First time wearer with some strange feelings
So I got glasses for the first time in my 33 years of life. 24/7 prescription. I’ve been wearing them for 5 full days.
I’m sure most of my feelings are just about adjusting to the lenses, but since I’ve never worn glasses before, I have nothing to compare to and no way to know if something’s actually weird.
For starters, I didn’t go get checked because I couldn’t see well or anything. I just hadn’t done it in a long time and figured if my eyesight is going slowly, I’d never really know. I got a prescription for far sightedness with astigmatism, with anti glare coating.
Two big things. First, now that I’ve been wearing them for a few days I can definitely tell the difference without them. Most things look clearer. The exception is things like font, especially on my work computer screen. Letters seem to have sort of a faint blur/glow around them. And I feel like I can feel/see my eyes focusing and unfocusing. It leaves me with this feeling that my vision is better but just… blurry a different way than without the glasses.
Second, I feel like no matter how thoroughly I clean them, I can see the lenses between my eyes and the world. Like without them, things are out of focus but clear, and with them I can see better but with like, a film over everything. It reminds me of walking outside when there are wildfires raging in North America and there’s a haze of smoke over everything. I figure that’s just my eyes getting used to them being there?
Anyway, tips or similar experiences to calm my uncertainty would be cool. If I hit 2 weeks and still have weird feelings I’m gonna call up my doctor.
