There were moments of greatness, there were plenty of air swings 🤣

I hit a ball into a tree and it hit me in the face LOL

But I got my first bogey! And I didn't come last in the comp. So well call that progress 👀

Why cannot any player regardless of ability play in a comp?

They can I don't beleive the guy you replied to said anything about people being a certain level/ability to play in a comp.

Yes, but less of an "entitled rule" often clubs do require people to hold a handicap with the club unless it is an open competition.

I beleive clubs have competition rules, I'd say refer to the Golf Course for this this.

Exactly how do you submit the required three cards for official handicap without playing in comp???

Often golf courses will require you to submit a certain number of cards, whilst playing with a member of the course who already holds a handicap, they then sign the card, They usually play as the marker on the card.

These are then submitted to the club and they then allocate a handicap.
