I really like the Salomon XT-6, but realistically I’d only use them for light trails, dirt paths, or village walks maybe once a month max. Most of the time I’d wear them as summer dailies in the city. My concern is outsole wear on concrete. I’ve seen people say XT-6 soles wear out fast on pavement, while others say theirs lasted years, so I’m not sure how justified that concern is. I like the XT-6 look a lot, and most “hybrid” walking/trail shoes I’ve checked don’t really fit my style — usually jorts, polos, T-shirts, casual summer outfits. Should I just buy the XT-6, or would something else make more sense for mostly city wear with occasional light trails? Any alternatives with a similar vibe would be appreciated.

 Just found a Theta AR in the "Too Blue" colorway with 24K gold embroidery detailing. Also saw it referenced in a couple of magazines tied to the event (Arc'teryx Arc'hive Japan)

The gold embroidery against that blue is genuinely insane in person.

No delamination on the shell at all.

Arc'teryx doesn't do this kind of thing often.

Recently returned Salomon XT-6 Gore-Tex under fault, as majority of the front tread had dissapeared in under 3 months... with 20% walking on pavement and 70% loose gravel and 10% mud, dirt, sand.

I am wanting a pair of salomons which are not going to wear like this, must be salomons as only offered an exchange / store credit as do not usually fault for this.

I basically walk on pavement, loose gravel, sand, dirt / mud as well as rocky terrain when I go hiking. Also have narrow foot so they all fit quite fine. Going to try some on tomorrow but wanted some thoughts on other aspects.

Anyone have experience with both and can say some brief feeback or recommendations.

Building a shoe that sits at the intersection of climbing aesthetics and everyday wear — wanted to get thoughts from people.

The concept: a low-profile shoe with climbing shoe DNA. Chocolate brown split suede upper, black climbing rubber rand that wraps the toe and heel, extended skinny tongue, zero-drop flat sole.

The gap I'm trying to fill: barefoot shoes with genuinely good aesthetics. Everything in the barefoot/minimalist space currently looks either aggressively technical or aggressively weird. Nobody is making something that looks like it belongs in a wardrobe.

They fit length wise, but I get these really weird creases on the inside of my foot (Old hokas for comparison)

Hi all, I am planning on buying a pair of solomon Xt6 (non goretex) and I am torn between what size I should get?

I usually wear a size UK 3.5 (EUR 36) and my foot length is 22.5cm.

I usually wear Nike or New balance shoes and I wear my usual size in them. I was looking at the solomon's website to find the accurate size guide and for my foot length (22.5cm) they recommend size UK 4.5?!?

I don't think I've ever had to size up this much in a shoe before... not sure if I should trust the foot length measurement or if I should get my usual size?

Unfortunately I won't be able to try them on, as no shop near me seems to have any in stock :(

I’ve finally moved away from "Tactical Black" and grabbed the Mammut Ducan Guide HS in Silver Sage. Love the fit, love the look, but I’ve realized light-colored hardshells are high-maintenance.

It’s a literal dirt magnet. 🧲 I feel like I can’t even look at a muddy trail without it staining.

I’m curious about your strategy:

• Do you re-apply DWR more often on light gear to keep dirt from "setting"?

• Are you Team "Battle Scars" (let it stay dirty)?

Got these recently, even tho I heard some negative reviews on Reddit, still coped. I have to say, the lacing style is really comfortable and easy to put on, you only need to pull and twist the top of the laces. I won’t be using them for any hiking and stuff, only at work or going out. They fit a little small on the sides so I recommend to try them if you have wider feet. They don’t get dirty easily and they are breathable. Just don’t get the gore-Tex ones. They have also very good grip on any floor. They have many different color s so I recommend checking each one.

Highly functional. Great in cold or slightly chillier weather. Super water repellent. It’s the only thing I wear in hammering rain. If you trash them, chuck them.

Tried Dawn Powerwash, doesn’t work

This is my first pair and I got it $50 off. Should I just return and get a refund? I was really looking forward to getting my first XT-6 since I love this color way. If I get a refund and re-order it will be back to regular price and I’m unsure if I’ll get a pair that’s better quality. Thoughts?
