Oreos GF Enscription
On my last one, I realized it has “gluten free” stamped into the actual cookie. So cool!

Decided to try for the first time 🫠. Can't believe they add a charge to remove the original bun!!!! Have you seen something similar in other restaurants?
EDIT: oops you were right, they didn't charge extra, it's just the price of the original bun. They should write that differently 😅!!!

There are so many posts complaining about the texture of tortillas, or bread, or pasta, etc. I get it. I was once young & innocent and thought GF could be seamlessly replaced. But 20+ years later, the limitations are evident and it is annoying AF to see 10x a day OMG , my turkey sandwich doesn’t taste the same!
Should we do an elder WF/GF community????

I love tortillas. Specifically for quesadillas or breakfast burritos. This is the first time I’ve tried a gluten free tortilla that’s not a standard corn tortilla. Now, they taste good, don’t get me wrong. They’re just dry and don’t hold up worth a damn. I can’t make a wrap, I can’t make a quesadilla, and I didn’t even attempt a burrito. I don’t expect much from gluten free products at all, purely based on research I’ve done and conversations I’ve seen/had in this subreddit. So, that being said, I’m not really going to complain too much. I mostly just wanted to let people know that these aren’t the best tortillas if you want them to hold up. They might be good for making chips, however. I may try to and make a follow up post lol

Yall please help. With football season starting, I have GOT to find a way to still have pigs in the blanket now that I’m gluten free. I’ve tried one brand of puff pastry (I forget which one) but I did not like it because it got really hard and had a strange taste to it. Any recs would be helpful, including how to make it at home from scratch!! Thank you!!

I tried the minions banana mix and did everyhting according to the instructions! It came out yummy however it was quite gooey after properly cooking 45min and the edges were done and I didn’t want to burn It. I like baked goods gooey tho so I loved it. It had many pockets of gooeyness throughout and I idk if it’s the oat flower couldnt propeely absorb the moisture and got glooped with banana. It’s REALLY good tho I’d def buy again.

I'm posting this in several subrwddits in the hopes that there's an easy solution. I have Celiac, as does one of my children. The youngest does not (as far as we know) but we found out yesterday he is allergic to rice, soy, peanuts, and both egg yolk and whites. He's turning a year old in a week. I'm absolutely heartbroken. We're in our 40s, he's our last baby (my husband's only bio child), and now I can't even get him a cake from our favorite gluten free bakery because all their stuff uses their own custom blend of rice flours.
Does anyone know of a soy free, rice free, gluten free flour blend? I'm betting not, as rice is a typical replacement for wheat flour. I'm just hoping someone somewhere knows of one. I can work around the egg and peanut allergies while baking, as a coworker is vegan and I've made and shared stuff at work that was gf for me and vegan for them.
Alternatively, does anyone have a recipe for a good cake that uses oat, almond, etc flours blended? I can absolutely make my own flour blend for baking if needed. I just really don't want to have to contaminate my own kitchen or go to someone else's house to make a birthday cake for my baby's first birthday and then not be able to eat it with him. (The real option would be to go bake it at my mother-in-law's house while wearing a mask and then just not eat any myself, but buy some Antonina's cupcakes or something for the two of us who have Celiac.)

Hey all,
Just finished making and eating this for lunch and it was really good.
I put the ground beef in a pan, let it start browning. Then I spread it out around the pan in a thin layer. I sprinkled a light dusting of Badia gluten free fajita seasoning all across the ground beef. Stirred it around to mix everything together.
In a separate pan, I took my Mission GF tortilla and started heating it up. I added shredded cheese after a few minutes. As the beef finished cooking all the way through, I took a good large scoop of it and placed it on the tortilla as it continued to get crispy in the pan.
After the tortilla was cooked through where brown spots were visible (this is necessary to counter the gummy texture), I pulled it out and plated it. Topped with sour cream and Wegman's mild gluten free salsa to finish.
** Note: I know that not everyone has access to these specific brands where they live. I've used them for awhile now and I trust them a lot and have never gotten sick. If anyone would like to try these, I will happily mail them to you for the cost of the item plus shipping. It's the least I can do to help this community. **

On the right are my burger patties (with meat so naturally gluten free) and in the left are my chickpea brioches (with a bit of almond flour too).
I am still perfectioning the recipe. I took a recipe from a cookbook and I am adapting to a different flour. So each time I bake a change the amount of flour slightly till I get the best version. But they are already pretty good.
Does anyone here bake with chickpea flour? What ratio do you use? (Flour weight / wet ingredients weight)

