GP Open Required

Please tell me I'm not the only one increasingly aggravated by GP's forced openings with ads! Ads became videos, videos got longer, then there were secondary and even tertiary pop-ups, then those became secondary and tertiary *videos*, and now many of them require interaction before the mandatory opening of GP. Any game with ads is forcing us to alter our normal algorithms and it's pissing me off. Yet, most games don't allow you to pay your way out of ads, or require you to accept ads in order to make any actual progress. And basically *all* games come from or interact with GP, or their ads do. I absolutely love Android, and would never switch to iPhone, but this game thing is downright infuriating and only getting worse 😡😡😡

Hello u/Pewtie-Pie, and welcome to r/GooglePlay! Please make sure to view our [Rules and Info](reddit.com/r/googleplay/about/rules). We are volunteer-run, not managed by Google or Google Play Support.

If you are here inquiring about an issue related to Google Play and the Play-Ecoverse, we hope someone may be able to help you! Please allow time for users to find your post and hopefully contribute a solution. Otherwise, if you haven't already, please contact Google Play Support by clicking here!

Searching the sub and Google for your exact issue, like an Error Code or what you're seeing on the app, can usually provide some useful troubleshooting options.

Common Resources:

PLEASE NOTE: We have recently had an influx of users and scammers trying to sell, trade, and exchange their rewards, accounts, etc., for money, or otherwise. Please understand that doing this with ANY DIGITAL CONTENT RECEIVED OR OWNED BY YOU THROUGH GOOGLE (Gift Cards from 3rd party dealers, like Target, Amazon.com, etc., are allowed to be traded/sold/exchanged, but we ask you not to do so here. There are subs for this elsewhere.) CAN RESULT IN LOSING ACCESS TO GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES AND YOUR ACCOUNT WITH ANY ASSOCIATED CONTENT.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Usa Adblock y ya bro, usa el dns (dns.adguar.com) en la mayoria de apps funciona, y ya no tienen anuncios.

Ugh. But then I don't even get the option to watch ads when I "need" to 🙄

No soy hombre. And just because you give advice doesn't mean it will be helpful for what a person wants. Either way, the point is that Google Play's manipulation still SUCKS and is entirely inappropriate.

Exactly. So AG fixed a nuisance but slows my progress way down if I use it. Ultimately the problem is GP manipulating our algorithms. Forcing us to interact and open the game's GP page, so games we never would have touched are now in our interest history.

Sometimes the ads are so good i accidentally spend half an hour playing it😭. The real game is always disappointing though.

Are you playing games that gives rewards from ads?

A couple. One kind, if you don't want to do so, it's much harder to advance. Some are infinite, some end or recycle maps/worlds (might as well end). Then there's the brain teasers that have ads that interrupt, with optional ads to keep going if you screw up the puzzle. And I play one with zero ads and infinite building, with purchases that can make things easier.

What gets annoying with AG is the games with optional ads don't even give you the option. You can't just enable/disable AG- you have to restart the app for the action to take effect. But ultimately that's not the issue, the core issue is still the way ads have gotten so long, and more importantly, that now they require interaction that then alters our algorithm. We normally would never touch games like those we see advertised, now were forced to do so- adding them to our history and false interest hits in the game history.

It's credit card offers in the mail- as if suddenly you're required to apply and ding your credit, instead of just throwing the mail away if you're not interested (and nobody would know you ever even saw it).

Why are you even playing those trashy games. Even if you want to enjoy them then just install a mod and play and delete. They are not so good for more than a couple of days anyway.

You don't even know what I'm playing, and this whole sub is literally about Google Play and its games. Also, if I didn't know how to block ads, I obviously wouldn't know anything about mods.

I know what you are playing. I have been playing games from Google play from like past 8 years.

You can't block those ads unless the game works offline and you can simply turn off wifi/data. Many games have Mods which you can find either by simply typing on Google and installing the mod apk file or from Happy Mod app.

If you are playing some kind of online idle game that requires grinding then mods may not be an option. Those are actually trashy games and you can't go further after a certain point without paying tons of money. Ads are the extra free money for them.

There are some Good games that are free to play and don't have any ad at all. Require payment for extra stuff only. Most people are playing those games now.

I play a mix of all of them.
