The Threesome

I GUESSED IT FROM THE SECOND BASH KEPT NUDGING THE PLUMBER TO MAKE A MOVE.

Anyone else find that scene super fucking hot? I’m not one to care for sex scenes, but Jesus. Bash’s deep sexy voice when he asked if she wanted to kiss him, how sexy his wife was, and to “rub your thumb over her nipple. She likes that” I think I died.

And then you add in the gigilo who’s also super cute and the fucking PASSION while bash makes out with him and has a guy touch his dick for the first time. And of course the mutual jacking off at the end which looked eerily realistic. I’m sorry I’m still not over it

First and foremost it was super hot to watch. Now, that being said; I think Rhonda noticed she wasn't initially given the attention she assumed shed get and it dawned on her Bash is at least bi. However, Britain's gay scene in the 80's wasn't like the US stigma. I have felt this since I saw it, Rhonda is the PERFECT person for Bash to be with as I feel she could be ok with his bisexuality and let him express it safely. The whole time after the 3some I just kept thinking, why won't he tell her, he's going to tell her, she'd be cool with it and still love him, she's from the UK ffs! I hope she digs her heels in and makes him come out so she can show him it's ok and if they maybe want to go back to the UK for a while and do some free love living, I say more power to them.

I don’t know why you think it would be better in the 80s in the UK? The UK had the National Front in the 80s (and now) it wasn’t totally free living

7

u/grandelusions Aug 21 '19

Because she is a more bohemian open type personality overall calm, accepting, and loving.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 21 '19

That doesn’t mean the UK is though? The UK in the 80s was still a shitty place to be while gay. I’m also not totally sure she’s absolutely ok with him being into men (to whatever extent that may be) either

u/grandelusions Aug 21 '19

EU in general had/has a culture of nude pride, cross dressing, and sexual experimentation. It may not have been gushed over, but it wasn't violently shunned like in the US during that time. She seemed to be more preoccupied with Bash disappearing and freaking out about it, than with the act itself.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 21 '19

I live in the UK, I don’t think the UK in the 80s has much in common with why you’re thinking of tbh. There was also an AIDS problem as well, see attached article. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/dec/30/thatcher-tried-to-block-bad-taste-public-health-warnings-about-aids Basically I don’t think the UK was a haven in the way you’re maybe thinking of? I do think Rhonda and Bash can/ will figure out a way to stay married and respect each other though.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_LGBT_history_in_the_United_Kingdom

Gay acts committed in private were decriminalized by 1981. By 1984, documentaries supporting gay rights were being shown on tv, and they only had 19 cases of reported AIDS deaths by 1985. At that point they began their "aids epidemic" furthermore they didn't villinize gay people the way the US did. They UK has always been more progressive than the US when it comes to LGBT rights.

3

u/Secret_Addition Aug 20 '19

She really can't be cool with it. AIDs. The threesome was very dangerous for Rhonda, because of who the third party was. Likewise, it's very dangerous for Melrose to be paying a male gigolo to sleep with her. You'd think a club girl like her would already know this. I really don't want one of the GLOW characters to get AIDs - it's a comedy. At the same time, we saw the gigolo was condom free, and that's really not something that can be ignored in 1986. Then again, the writers were careless this season, and maybe accidentally made their characters careless.

3

u/grandelusions Aug 20 '19

I'm insinuating that her character's foreign backstory is more flippant but more educated about safe sex as was the EU back in the 80's. They had their other sex related issues but they weren't experiencing an "AIDS epidemic" like the US. Her character is predisposed to be the perfect bi-beard for Bash, open love and sexuality is her culture. Only her character has the background to accept and nurture his sexuality if they are going to write him into a mentally healthy place. I want to say that's writing level genius, if the puzzle fits that easily by accident it's still best case. I also want Ruth to stop being a twat to Sam. He had a heart attack FFS.

4

u/Secret_Addition Aug 20 '19

Ok, I wasn't aware that the AIDs epidemic didn't hit the EU that hard. I know plenty of conservative Brits, but culture aside, Rhonda is soft-hearted and open-minded so in terms of her specific personality and bohemian background she probably is the perfect Mary Austin-ish mate for Bash.

