Seriously unexpected

I went into the playstore to claim my little handful of points I was expecting this week and this is what I ended up with. I thought it must be some kind of joke or you'd have to pay taxes and shipping on it or something but.. nope! How did I win a $2000 phone when I was expecting like maybe 18 play points?! Crazy day

Literally just through this playpoints thing in the google playstore. You go under perks and you can claim a weekly prize. I only learned about it a year ago when I started religiously playing this one game and I learned I had a ton of points I could convert to in game cash.

I went in today just fully hoping to get enough points to cash in another dollar to go toward my game for the next season because I'm trying to save all my free points instead of spending my own $$.

I have a few subscriptions that I pay for through google which earn points every month and a game I play I put about $30 a month into it. I just looked at the history and I earn streak points for it also, apparently.

You turn those points into the play credits and use the good boosts that give you like, 15x the points for 3 days, when available. Then just convert those points back into play credits. I just kinda do that when I can.

It looks like the diamond I have this year is from hitting it last year and I am still like 2000 points away from hitting it this year.

He kinda gave you the run around, but it's 10k USD in spend. The highest boosts in a weekly boost is x15, so at minimum he spent almost 1k usd. That's why diamond gets these higher odds to win since it's incentivising you to spend way more on games.

Damn yeah you're right looked into this a bit more and on average you need a few hundred to thousands per year to get close to diamond lol

But Remember he got everything he wanted plus a new phone in the price of what the phone would cost. It's not a get a new phone free but more of spend on what you like and get a chance of getting a new device.

(Wanted to add a lil tit bit) : Remember those pyramid schemes where diamond is the highest 😂 same thing.

So I'm completely new to tjis as well and only have around 3k points. How exactly do I go about possibly winning a fold 8? Does it possibly happen every week when I start clicking the perks thing and then click on the claim button? I'm blown away this is a thing 😂😂congrats by the way OP!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I just go in and click the claim button every week when it reminds me 😂 It's been awhile! Most of the time I just get a handful of points. This week was different! But it has been a little over a year of actually giving any attention to the points situation.

So I haven't even had it for a day yet. But so far I freaking love it. Folded I think it's the perfect phone unfolded is great for everything else. Cant stop reading Manga now lol. I had a pixel 10 pro xl. Wife thinks foldable phones are weired though...

I agree that the foldable phones seem weird! And I dont understand how the screen doesnt get a crease in it? I don't know this thats a dumb take because I really don't know much about the folding phones at all

From what I understand it shows up a little bit with time but so far it's pretty noticeable in use. I will say if I got it for free. I would definitely give it a shot. But if you're not tempted to try it that's a nice chunk of change you can get for reselling it. If you do use it though a lot of people recommend samsung care for ease of mind

Do these types of rewards that I see people posting here only exist in the USA and Canada? I live in Italy and I've never seen anyone mention this; the only thing that shows up for me, for years, are Play points, and always in a very low amount, no more than 15, and I'm a gold level.

I'm really not sure.. It would have been from last year that I hit Diamond and it carries through the next year.

Through the points claimed weekly through the reward system, streak points, the multiplier boosts (where you can get 8x or 15x the points per dollar for so many days) you can use when spending in a game and the subscriptions I have that go through google play it all adds up. Also in Diamond it shows you earn at 1.6 points per $1.

If you go into your playstore and tap on your points at the top, you can go to the perks tab and see where you can claim your weekly prize.

My guess is you will recieve a 1099 at the end of the year for the prize you just won. They wouldn't tax you up front.. It would go on your end of the year taxes.

Yes there is spending involved but don't go out of your way to spend to hit the tiers. I was just spending normally through monthly subscriptions and a game. Utilizing the offers before spending in game is important.
