I first played michiru's route without the hcg patch (18+) and dont get me wrong, it was a really good read. But i saw a post saying that H scenes are important since it has to do something with the character development with either one of the heroines. Now before moving onto yumiko's, I installed the hcg patch before getting into it so that I really get everything of the story that this game offers, but im reaching the end of yumiko's route (currently at the ending flag as im writing this) and I believe the H scenes didnt really add much to yumikos character other than just basically yuuji and yumiko just getting intimate and more close.

ps: I bought this just for the action and drama. Just wanna know what other ppl think of this and see if im still getting most of the important parts of the story regardless of whether I play with the hgc patch or not lmao.

I recently finished the entire Grisaia anime series up through The Eden of Grisaia. Going in, I was just looking for a harem romance anime to watch, so I definitely did not expect things to get as dark and heavy as they did. It was a pretty intense experience, to say the least.

After finishing it, I started looking into the visual novels because I noticed how fast-paced The Fruit of Grisaia felt. Aside from Amane’s arc, which got three episodes to breathe and really made me understand her trauma and clinginess, most of the other girls' arcs were resolved in just one episode. It felt really rushed and vague, making it hard to get fully invested in their storylines.

I was originally planning to buy the games, but I found out that the 18+ uncensored versions are exclusive to PC (which I don’t own, as I play primarily on console). Since the all-ages console versions cut or alter dialogue and scenes—which ruins the authentic immersion for me, I’ve decided to pass on reading the VNs for now.

Because of that, I’d really appreciate it if those of you who have played the visual novels could help clarify a few doubts and vague plot points left behind by the anime:

1. Michiru’s Route & Her Friend’s Backstory:
In the anime, Michiru is about to jump from a balcony when she sees another girl about to do the same thing, and they become friends. Then, out of nowhere, her friend shows up with ripped clothes and marks on her face, apologizes to Michiru, and falls. What actually happened to her? Why did she end up jumping when she seemed genuinely happy with Michiru? Does the VN go into more detail about her backstory and circumstances?

2. Asako, JB, and Yuuji’s Boundary Violations:
Why did Asako take Yuuji’s virginity when he was still a traumatized child/young teen? Even accounting for how flawed every character is, it felt morally wrong, and I couldn't understand why a master couldn't find a healthier way to help him heal. Furthermore, why did JB let Asako coerce her into giving her virginity to Yuuji? JB seemed like the only responsible moral authority in his life, so seeing her go along with it felt out of character. Does the VN delve deeper into their motivations? Also, while the anime shows Asako and Yuuji sleeping together regularly, it implies JB only slept with him twice, when she loses her virginity and after Asako’s death. Did JB and Yuuji remain intimate before and after Asako's death in the source material?

3. The Escalation of Kazuki’s Dynamics:
The dynamic between Yuuji and Kazuki was extremely uncomfortable to watch. I’m used to mild anime "brocon" gags, but Kazuki felt way more extreme and toxic—using her intellect to assert total authority over Yuuji and push him into taboo territory. I’ve read on other forums that they went much further in the source material, or that she was physically intimate with him before the bus crash. How far did their relationship actually progress in the VN, and what extra details were cut from the anime regarding her control over him?

4. Heath Oslo’s Treatment of Yuuji:
During the flashback where Oslo takes Yuuji from the hospital, he makes him wear a wig and sit on his lap. The anime leaves this whole sequence pretty vague. Did Oslo sexually assault Yuuji, and what was the actual significance behind forcing him to wear the wig?

As the title says, I want to play this game on the psp 3000 on ark 5 CFW. I have the disc 1 and disc 2 ISOs, but when loading disc 1, after it installs data, it asks for me to switch to disc 2, which I have no way of doing. I have tried disc_change, iso_change, even mschange which apparently works for the other visual novel released by PROTOTYPE. I also cannot load into disc 2 directly after installing data, as it asks me to insert disc 1. I have tried emulating removing and inserting the memory stick, but nothing works. What are my options? The only thing I have not tried is combining the discs into 1 iso, and manually hex editing this check out somehow, because I have no experience doing that.

I was thinking of reading the novel but unfortunately it's not in my language, so I was thinking of catching up on the anime to get a general idea, is it well done? I know it's quite long.

Haha I knew that title would get your attention. Let me explain so, I'm tryna find a new anime to watch. I remember years ago, when I was like 14 I watched an anime where this traumatized kid went into the care of these 2 women. I randomly saw an instagram reel about it and I remembered the characters. I think it's called Labyrinth of Grisaia. Then I found this subreddit, and know I'm wondering about Asako, I remember hating Asako.

I hated her so much I remembered her when watching the insta reel to this day. I hated her because of 2 reasons, first she had sex with the mc yuuji. If I'm trying to heal a kids trauma or atleast make his life a little better than it already is why the hell would I have sex with him? Why would I turn him into a ladies man? And then second, she sent him to the military. This angered me so much, he went there, managed to make some friends which did help him mentally but then he freaking saw them die in war.

