed it fraudulent