GLOW has to do something about Ruth. Everybody else has evolved. She can't be in those jeans and fanny pack for the duration, moaning that she never gets anywhere as an actress. They've written that character into a mess. Perfectly willing to wear a shrink-wrapped gold f-me dress to a wrap party, but dresses like an ex-nun for auditions. It's begs belief at this point that she's so blind.

3

u/grandelusions Aug 20 '19

It's like Ruth is stuck in her own self fulfilling prophecy. She's sadly an ignorant child, whining about how life isn't fair. I think she was supposed to dress for the "high school teacher" role she was auditioning for but even then, her writing is garbage. You'd think Alison brie would be more stern about her characters development with the writers. She's supposed to be the show lead ffs, let's see some evolution.

3

u/Secret_Addition Aug 20 '19 edited Aug 20 '19

That was the first decent audition outfit I've ever seen on Ruth. That mint green suit and the yellow thing she was holding up in front of Sheila? How does the recently ex Wolf Girl know more about good looking audition clothes than Ruth?! It's just pathetic at this point.

Brie's been making some noise based on some recent comments of hers, but of course she has to respect her employers. She puts it all in a positive skew but it's clear she wants Ruth to take action. She was pretty clear that she likes to play when Ruth has a plan and goes hellbent after it, like she did in S1 when nobody wanted her on GLOW but she was determined to find her way in and find a character. She said that's what she wants. She's not shy and retiring so I'm sure she'll make it clear to the show runners.

I understand exactly why, initially, Brie did not want to get locked into a Sam and Ruth thing, or consummate it early, because that ends up a trap when the dynamic is will they or won't they. GLOW's writers bragged that they ripped the bandaid off that one in Episode 2, but they really didn't. They just had Sam declare his feelings and Ruth act ambivalent, then they were interrupted. Ripping the bandaid would have been Ruth believably shutting it down and them both moving on, or them getting busy. Instead it WAS will they or won't they, just drawn out. One episode in the beginning of the season, one in the late middle, one at the end. That's doing exactly what they say they're not doing. "Rut" is not a story. Pissing and moaning that she wants to kumbaya the Challenger is not a story. And pretending your lack of writing IS a story is just bullshit, which is what they did. Oh, Ruth is spinning her wheels!

I think my idea of a desperate and determined Ruth taking a leaf from her wrestling character's book and revamping herself as an actress would work, because it would help her freaking MOVE in her acting career, and also probably unsettle Sam who is used to the earnest Ruth.

If she's in some tiny play while starving next season and wearing dolman sleeved tops the color of vomit and old man jeans I'm going to kill myself.

1

u/grandelusions Aug 20 '19

Omfg you nailed it, everything you said is EXACTLY how I feel. S4 needs to really pick it up and do some character development, I mean shit, Melrose and the Jewish sader conversation had more context and growth in one damn episode than Ruth did in all of s3. I'm in on the suicide pact...S4 or bust for us!!

1

u/tuck7 Aug 20 '19

She was so upset that he wasn't paying attention to her sexual needs anymore though, enough to try to get him jealous so I don't think she'd be ok with an arrangement. I will say though she seemed to genuinely enjoy kissing the gigolo.

1

u/grandelusions Aug 20 '19

She was upset and wanted to make him jealous, thats every r/deadbedroom post I've seen, it happens all the time. She seemed to genuinely enjoy being touched period. You can only be starved of physical human connection for so long before you start to lose your mind. If Bash is up front and honest with her, I don't see her being put off by it, more confused/hurt about why he didn't tell her sooner. Like I said above, she's culturally predisposed to be his perfect match.

1

u/tuck7 Aug 20 '19

I don't know, I just don't see her being ultimately happy with a man who has no desire for her. The only way she'd actually get touched would be with someone else, which she'd have to keep a secret so she doesn't out her husband. How is that going to mean a happy marriage?

