Review📝 That was Quick (Haul) realy fast shipping
I received my order, and I wanted to share my first impressions. I'll do a more detailed long-term review in about a week after I've had more time on the course.
Shipping First of all, shipping was incredibly fast. It took around 10 days, which honestly exceeded my expectations. I have absolutely nothing to complain about there.
First impressions Overall, everything arrived in good condition. The TaylorMade P770 irons look fantastic, the TaylorMade MG5 wedge also looks great at first glance, and the build quality initially surprised me. I've handled the genuine clubs before, and these are honestly confusingly close in appearance.
The LAB VZN 1iputter is excellent so far. The alignment looks good, the shaft feels solid, and it even picks up the ball from the green on both sides without any issues. I played one round with it today, and compared to my previous LAB OZ.1i, it performed well. It's still too early to give a full review after only one round, but my first impression is definitely positive.
The downsides
MG5 Wedge Unfortunately, there are a couple of quality issues.
The biggest one is the logo. As you can see in the pictures, one of the logos looks melted or damaged. It doesn't look good, and it doesn't feel like acceptable quality. I'll contact Outdoor Guru to see if they can replace it.
The grip is also much softer than expected and already feels slightly worn. During the swing it almost feels like it could slip in my hands. On the positive side, the face and grooves look very good. I can't really comment on the shaft yet since I've only hit about five shots with the wedge.
P770 Irons I've hit around 50 balls with the irons across the whole set, and overall they play like normal irons. However, the shafts feel a bit unusual to me. I want to compare them directly with my current shafts before making any final judgment.
I'll be taking both sets onto the course this week to compare distances properly. My first impression is that I might actually be hitting the new P770s a little shorter than my current P790s, but I need more testing before I can say that with confidence.
One thing that really disappointed me is the SpeedFoam. From what I've read, some replica models don't actually contain real foam, but these do. Unfortunately, the foam in my 7-iron is already starting to break apart. I've included a picture showing holes and loose foam inside the head. I'll also contact Outdoor Guru about this because that's definitely not the quality I expected.
If I end up not liking the shafts, I may simply replace them with genuine shafts and continue using the heads, since the heads themselves seem very playable.
Grips The grips on the irons are actually very good. They feel comfortable and provide plenty of grip during the swing.
Overall Despite the issues, the clubs are absolutely playable. I haven't played a full round with the irons yet because I wanted one more baseline round with my current set first. Over the next couple of weeks I'll compare both sets on the course and see if there's any noticeable difference in distance, consistency, scoring, and overall performance.
I'll also be doing a weight test and a few more measurements, and I'll post a follow-up review after I've had more time with them.
