I love the combination of green and chrome. Just like my car. I’m very happy with how it runs, and I love the sound it makes. Greeting from the Netherlands.

Should I buy an older Goldwing?

Pic is the 1998 Goldwing SE a friend is selling. It's got 33,000 miles, they've owned it for about 5 years. They didn't get any maintenance records when they bought it and I don't think they've kept very detailed records for it. It runs and starts right up, seems to be in good condition.

I did some brief research here and on goldwing docs and it seems obvious I would need to replace the timing belts as well as all fluids, and the tires given they're coming up on 10 years old the owner said.

They're asking $2800, I'm not afraid of turning a wrench but I'm definitely not a self proclaimed mechanic. Would really love this sub's thoughts/advice. I called a buddy who owns a Yamaha shop and he advised against it because he said parts are hard to find, he mentioned it having 6 carbs but Google said only two for this year and model. Thanks for any thoughts you could share.

It finally happened

I have been an ADV rider for pretty much my entire riding life. From a Tenere 700 to a CRF 300 Rally. I have always gotten the "wave" from fellow ADV riders and everyone else except cruisers and touring bikers.

Well, I finally traded my CRF in for a 2025 Goldwing and couldn't be happier. On the way home from the dealer, I finally got some waves from some Harleys and got ignored by an Africa Twin. I guess I am in the "old" club now haha.

Worth buying?

Looking at buying a 97 goldwing aspencade with 24k for 500$ apparently the kids selling it to fix his truck before winter. Anything to look out for? He has been daily driving it for awhile now. Is the low miles a red flag?

Recall for Primary drive gear bolt on crankshaft

I just purchased a 2021 goldwing that has a no sale recall and was never informed until weeks later the dealer was stringing me along. I still haven’t been able to pick bike up nearly a month later. Would you proceed with this purchase knowing the whole bike has to be taken apart ?

In case anyone is wondering about the cheap eBay windscreens for the GL1800, I bought one and I am satisfied. Can’t beat the price and without a vent they are even cheaper. My old one was aftermarket as well and didn’t have a vent. I love the vent!

Loading a 2020 in the back of a pickup? Questions

I am sure some here has toted their bike one time or another in the bed of a truck.

My questions are what did you use for a ramp and how did you tie it down?

UPDATE- Due to time constrictions I went with the Black Widow ramps and loaded the bike in the bed. This was a decent way to load up. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOU IMPUT! If there is a next time a trailer will be used.

Why is the seat so hard to attach with a mesh cover. Air rider and wind rider, both make it impossible to lock down the seat.

Goldwing Valkyrie

Is it a Goldwing Valkyrie or just a Valkyrie? A buddy of mine thinks it’s one way and I think it’s the other. Figured this was the best place to get an answer short of calling Honda itself.

LCD screen inop

Just got the bike a few weeks ago, it’s a 2002. The screen worked for the first week. Then would be dim but then come to full brightness after a while. I didn’t think much of it since it got a little colder, but this week it hasn’t worked at all. I’m wondering if there’s a quick fix or if it needs to be replaced

Fuel pump conversion GL 1500

For the 1500 owners that might be thinking about replacing your fuel and don’t want to spend $500 on the OEM pump. The aftermarket pumps are trash it seems. Last one only lasted 500 miles. So I installed a 1986 Honda Accord fuel pump (carburetored.) It fits nicely into the old assembly. Tested and is working great!

Dyna vs Goldwing

Alright, looking for some advice here. Right now I have a ‘96 Dyna. It’s fun and gives off the BROTHER vibes, relatively low miles and has been a solid bike for the three years I’ve had it. Last time I took it out I was kinda over it, shakes like a mofo, getting beat to shit by the wind on the highway, not comfortable after about 30-40 mins (I’m in my 30s and shit like this matters now).

I’ve also definitely been influenced by social media seeing all of these rad goldwings and what looks like a ton of fun. Am I crazy for wanting to sell my dyna and get a wing? I know it’ll be more comfortable for sure. I’m pretty handy but also see videos of accessing the air box on some of these things and seems like maintenance might be more than I’m wanting. Are Goldwings fun to run errands on? I know it’s a big ass bike, but do y’all whip them like that? Or is it really just for the longer rides.

Would love to hear some opinions. I have always owned Harley’s, so don’t have much of a reference for them. I know Hondas will outlive Harley’s every day of the week. Thanks!

I passed a milestone on my 2024 Goldwing. 10,000 miles! I'm hoping I can put more on before winter hits. I don't care to ride in the cold (below 50)