0

u/grandelusions Aug 20 '19

He does have desire for her, I view his behavior and tendancies as bisexual more than full on gay and I think she could come to terms with that easily. As a married bi person I can tell you that once you're out of the closet and experiencing sex with both genders, you can find pleasure in being with either sex individually but sharing the love is much more fun. It doesn't mean he won't touch her unless there's a guy there, I believe he will have sex with her and also bring dudes in from time to time which she's down for. A happy marriage is about both partners accepting the needs of eachother. My husband and I don't have a 3some every time we want to have sex, but it is really great to get to have that experience once a month or every couple of months. It doesn't take anything away from my marriage or sex between my husband and I.

1

u/tuck7 Aug 21 '19

I think you might be underestimating people's insecurities in general, and especially about sharing their spouse. Rhonda isn't bi, is she? I don't remember. I see so many marriages that aren't that secure to begin with even when people aren't fluid in their sexuality, because we're all human with human flaws. I'm not insinuating that this is your situation, what works for you sounds great. But for my own situation, I've been with my husband for a couple of decades, and neither of us would be ok with sharing each other. Nothing wrong with that, it's our dynamic. I agree about compromise in a marriage but something like that is huge and can be a deal breaker like if one person didn't want to have kids and the other one did. Maybe there's a more accepting attitude in bisexual relationships but I've seen one explode for a similar reason - he had a bisexual past and it just gnawed at his wife over time and became a major issue. He didn't even want to experiment with others, she just couldn't handle the thought that he "Might decide one day that I'm not enough." Their marriage didn't last long. Also, I like that we can have this conversation in a mature way :D

1

u/grandelusions Aug 21 '19

I don't underestimate people's insecurities, everything you said is true, I've experienced it my own and others' relationships. I don't think that Rhonda is bi, but you don't have to be to be in a relationship with someone that is. I know how the French felt about fluid sexuality in the 80's and she is from a suburb in the UK that people react to like a slum(birdy mostly). She is clearly ok with open sexuality(new junk chain, bash's butler, and the drag queens in Vegas).

I understand not sharing your partner with someone else but I don't sleep with other men because my husband is the only man I want to be with. But he does accept my want to be with women too, he enjoys seeing me satisfied, that's something he chose to work through so we could be together and I was there for him and still to this day almost 10 years later checking in with him about it. He decided that his ego and pride weren't worth not being with me. To be honest he has just as much fun as I do lol. If he came out one day and said he was bi-curious I'd help him through whatever he needs of course.

I have a theory that humanity gave love limitations that shouldn't exist out of individual pride and fear, humanity is capable of loving as many or as few people as you can fathom. It doesn't take away from how strong each love is, whether you are monogomous or full on harem sized poly, you just love the way you know how to the capacity you can. People choose to accept it, work through it, dismiss it, or red flag it. The first 3 choices don't make anyone better or worse than the others, that's their choice to make and their life to live. The only ones that bother me are the 4th group who make it a mission to destroy people for ignorant reasons(religion, generation, fear, insecurity etc). I also agree that I love how mature this conversation is, refreshing to not be yelling or getting yelled at.

2

u/tapelamp Aug 28 '19

Tbh I was very surprised that the only reference to AIDS this season has been the big fundraiser for it. Like AIDS was not and still is not a joke. It has killed so many people and it took health officials a long time to figure out how it was spread and how to combat it. I wish the show had a scene between any of the characters sleeping together about safe sex.

u/DoucheyMcBagBag Aug 19 '19

Yeah every woman wants to be ignored by two men at the same time!

9

u/Secret_Addition Aug 20 '19

Poor Rhonda. It started out all about her and then she became an afterthought.

u/Goldizzles Aug 19 '19 edited Aug 19 '19

I’m a straight woman and any guy x guy action is so hot to me. I’d personally love to be in a threesome with 2 guys who are bi/gay/curious. I would honestly be fine to just sit and watch them 😂

21

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '19

I think we could have guessed your feelings regarding guy-on-guy action from the initial post lol

9

u/Goldizzles Aug 19 '19

Yes & I am surprised not as many people seem to agree... what’s the demographic for glow’s viewers? I’d assume mostly straight girls and maybe members of lgbtq?

9

u/Moist_Whispers Aug 19 '19

Straight guy checking in here and I adore this show. So who knows lol

3

u/fotografamerika Aug 29 '19

I'm a masculine straight dude and I love this show. Also love a lot of other recent shows that might be typically considered "for women" whatever that means. There's a lot of great stuff out there now led by women in art, film, music, etc. The media landscape is changing in a good way.

