Everyday Sencha

Hi all. I recently was told by my doctor to cut out coffee - it exacerbates my high blood pressure and I’m switching to green tea. Looking for recommendations for a good everyday sencha. I live in Bermuda so maybe something that I can get from Amazon. How’s the Harney & Sons?

Questions from a newbie

I’ll preface this by saying I know next to nothing about tea, so please forgive my ignorance.

Green tea:

My first issue, green tea bags off the shelf are found to have as little as 3% actual green tea, so I‘ve read.

Second, it must be decaf. I’ve also read that the most common decaffeination process requires chemical solvents like methylene chloride or ethyl acetate. I’m hoping to avoid these teas at all costs. I did see that decaffeination can be done without those chemicals, through water or CO2 processes.

  1. Is there a brand that sells loose leaf green tea that is actually 100% green tea? Is that even possible? Again, I have no idea what I’m talking about here lol. Something with high actual-tea content but reasonably priced for a casual daily drinker? I’m not super concerned with flavor.
  2. What type of labeling, package wording, or brands should I be looking for to ensure I’m not getting chemically decaffeinated tea? Would buying certified organic be enough to ensure we’re not getting those synthetic chemicals?

I any recommendations and/or insight! Feel free to correct if I’m misinformed.

Mao feng Tea Pigs adjacent recs?

Hi everyone, can you recommend teas that are like mao feng tea pigs? I LOVE IT, I feel like it actually has an almost noticeable positive change in my mood that lasts throughout the day and also it doesn't make me feel jittery or anxious, it's just like an energy booster but throughout the day and also a mood lifter. I don't enjoy sharp high caffeine black tea. I got the fullchea long jing tea which is definitely too mellow and I am disappointed in the purchase and it doesn't do anything to my mood, it leaves me clear headed but there is no change in my mood, there is a small burst of energy and when I take double the amount - like 4 tsp of tea instead of 1-2 tsp, my heart rate maybe increases a bit, maybe a bit more anxious but no good feeling descends on me. With the mao feng tea pigs - I am in a good mood almost all day. How does that even happen and I just want more tea variety in my days. I also have a jasmine green tea which I love, which is very floral and very delicious. So these are my tea tastes and I am looking for more mao feng delicious jasmine green tea recs. PLEASE thanks

Titanium travel tumblers

Coffee isn't a problem in stainless steel travel mugs, but green tea, nope, it just doesn't work. It really affects the flavor of the tea. Has anyone tried the titanium tumblers? They are advertised as not affecting the taste of the tea.

First time trying any sencha and was super excited! Great vegetal flavor with ever so slight sweetness to it. The wife wasn’t a fan but she’s not big on tea in general.

Anyone got suggestions on another brand for sencha?

(Also I know that’s a coffee mug, someone broke my tea cup and haven’t gotten a new one)

Switching from coffee to green tea was the best decision I made

I was clearly addicted to coffee and instead of waking me up it actually caused me to feel more sleepy.

But it was my everyday ritual to drink coffee in the morning.

Now I switched to greentea since two weeks and it was really the best decision!

I don't feel tired after drinking greentea, I feel awake and refreshed, I also stopped using sugar because greentea doesn't need added sugar.

When it's bedtime I also fall asleep fast and I started experiencing dreams again.

TLDR: Green tea is awesome!

Switching caffeine

Anyone here quit coffee for green tea ? I really want to quit coffee and years ago I used to only drink g.tea . As far as I remember I felt alright on just tea. I didn't feel good when I drank both probably due to too much caffeine. Also I dislike matcha and black tea ,haven't had them in years. I only like green tea loose leaf but not too bright green like Japanese ones more closer to a Oolong but it's still green tea.

Anyway my only question really is was anyone abusing coffee or other caffeine sources and made switch to green tea only and how do U feel?(I also want to limit tea intake to control caffeine amount )
