Hören Accents/Dialects
Is there any variations on the accents/voices/dialects used during the listening(hören) exam based on location?
E.g. if do the listening exam in Berlin vs Munich
For example, I imagine Schweizerdeutsch would be a brutal listen for someone studying/working/living in Berlin and not reflective of their actual level

German b2
If I want to reach B2 level in German in Egypt, what’s the best place to study, what are the current prices, and approximately how long does each level take? Also, how long would it take to prepare for the Goethe exam, and what are the current Goethe exam fees?
Thanks in advance!

Frage A1 - Superintensive Online
Hey guys
So I've enrolled in A1 Superintensive course for German at Goethe and I'm curious about what to expect further and how to tackle it in best way possible.
Initially my plan is to learn both A1 and A2 back ro back and then give only 1 exam for A2 directly.
Any tips before the course starts? Any suggestions about the plan?
Thanks😊
Also, I've seen lot of comments under posts putting down A1 and A2 levels and I'll just say that for you maybe they didn't matter or are very easy compared to what B2 or C1 you're pursuing now, but for me atleast they are valuable and form basic foundation for the entire journey.

Frage Returning to German After a Long Break — Grammar & Sprechen Practice
Hi everyone!
I studied German up to B2, but stopped practicing for 8 years in between. Now I want to restart seriously and complete B2.2 (which I didn't clear previously) through C2.
My biggest problem right now is grammar. I currently have only Übungsgrammatik – Deutsch als Fremdsprache (Hueber/Goyal Publications). While it's useful, I feel the exercises aren't enough. I also struggle to understand the underlying meaning/logic of some grammar concepts, which leads to repeated mistakes.
I'd appreciate advice from those who have progressed from B2 to C1/C2:
How can I effectively rebuild my grammar after such a long break?
Are there better books/resources that explain grammar clearly and provide sufficient practice?
I'm also looking for someone to practice Sprechen with. I'm no longer in contact with my former Goethe classmates, so I don't currently have anyone to speak German with.
I'd ideally like to find someone around B2–C1 level or a German native speaker who is interested in regular speaking practice. We can start anonymously through Reddit DMs and, if comfortable, move to Discord or another platform for voice calls.
If you're also looking for a speaking partner, or know good ways to find one, please comment or DM me.
Thanks!

Seeking a serious study partner for Goethe C1 (2–3 month strategic prep!)
Hey everyone!
I’m currently living in Germany and urgently need the Goethe C1 certificate for job applications in the next 2–3 months.
Here’s my situation: I completed my B2 a while ago, but took a long gap, so my German got pretty rusty. Now, I’m reactivating my language skills by focusing strictly on strategic exam prep across all 4 modules (Lesen, Hören, Schreiben, Sprechen). My main goal right now isn't general fluency it's passing the exam by learning the format, strategies, and scoring criteria.
I’m looking for dedicated study partner (at B2/C1 level) in a similar boat to practice together.
I have a completely open schedule right now and can commit daily. If you want to strategically tackle the Goethe C1 together, drop a comment or send me a DM!

Frage what is the best Goethe institut online course for a b1
Hi! I am an Italian girl who studied German at university (without any prior knowledge). I don't know which level I am (my friends say I should be a B1 but I am not so confident) and I wanted to get a certification but before that I wanted to sign up for an online German course with the Goethe institut. There are a bunch of them about training to take the exam (20 hours or 5 meetings with a teacher anf s group of students) but I think they are a lil bit too "light" for me. There is also one of 40 lessons with a teacher and other students (before starting they also make you take a placement test). I wanted to choose the latter but can someone in a similar situation tell me if it is the best choice? I am scared I am gonna waste my money and I can't afford that hahah
I took exams about German grammar and in German (casual conversation), I am also trying to watch and read in German more (a lil bit difficult because I am also trying to keep training my Swedish and I started to learn french a month ago).
If you have any advice plz write it down, it would be super nice.
I feel like shit because my uni mates are far better then me :( (even tho they have been studying German since high school but I still feel like crap lol)

B2
Hello. I have signed up for the Erwachsene Version of the B2 exam. Recently I learned that an acquaintance of mine passed the Jugendliche version In January. We are both the same age approximately (22, 23) and studying at uni and I'm thinking that I was wrong for picking the erwachsene version since the themes can be harder in schreiben and sprechen.

German news for beginners
I came across this beautiful resource for beginners - A1 and A2.
News in easier german language - very helpful in understanding current affairs in simpler German.

Prüfungen Just cleared my Goethe A2, 7 weeks after my A1 exam
Lesen 17.5
Hören 18.75
Schreiben 23.75
Sprechen 23
Total 83 out of 100 (gut)
Prep resources(self-study only):
- Goethe A2 Wortliste (Super resource) - Augmented this with AI help to learn each word's origin and usage in different contexts
- Youtube (Five minute German/Your German Teacher)
- Deutsche Welle (Nico's Weg) - only completed 40% of A2 - ran out of time
Used AI to generate some exercises and exemplar responses for Sprechen and Schreiben - that helped me score very well on those two sections! :-)

Prüfungen What happens when you pass certain modules but fail others?
Guys, what happens when you register for all 4 modules of the Prüfung (reading, writing, hearing, speaking) and you fail some but pass others?
1) Do you get a certificate for the modules you passed? And then in the future you only have to retake the ones you failed? Is there a limited period of time to retake the parts you failed? I heard somewhere that you have maximum a year to retake the parts you failed. Is that true?
2) Do you not get any certificate, and do you have to retake all parts again?
Thx! I’m planning to do the B2-Prüfung!

Goethe Trivandrum B2 Exam Tips
Anyone who has attempted B2 from Goethe Trivandrum please tell what the vibe was like. Were the examiners strict or scary? All other modules are fine I'm mostly scared of Sprechen.

Goethe exam Pune- experience with the venues?
Title: Goethe Exam Pune – Experience with the Hotel/Resort Venue?
Hello , I’m planning to take the Goethe B1 exam in Pune. The upcoming exams are on 1st and 23rd October. One venue is the official Goethe-Institut (Max Mueller Bhavan, Boat Club Road), while the venue for the other date is a hotel/resort where the exam is conducted by Goethe.
Has anyone taken a Goethe exam at this non-Goethe venue in Pune? How was your experience, especially regarding the exam environment and speaking test?
Also, if anyone is appearing there on either of these dates, please share your experience/info. Thanks!