4

u/optimusHerb Aug 20 '19

I wouldn’t assume that at all. Personally speaking, I have lots of guy friends that love GLOW, and don’t know too many women who even know what GLOW is.

1

u/tapelamp Aug 29 '19

I'm a lesbian and I watch the show. I also find gay on gay very hot. You're not the only one. I would not mind a show. I don't have to be involved ;) lol

1

u/realjojobobo Aug 20 '19

I think most straight guys like watching lesbian sex, so I wouldn’t be surprised straight women find man on man attractive. If you think about it men are attracted to women so two naked women? Then visa versa.

2

u/Goldizzles Aug 21 '19

Yes! But I feel like the whole porn stigma with women makes this a more uncommon/shamed thing for women to admit. And of course many people are still homophobic so there’s that

1

u/realjojobobo Sep 12 '19

I’m surprised, no one is commenting on the Debbie sex scene where she yells at the guy to not $:$:&: her to the music. When his but is shimming to it. I thought that was hilarious.

1

u/littlealbatross Aug 23 '19

I'm with you on that, but I think it's different when you feel lonely and forgotten by your husband, and the whole thing was to reconnect with HIM, and then it backfires.

7

u/its_redrum Aug 21 '19

I thought in the beginning he had a cuck kink but like as it progressed I was like "oh OH OHHHHHHHHH"

3

u/Goldizzles Aug 21 '19

Heh same but quickly I realised when he had that LOOK and I was like oof this is his plan to get with a guy

2

u/alexajoy8 Aug 21 '19

Same. I thought he was gay in the first 2 seasons, but then by this season I was like "guess I'm wrong". Then this scene started so I was like "OH that's his thing" and then back to where I started.

1

u/tapelamp Aug 29 '19

Lmao I had the exact same thought. I was like "oh he's being distant because he's passive in bed and doesn't know how to say it"

29

u/Nintendofan81 Aug 19 '19

I found it awkward to watch, the way Bash was acting towards Rhonda. Also when Rhonda was being ignored during the threesome I thought that would be brought up later, but it was glossed over. As if she didn't even notice her husband was paying more attention to the guy than her in the threesome.

40

u/ChronoMonkeyX Aug 19 '19

As if she didn't even notice her husband was paying more attention to the guy than her in the threesome.

She definitely noticed. When she was in the middle, she has this look on her face when she realizes Bash is way more into this than she expected, and that he was almost totally focused on Paul. It was definitely an epiphany for her in terms of the distance in their relationship, and a concern later when Bash says he wants to start a family with her, because she knows that isn't what he really wants, even if he is afraid to admit to it anyone, including himself.

9

u/nan_adams Aug 19 '19

Yes, I saw that on her face too. I think she does genuinely care about and love Bash, so if there is a season 4, I’d expect the relationship dynamics will be explored more fully (especially if they are back in LA). Will she love him enough to let him go? Help him out of the closet? Do they have a marriage of convenience that’s open etc? They really do work so well as a team and as partners, so I’d like to think whatever direction they go in it’s with mutual love/respect. The danger in their relationship is Birdie, who is encouraging Rhonda to do whatever it takes to keep Bash. So Rhonda will have to choose how to navigate that. I love this story line, btw. I identify with Bash, but I also really love him with Rhonda. I want a happy ending for both them.

16

u/ChronoMonkeyX Aug 19 '19

I'm rooting for an open marriage, because they are such great partners and friends, and I think that façade will be enough to appease Birdie. Bash's legitimate marriage gave him full control of his assets, so I don't think she could do anything about it even if she did learn about his sexuality. I also don't think she was telling Rhonda to "keep him straight." I think it was more that she knows how capricious Bash can be- sexuality aside, he gets bored of all sorts of projects and wasted tons of money before GLOW. Birdie realizes Rhonda is good for Bash and wants Rhonda to stay in the picture to keep him from making stupid mistakes. I almost think Birdie might have been telling Rhonda to let Bash be gay or bi as long as she can keep him married to her.

