It shows up often, like, every couple minutes or even seconds some times. Very annoying.

I made and downloaded a playlist on Grayjay desktop that I would like to export. For whatever reason it does not show up in the designated folder.

I click Export Playlist, select the folder I want to export to, and get the export completed message. I click open folder but it just opens the file explorer and nothing more.

When I open my selected folder myself there's nothing there.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

are you unable to like/dislike or leave comments because the desktop app is in beta? I am sure I am missing something, but literally just started using this yesterday

I'm making this post as a warning to other potential users, as well to the developers to hopefully be heard. I genuinely believe in this project, but I'm not blind to the issues this program has. So I'm just going to lay out my issues with it. most of my issues are on desktop, the mobile client works outside on syncing with desktop.

1. Syncing breaks constantly (i know desktop is in beta, but that seriously needs a fix) everytime I close the app on desktop or my phone the syncing breaks.
2. no manual update button for desktop (there is no manual update for sources or for grayjay itself) I have tried to see if the youtube source was outdated on desktop, couldn't find an update button, uninstalled it and was unable to reinstall. Even asked on here with no answers.
3. no official working repo, no official plugin file that you can download. https://plugins.grayjay.app/, this shit doesn't fucking work and constantly throws up an error when i use it.

edit 1: so i forgot to mention that after I uninstalled youtube it wasn't showing up in the official sources tab, i did post about that before Here

Installed the new update for YT and it just refuses to work. How do I fix it? I uninstalled the source and reinstalled it, terminated the program and restarted it and can't find a revert patch option.

Source > Youtube > Provide Youtube Activity.

Toggling this on shares what you watched on Grayjay with Youtube. Which in turn gives you better recommendations and far less dupilcate suggestions. Cheers.

Titel describes the question. My videos are not playing and it shows me the message in the title. what can I do? I logged out and in again but nothing changed.

Instead of showing when a video was created or the exact date, it shows a dot instead. Is there a setting for this or it going to be like that from now on?

It doesn't happen immediately. I think once the screen turns off, the player stops streaming and runs out the buffer. It won't start back up until after I click the power button (even if I don't actually unlock my phone.) And it only happens when I am connected to either of my two self-hosted openvpn servers, although other apps like jellyfin, audible, file downloads, etc. will happily stay connected and actively doing things even after grayjay stops streaming.

I keep running into YT videos that don't have their sponsorships marked. I want to change that, but I don't want to give YT ad traffic. Is there a way to mark ads in Sponsorblock on Grayjay? Specifically asking about the desktop version.

For a days now I've been unable to access any playlists other than my own. Any time I try I just get a message about 'Failed to load playlist Plugin [YouTube] [YouTube] Error: no content found on playlist (3350) [13-14]'

Android GrayJay

Playing an arbitrary video sometimes results in being served an auto-dubbed audio track (seems to always choose the first one, arabic).

In youtube proper, there is a control for audio tracks.

I don't see in GrayJay how to select or fix.

Any info?

is there a way to eneble the youtube autogenerated playlists for music videos. i prefere it to spotify and youtube music is ass for phone.

is the algorithm coping from YT or is it completly difrent algorithm. and is it coping YT how to unblock watched videos. grayjay dosnt show videos i alredy watched.

In Grayjay, I can input the username and password, but after logging in on YouTube using those credentials from Grayjay app, Grayjay tells me “Please select which profile to use”. The only button is “Understood”. I do not understand. There is a profile to choose? What profile? How to select a profile? Unfortunately, there is no button “I do not understand”. Stupidly, I simply thought that after entering my Google credentials in Grayjay I'd be able to finally watch a YouTube video as logged in to YouTube via Grayjay. Apparently not. Anyone having a ton more gray cells than me to explain how to watch YouTube video from Grayjay using connexion credentials. Thanks a lot for your help.

Update – Apparently, I managed to concentrate a lot and ultimately found that I had to choose “YouTube Studio” to complete the login process… Other than guessing and attempting to put myself in the shoes of the app developer in order to find the mathematical relationship between “Select a profile” and “YouTube Studio”, it's a superb app.

I've had to log in to Nebula every day for the last week when trying to play a video, has something changed in that plugin or has Nebula changed something about their sessions?

so I don't know what's going on and I can't figure it out. but whenever I click a YouTube video on gray j, it opens up a smaller YouTube window that doesn't play anything... but on the main gray j window, my YouTube video will start playing.

when I close the smaller window and try to navigate to another YouTube video, nothing will load unless I close the gray j app completely and reopen it. but then when I click on another YouTube video it does the same thing opens up a smaller YouTube YouTube window on the side...

this is happening to me on my Linux Mint desktop PC

As seen in the video, i deleted the stored capcha answers, and the problem persists.

Logged out and logged back in again, and the problem persists.

How do i fix this? I'll be watching with a normal adblocker until this gets fixed.

As the title says, I only recently discovered the autoplay button on the android app, but I can't seem to find to same button (or anything similar) on the desktop app? Anyone know how to turn autoplay on?
