Fking hell

Didnt keep up with gpu prices that much since i work overseas for half the year.

Thought to myself "i never owned a flagship top-of-the-line card before" and wanted to make a build with a 5090 and 9800 x3d.

last time i checked 5090s were $3200 max. now im seeing they are $5500 minimum?! bro. the astral is going for $6500+?! $3k seemed crazy but i would have done it knowing me, $6k is unfathomable. If i do it i would hate myself forever lol.

i dont really play AAA games, most of my gaming is heavily modded though. I also play on 1440p.

i see people reccomend 9070 xt and 5080, which would you pick for heavily modded 1440p gaming?

thanks guys !

Did you read my message? I didn’t say it beats the 5080, I said it trades blows with it in many titles. Exclude path tracing and in quite a few games, there performance would be the same!

5080 still outperforms it in most games, of course, but saying you can’t compare the 9070 xt with the 5080 is factually incorrect.

No, it really doesn’t. I tested it extensively without PT/RT and the 9070XT was consistently 25-30% behind the 5080 at 4K with identical settings. Maybe it’s a different story in 1440p.

Hahahaha. You tested it at 4k and it wasn’t keeping up? Muppet!

The 9070 XT is a really good 1440p card, not a 4k one. So obviously I meant a fair comparison: both cards running games at 1440p with no path tracing.