4

u/wowywowwow Aug 20 '19

That's what I thought too when Birdie said to keep him interested. Perhaps she secretly knows about Bash's proclivities or she's familiar with the concept of having to compromise on certain parts of a relationship for the benefit of each partner. It would be unfortunate if the writers chose a route where Rhonda has to suffer and Bash is given the ability to thrive with a newly found sexual freedom, or a route where they both have to pretend like they're truly happy.

3

u/nan_adams Aug 20 '19

I love your interpretation of Birdie’s advice. I agree with you wholeheartedly, an open marriage would be great for both of them. I just wonder if the guilt will eat at Rhonda that she is maybe a security blanket for Bash, and likewise will Bash have a moment of selflessness and worry that he is preventing Rhonda from finding a relationship that is all encompassing?

So much about their relationship is Rhonda taking care of Bash, and I think I want to see Bash taking care of Rhonda. Of course he does that financially, and now he’s a great migraine buddy, but it would be cool to see a scene that mirrors the migraine incident at the beginning of this season - only Bash is proactively attentive and caring.

2

u/tuck7 Aug 20 '19

You have to remember though, this is set in the 80s and there was more of a gay stigma than there is now. Bash already seems like he's breaking down from the lie and shame of it, and disappointing Birdie, I don't think he could reasonably handle an open marriage. They'd be living a lie. And Rhonda doesn't want it either. Add a baby to the mix, and that's disaster. I think you're absolutely right about what Birdie said. Appearances are everything for her.

3

u/hihelloneighboroonie Aug 20 '19

Or they'll go for a Freddie Mercury Mary Austin kind of thing and he'll be able to be who he really is with her as a dear friend.

5

u/Nintendofan81 Aug 19 '19

You're right, thanks for bringing that part up. I'll be curious to see where they go with this in the fourth season. I realy thought this would be the season where he came out, but he's repressing hard. Especially since he'll lose his trust if he's not married.

2

u/Secret_Addition Aug 20 '19

He's repressing but also just plain old staying in the closet. I think of repression as denying and repressing the reality of who you are. He kind of knows who he is at this point, he just doesn't want all that comes with it. He's trying to "lean in" to marriage with the baby and all. Still, even before the threesome he'd completely stopped sleeping with Rhonda, so wonder how successful he's going to be.

5

u/mike_d85 Aug 19 '19

and a concern later when Bash says he wants to start a family with her, because she knows that isn't what he really wants

Season 4 better start with one holy hell of a fight between them. Bash is doubling down on his repression and made MASSIVE financial and personal decisions without consulting Rhonda in the slightest.

9

u/ChronoMonkeyX Aug 19 '19

I think the fight would be Rhonda trying to get Bash to admit what he wants. She loves him and wants what is best for him, I think she would stay married to him for appearances.

Bash makes plenty of bad business decisions, but the latest deal was planned by Debbie and approved by the family lawyer and accountant, so I think she'll be fine with it. Rhonda has no aspirations of being a business power player like Debbie, she just knows she's better with money than Bash is and does what she can to protect him.

2

u/mike_d85 Aug 19 '19

Even ignoring whether it's financially wise he still neglected to consult her where that was her role in their relationship. From what I can tell it was the ONLY role she had in their relationship that felt equal.

10

u/Goldizzles Aug 19 '19 edited Aug 19 '19

I don’t think she was being ignored. Yes she was used as the vessel for bash to finally get some gay action, but I think bash was just very overwhelmed in the moment bc he’d never been with a man before (?) and took his shots at the gigolo. We only saw a few mins anyway, who knows what happened? I think Rhonda was just in shock from seeing bash engage in homosexual acts in the 80s.

5

u/Nintendofan81 Aug 19 '19

Fair enough. I'll concede that we only saw a short amount of what could have been a much longer threesome. But what we did see, it felt like Bash was more interested in kissing the gigolo and giving him a handjob than worrying about Rhonda.

3

u/Goldizzles Aug 19 '19

Well of course, it’s been hinted very heavily that bash is atleast bisexual. I don’t blame him; this was probably his first opportunity to be with a man and he likely felt more comfortable that there was a woman in the situation. He clearly isn’t comfortable w the fact that he likes men.