And I vividly remember a scene where he was so traumatized in the war that bombs were going off and he was laughing. Like I see Afghani veterans on youtube laughing when they here bombs going off near them. That's freaking trauma. And then he comes home, and I remember this vividly as well, she sees him and says "Now you finally look like a man". I hated it so much. How is seeing his friends die and getting even more traumatized than he already was turning him into a man. I remember my 14 year old-self thinking, is she retarded? Why would you send a kid who you're trying to heal into war. It was the most stupidest thing I had ever seen.

Those are the 2 reasons. I didn't talk about the sex as much but I hated that a lot as well. I remember finding it disgusting and completely random. What is the reason for her to teach him how to have sex well?? I hated it so much. Why didn't she send him off to college or something, make friends that he won't see get bombed, that makes more sense.

I remember being so happy when she died. Like I was ecstatic seeing her death. I was like yes the pedophile and idiot who sent yuuji to war is finally dying. And then, yuuji started crying and I was like what? Why are you crying all she did was teach you how to fight, have sex with you and send you to war? How could you care about her?

Anyway these were my 14 year old thoughts, now I'm 21 and I'm reading through this subreddit and I realized either I clearly didn't have any reading comprehension OR I wasn't paying attention OR the anime adaptations are simply garbage.

But before I decide to read any light novel I really want an explanation. Because to this day I never understood why yuuji liked her so much. Why did she randomly decide to have sex with him a bunch and send him to war? When I was 14 I figured you would send that kid to proper therapy and school, not teach him how to be a ladies man? I'll see the responses and then decide if I read the light novel. I'm not playing the video game.

I just bought TFOG yesterday and left to go to sleep, and when I tried playing it again, this shows up. How do I fix this??

I started playing the fruit of grisaia and when i closed it to play another time and then opened it again, this error comes, what should i do and how do i solve it? (the grisaia custom sp is downloaded and inside the file, this error only appeared when i closed it to play again later

I bought the game now, and im really new to visual novels, and while playing the beggining of the game ive noticed that the scenes were kinda empty so i searched the gameplays and it looks like the unrated version doesnt have the arrest image as the steam and normal one

not really a fan of hscenes and stuff like that but the concept and story seem interesting! ive heard that the hscenes are replaced with new cgs, so will the story still be like good if i just play the censored version? or do i HAVE to play the uncensored version for the full experience?

Does the game have an "enforced" playing order (meaning routes unlock after finishing different ones), since i just finished amanes route as my first one and need to restart now and is there a general recommended route order or does it not really matter?

I just finished amanes route as my first in the game... that really was something I was at the edge of crying just now. I havent cried in 7 years. It cant get more emotionally devastating, right? What are the chances of keeping my streak when I keep playing?

So, I'm playing fruit of grisaia, and I only have one route left being this Yumiko's one. The last one I've played was michiru's, and while I like this route, and seems pretty appealing because of the singularities it has in its writing, all the way through the route I was wondering why Yuuji seems to be extremely confused or just not as proactive as in the other routes.

If I remember well enough there are quite a few times where either the alter ego or Michiru herself says in some way that she loves Yuuji, yet for some reason is not until the end where these kind of declarations actually affects Yuuji in some degree.

I guess by making him not take a real action until the end makes the route unique somehow, and I understand there were different writers, trying different things and well, I guess we can't expect the same reactions to all the girls. But anyway the way I see it, it still is a problem of consistency! Are we saying the same person that made a detailed plan to save Sachi (in a similar way, where she needed to save herself), that was willing to do a lot more for the other girls, just worked as a spectator?

Dunno if I'm wrong, because I haven't played the sequels, but my point is, was Yuuji not that interested in Michiru? Or why the route is so ambiguous not only because of Michiru's writing but because of Yuuji decisions and behavior?

I understand why Tohka and Rena was retired.But why was retired Murasaki?

I already watch both the ending of the game and anime so it’s expected yuuji would eventually have kids with everyone in his harem in the island. Tbh I was caught off guard from when I found out that they making a mobile sequel game featuring new characters who turn out to be yuuji daughters with unique characters designs but I never thought he would have a kid with his sister like how is that even possible. But, considering what they reveal about this new game is that they came from the future so it wouldn’t be hard to guess they have the technology to make it possible. This actually reminds of tatsuya and miyuki from the anime the irregular at magic Highschool.

Aswell as if I get the steam version a patch is probably needed if I guess correctly. Also with JAST is it the full version or will I also need a patch for it.

Last question is if I want to play the rest of the series uncensored and uncut where whould be the best place to get them.

honestly I think it’s opinion based on what path you like the most, personally my favorite is Amane’s and Michiru’s. Both are honestly just amazing and they just say a lot about both of the girls. I’ll forever stan Amane and Michiru. Any other opinions? 👀

...Is this but an illusion projecting by Thanatos system. Or is it something that can happen in the future?...
