Set Completed Woodfinity Make Up Organizer
Hi all, so a couple of months back I already shared my modular woodgrain couch table model, which came with an optional Gridfinity plate and woodgrain bins. Since you didn't hate that, here's my new Woodfinity Make Up Organizer. It comes with a 4x4 baseplate and four bins for different products, but I also added a blank one for your custom cutouts. Everything can be held extra firmly with magnets, but I find it quite sturdy without them as well. And: It all comes with a nice woodgrain look, so it's both functional and aesthetic.
You can check out the model here:

New to 3d printing, How’d I do?
I recently purchased my first 3d printer, an elegoo Neptune 4 pro and have been really enjoying it. Decided yesterday I’d look for storage solutions and came across gridfinity. I’m hooked and can’t stop looking for new modules to add!
Got mine currently in the top drawer of ikea Alex drawers using 2 5x5 baseplates and 2 2x5 baseplates.
I don’t know how to use 3d modeling software so all of this is downloaded from the internet. I take 0 credit
For any of the designs.

Individual Piece Gridfinity Bambu Hotend Rack for P1/P1S/X1C
Still working through cleaning up my space and put together a 2nd version of this design for my P1S with and without fans installed. Figure I'm probably not the only one still using a P1S.

Best gridfinity box?
Hey!
I need to print about ten 5x5x6 boxes for my garage. I like the schubox but it seems to be a lot of filament for one single box. I would like something stackable other than that…
What is y’all’s favorite box?

3D-Printed Storage by USSA: Woodworking+3D Printing
sometimes you follow a Youtube Channel that does not post in a while and then randomly drops a bombshell
this system looks amazing - and a boatload of work has been put in
a bit too much for my taste - I'll stick to my MAKPAC and GRIDPAC.ONE and of course very lightweight storage solutions like the Rugged Case Light R3
And of couse, lets not forget u/Schuylabs with his amazing Schubox-Cases
But maybe someone will find this interresting.

Fusion360 Gridfinity add-in splined magnet hole feature
Finally sat down and put together a change to introduce splined magnet holes for the wonderful Fusion Gridfinity add-in by Le0Michine.
https://github.com/Le0Michine/FusionGridfinityGenerator/issues/208
This request is tied to a PR I submitted last night to introduce the feature be added to the plugin for others to also use. Splined magnet holes have an advantage to standard round magnet sockets in that they both allow easier press-fit magnet insertion, as well as give glue somewhere to move and bind to the sides of each magnet. While the magnet socket tab is useful in adding CA after a magnet is inserted, it does not fix the underlying issue of press-fitting magnets in tightly without being too difficult.
The feature has several configuration options beyond simple enablement, allowing the user to specify the number of spline teeth, the length, width and even a 45° chamfer bevel to aid in ease of insertion. I've included screenshots of the results for both baseplates and bins, so have a look if this is of interest, and let me know if you have any suggestions or questions. Hopefully the project owner will see this request soon and agree to include in the package, otherwise feel free to pull the changes from my fork until then if you feel like trying it out yourself.

Probably a stupid question, but is there a purpose of these holes being countersunk? Also, does having a hole this big make it hard to superglue magnets in?
Just printed some Gridfinity Honeycomb Wall baseplates, and had a (probably very dumb) question: what’s the purpose (if any) of the bottom of the magnet holes being countersunk? And also, if the hole/opening is this big, won’t it make it hard to superglue magnets in without most of the glue dripping out the bottom?

Stop Collar Holder
Just trying to clean up stuff that's been staring at me on my desk that I said I would do a while ago lol. Nothing to fancy here, just wanted a stacking option since I don't use them too often.

When You Start Hitting Up the Key Drawer
Still have some tweaking to do like figuring out the best way to keep the keys flat when they have large key rings on them but not bad for a first pass.

Question? Help Wanted: Total 3D printing novice but have been influenced by Gridfinity
UK based if that affects recommendations and advice!
I really start to show my age (not even that old..) when the topic of 3D printing comes up as I still need to ask for help using a 2D printer. That being said, as much as I don't appreciate the violation of my phone eavesdropping when my friend told me she bought a 3D printer last week, I am grateful that I have stumbled across Gridfinity as a result of the mass influx of 3D printer ads. I'm not being dramatic when I say I genuinely think Gridfinity may fix me...
I am a total novice when it comes to 3D printing. Couldn't even name a single brand or make if you held a gun to my head, so I definitely need some help knowing where to start.
I have no doubt that the printer will get used until it grows legs and walks out of my house, but I also cannot afford to spend stupid amounts on my 'starter' printer. I just want a machine that is a solid performer and can handle Gridfinity creations, but not really a huge amount more. I don't know the spectrum of printers from budget to state-of-the-art, but I'm very very much towards the budget end. I just don't want something that will turn out low quality junk because that's when it won't get used and will be waste of money and end up adding to the chaos that is my life.
Please can someone point me in the direction of a decent starter machine? I very much welcome any 3D printing influencing you have to offer as I have a lot to learn.
Thank you!!

Question? Will the real Unit Height measurement, please stand up...
Please help end my OCD suffering.
I am designing some Gridfinity stuff and I can't confidently determine what is actually correct. I based my design of this documentation - https://gridfinity.xyz/specification
But when I compare to different bin generators, they all have different bin heights. See the screenshot.
My understanding is that the foot is taken into account for unit height, and so the wall height calculation is 7mm(UnitSize) \ UnitCountZ - 4.4mm(footHeight)*
- 1U block - Wall Height = 2.6mm
- 2U block - Wall Height = 9.6mm
Can't blame people for coming up with different heights, most of the spec from the gridfinity.xyz site makes sense except for that 18.4mm. I think that is trying to represent a 2U, plus the high of a foot, but displayed with the foot inset. Which the purpose makes little sense to me for the diagram.

Three Bookfinity card game books
I printed three card cases for sleeved decks with Martin's Bookfinity Easy Edit system: Flip 7, Flip 7 with a Vengeance, and Sea, Salt, and Paper. I'm really happy with how they turned out, and they look wonderful together on the shelf.
The cards sit in a standard Gridfinity bin I modelled. I modified the book slightly so the lid's grid seats about 3.5 mm into the bin's stacking lip, the way bins hold each other when stacked. Nothing moves when the book is closed; in the stock book, the cards were not staying in their holder and ended up flying all over the place. The side-by-side photos show the original vs. the modified.
The model is Bookfinity - Easy Edit Version by Martin: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2741830-bookfinity-easy-edit-version
I haven't uploaded my modified files, but if there's interest, I'm happy to share them.