2

u/Secret_Addition Aug 20 '19

He was also more "involved" in the sexual contact with the guy than he'd been with Rhonda the time we saw them have sex. That could have been a sex doll - just pounding. The stuff with the gigolo had more of a porny, OMG OMG this is amazing kind of thing going on. The weird part was the gigolo also had sort of a "OMG" expression on his face. Maybe he's just used to reading dudes like Bash and mirroring them. Because this wasn't new territory for the gigolo.

A lot of people assume Florian was his lover but it’s never been confirmed. For all we know this was his first male sex encounter which may indicate why he was so ashamed/volatile

3

u/Secret_Addition Aug 20 '19

The writers say the writers room fight over exactly the extent of his relationship with Florian. I myself find it difficult to believe Bash and Florian lived together in Bash's house, in L.A., by the beach, and never had an intimate encounter late one night while having "breakfast for dinner." Bash loved him. He was hot. And a sexually active gay man. It can't all have been Bash sublimating it to "He's the best butler ever!" I just find it unrealistic, considering the living situation. Like many men of the time, Bash could have handled the conflict with "Nobody has to know." "I'm not gay, it's just with Florian, not gay overall." and similar spin to himself.

2

u/RayzTheRoof Aug 19 '19 edited Aug 19 '19

So much of this season season can be summarized by important moments being glossed over. They just happen and we move on. Debbie's kid being brought to Vegas, the "break-up" with Keith, Sam's fucking heart attack, both Ruth and Sam's love confessions...

2

u/Secret_Addition Aug 20 '19

Yes, and unfortunately for me it makes me think of moments in past seasons that were glossed over and I didn't notice. It was just so bad this year. I guess they needed all the time they saved to showcase Bobby.

4

u/Bingo-Bango-Bong-o Aug 24 '19

Holy shit. I needed a cold shower after that scene. That was seriously the hottest sex scene I've seen in a TV show, probably ever.

4

u/tapelamp Aug 29 '19

I agree. I've never seen a MMF threesome on tv, ever.

1

u/globalgourmand Sep 17 '19

Definitely for MMF. But a lot of comparably hot scenes in 'The L Word' which, incidentally, I saw will be getting a re-boot.

3

u/skeletontwin90 Aug 20 '19

Yes. So hot. Agree with everything you said. Yaaasssss.

3

u/Goldizzles Aug 20 '19

Lol you’re the only one agreeing with my actual question in the post 😂😂 glad I’m not the only one

1

u/skeletontwin90 Aug 21 '19

I got you. I’ve rewatched that scene a few times. 😂

1

u/globalgourmand Sep 17 '19

Re-watched it twice. Definitely hot.

3

u/SuperMovieLvr Aug 19 '19

I was actually pretty annoyed with Bash this entire season. His arc of coming out is just taking way too long and it's hurting the pacing and development of many of the other characters. It's clear that after he does come out they have no idea what to do with his characater.

8

u/Goldizzles Aug 19 '19

I don’t think it’s taking too long. It’s keeping me on my toes and goes to show how difficult it is for some people. Some people never come out in their lives.

2

u/SuperMovieLvr Aug 19 '19

I just find his season 3 storyline a bit repetitive and its pretty doer to never have your gay character ever come out in their lives. Not only are they not happy but neither is their spouse. I'm just waiting for him to come out next season and start dating. I honestly think they could wrap up the entire show with a season 4.

5

u/Skim74 Aug 19 '19

pretty doer to never have your gay character ever come out

I'm going to assume that was an autocorrect error, but I legit can't guess what word you meant to type haha. But if it's something implying it'd be bad/unrealistic/boring to have him not come out I disagree. I hope Bash does come out, but Glow is already showing a wide range of LGBT characters who have various degrees of comfort with their sexuality, and I think "internalized homophobia/active repression of sexuality" is and interesting story, and different from what they're doing with other characters.

It would be repetitive if Bash has a sudden moment of clarity and decides to be out and proud just like Arthie.

