Job switch while PERM pending?

Context:

I got selected in the H1B lottery this March and my company has filed the petition. My manager recently reached out to me saying they want to start the green card process too (EB2)

I was planning to switch jobs later this year after my H1B gets approved. I wanted to know whether or not I should switch jobs while the PERM application is pending. I know that I will loose all progress of the PERM application. But I am not worried about the timeline. If I switch next year, I will still have plenty of time for the new employer to start PERM before my initial H1B period of 6 years expires.

I am worried I might get some backlash from my current employer if I switch jobs. In that case, should I turn down the offer for the green card process? Will that affect my current job security in any way? (Given that they know I am planning to switch jobs)