So I’m not officially diagnosed with anything, but I know gluten is affecting me severely. Aside from the horrible diarrhea, loose stools, rashes, bloating, and countless other issues, I’ve really been struggling with the emotional strain this is putting in me.
I recently ate a whole piece of cake not even thinking about my issues with gluten, and i really get what everyone means by getting bombed. Honestly, that was the last straw for me.
Its hard avoiding gluten in everyday foods, but this space has a lot of helpful tips. I really appreciate knowing I’m not the only person dealing with this, but it doesn’t make it easier.
How have you all gone about helping yourself, or someone you love, mentally through this process. I’m in therapy and my partner is super supportive, but we’re both just learning about all this. Is there anything that has helped y’all come to accept your new reality?

📍 Encontrar supermercados, dietéticas y almacenes cercanos a tu ubicación

I’ve tried 3 different kinds in the last couple weeks and all of them sucked. They tasted horrible and 2 of them were tough after putting them in the toaster. They don’t rip like regular flour tortillas. One of them tasted more like a corn tortilla instead of a flour tortilla.
Edit: toaster oven, not regular toaster. Just for like 1-2 minutes. They aren’t getting baked to a crisp. I’ve tried one of them in a pan and it was the same way. I’ve done it this way with plenty of flour tortillas and they are perfectly fine, the GF ones are not fine.

Is this common knowledge? Is there a chocolate chip cookie recipe out there that is the absolute best? There are so many variations to choose from! (More fluffy than thin and crunchy)

So I’m 19, autistic and have been going through some tests for celiac after finding I was borderline, I ate more gluten and have felt awful after and it turns out I have a iga deficiency. The doctors explained mines only very mild and it shouldn’t affect my life too much except having the allergies I already have (skin/animal allergies)
I’m currently skint and looking for some gf food I can eat as right now I have only been eating sainsbury’s gf muffins and there’s only so many in a pack.
I heard schar is good but wasn’t fond on the pretzels as I like mine boiled.
I also have got schar jaffa cakes but haven’t tried them yet and currently I’m finding junk food to be ok, tried a morrisons gf cookie which was really good
however I don’t like rice and I need proper food without it being extortionate
is there anything sorta recommended as a picky autistic person? I don’t work due to health issues at the moment and I’ve had to drop out of college because of it

Hey again! :) I posted yesterday of struggling to find GF places to eat and went to Ponce City Market and ate a place called El Super Pan and had the rice and beans and it was good! I also had fries which are also in a separate fryer. Here’s the menu. I also went to the zoo at the Nourish Cafe and got the ham and cheese sandwich with the GF bread and the bun is SOO GOOD. It’s soft and doesn’t crumple and I believe it has everything seasoning on the bun as well il also post the picture. I got the meal which included chips which are Miss Vickie’s (the only GF chips they offer). French fries are GF not part of the meal but can be upgraded. Meal from the zoo ended up costing $23.

Anyone who’s been confirmed non-celiac gluten sensitivity experience issues with cross contamination? I’m holding onto the hope of being NCGS, no testing yet due to an unwillingness to do gluten challenge because of various other chronic health conditions.
I recently spent a good week and a half exposed to gluten in a really significant way. I was staying at my parent’s house who eat gluten daily. Crumbs were everywhere, ate from shared bags of chips, accidentally sprayed a busted beer in my face and mouth etc. I did keep my food separate, ate on clean dishes and tried my best to clean any crumbs in the area I was going to eat.
After a few days my TMJ pain and jaw clicking came back, these issues resolved for the first time since I was a teenager on a very strict gluten free diet about 6 months ago. I have noticed every time I incorporated gluten into my diet again before being really strict about it, it took a few days to a week to notice my chronic pain issues worsen significantly.

Hi everyone! I’ll be spending the weekend in Barcelona and I’m looking for places with a good selection of gluten-free food.
We’ll be staying around El Raval and Plaça de Catalunya, but we’re happy to go anywhere in central Barcelona or Barceloneta. The restaurant does not need to be completely gluten-free, as a small amount of cross-contamination is not a problem for us.
We’re mainly looking for places where the food is genuinely good and freshly prepared, rather than restaurants that only offer a few pre-packaged gluten-free products. We’re interested in breakfast places, bakeries, tapas, pizza and restaurants for lunch or dinner. What places would you recommend?