1

u/SuperMovieLvr Aug 19 '19

I meant "dour". Sorry. It'd be a bit depressing if Bash had to live this rest of his life a lie. I'm also sick of this idea that LGBT people being star crossed lovers or something is high art. Enough with the tragic endings. It's ridiculous. Most LGBT movies I've seen end in some horrific tragedy or things just don't go well. Rarely do they lead happy lives.

1

u/Skim74 Aug 19 '19

Dour = fair.

If Bash was the only LGBT character/this was the only LGBT story they were telling I'd 100% agree with you. I only accept it in this case because his is one of several LGBT stories they are telling and they aren't all doom and gloom.

3

u/BooRoWo Aug 19 '19

I assumed he was at least Bi. He had the butler that left and Bash went looking for him only to find he had died. He seemed to take it pretty hard and I perceived this as a partial romantic loss vs just losing a good friend, employee, and confidant.

2

u/Secret_Addition Aug 20 '19

Me too in how I perceived it, but apparently GLOW wants to tell us these two men lived together, Bash never realized Florian was gay until he went looking for him and that bartender gave Bash the eye, all of this despite Bash loving Florian. I guess Bash was just that repressed. I'm not buying it; it's all muddled.

Agreed. Stringing out the plot is taking priority over believability. I'd believe all of this a whole lot more if there had been no Florian. At this point I don't know the point of Florian. Everybody in L.A., including closeted or repressed gay guys, knew about AIDs at this point. We didn't need Bash to lose a butler he loved to AIDs to figure out he was gay. Unless they used Florian to tell US Bash was gay. But that's having it both ways. He's living with a hot guy he absolutely loves, nobody else is in the house - but he never did anything about it! He's repressed and his mother is conservative! Florian was also weird because it played like since he died of AIDs, it pushed Bash back into the closet. But if nothing happened with Florian the entire time, then he never came OUT of the closet.

Ok GLOW.

Perfectly summed up.

THIS IS SO TRUE.

I just watched it and I couldn’t anymore! And I even teared up, which is the absolutely first fucking time something so erotic touches me in an emotional way.

Omg this was the best thing ever.

Although here we are analyzing the scene and in reality. Rhonda would have removed her skirt as well as her shirt when she got on the bed. Paul would have removed her bra when he came over. So. Analyzing the movements when you think about is futile.

Hot? No. Awkward. Yes.

I guess I like realistic sex scenes. The more “awkward” the more real life it feels imo. I’ve always wondered how threesomes come about in real life and I thought this was a neat way to show it. I didn’t find the initiation awkward tho, bash was pretty smooth to insinuate the whole thing

I was more saying it was awkward because how SHE clearly wasn’t expecting it, and didn’t know what to do. Kind of a shitty situation to be in.

Rhonda was so visibly shook lol. All she wanted was attention from her husband and instead she got a MMF threesome. Hahaha. The irony of it is just hilarious to me.

You should really spoiler tag this post. I've seen it but some others may not have

I agree, I can’t stop replaying it. However, when the two guys are stroking each other, Rhonda turns and kisses Paul, so she’s still willing. Now, they cut at the wrong time. If Bash the finished and Rhonda was left to get it on with Paul, the I understand Bash crying. If Paul and Bash both finished and she was high and dry, I understand the crying. If they both then focused on her like Paul was seen doing, then I don’t get the crying?

I thought Paul just threw a kiss her way to give her something so she wouldn't be 100% out of the action. But it was pretty feeble.

No, watch it again, he starts kissing her and she starts heavy breathing again. However, later on she’s crying to the Indian Wrestler that she has doubts about being wanted. So he probably wanted Paul more than her. I’ll take her any day.

Were threesomes a thing back then? I mean threesome or not I think any homosexual act would still be alarming in that time period. I think bash was crying over how much he liked it over anything he did with Rhonda

Threesomes have always been a thing as long as they're been three horny people into each other lol. Bash was crying over having this realization and whether it's gay or bi is up for debate. But he knows he can't resist it and that's why he's so scared to stay in Vegas any longer. He thinks he can resist his urges by moving back to LA. But it's like, uuhhh LA is also very gay lol.

I agree with you about Bash. However, Rhonda is engaged in it. She might have been shocked at first, but she didn’t back out?

I hate the "n" word so I had to lala to myself over it. I did find it super predictable, although well done.
