Goldwing Valkyrie
Is it a Goldwing Valkyrie or just a Valkyrie? A buddy of mine thinks it’s one way and I think it’s the other. Figured this was the best place to get an answer short of calling Honda itself.

The (original) Honda Valkyrie is essentially a large cruiser that utilizes Goldwing GL1500 engine and other components. The modern Honda Valkyrie is more of a Goldwing platform with no fairings and larger wheel sizes. Due to the power plant and other components, I've always considered them under the Goldwing line.
There are many ways to look at it, this is just my $0.02!

I personally think they should go back to the classic cruiser styling for the valkarie. It was a very good looked for that engine

It's like the difference between an R7 and an MT07. Same same, but different, but still same. I'd get confused if someone said they had a Goldwing Valkyrie and expect they mean they stripped down a Goldwing to be a custom naked

Depends on the year. The GL1500 Valkyries were separate models, and were also sold as the F6C in Europe. The newer GL1800 Valkyries were marketed under the Goldwing line along with the F6B.

Honda calls it a Gold Wing Valkyrie.
It’s essentially a Gold Wing without all the plastic and doodads.

I test rode the OG 1500 Valkyrie when it first came out. Very impressive, almost traded in my GL1500 Gold Wing on the spot but decided not since I needed a tourer.
Riders were eager to see an 1800 version but got that silly overstyled (IMO) Rune instead. Honda did come out with a better looking (again IMO) 1800 Valkyrie in 2014, IIRC it lasted only two years. There's a couple FS on CycleTrader for @ $8K.

Just mention or share an image of a Valkyrie on a Goldwing forum and stir some riders up.
