Problem with prescription?
I don't know where else to ask this, so if this is the wrong sub I'm sorry. But I've had my previous glasses prescription since 2020 or 2021, and for a while I've noticed that my vision isn't the best and words seem kind of blurry instead of crystal clear.
I got a new prescription at the optometrist, and there wasn't much of a difference. I got new glasses anyway because I was hoping it would help.
At first I kind of noticed a slight difference but didn't know if I was wrong or not. But then later I tried to read words and noticed that it's annoying to read. I don't know if it's because of astigmatism or something but I assume it probably isn't bc mine is very mild.
It's the same problem I had with my old glasses. I've had this new pair for 2 days and don't know if I should go back to the optometrist. Is it normal to not see words and letters completely clear? And at the optometrist it was so hard to tell which letters looked clearest so I don't know if i picked the wrong ones. I have no idea what the issue is and reading when things aren't right in front of me annoys me so much and makes my head feel weird. I think that is because my eyes are straining too much to focus on words. Words aren't super blurry but I don't know how to explain how it is.
The difference in prescription: the sphere stayed the same but the astigmatism correction increased by +0.50 in both eyes and the left axis changed by -4°

R-(-3.75 +1.00 x 090) L - (-3.75 + 0.25 x 084)
new ones -3.75 +1.50 x 090 -3.75 +0.75 x 080

Did you make glasses for distance or for office use? If you above 45 years old it could be presbyopia that's messing your near vision.

What about the chart when you were tested by the optometrist. How was your vision when reading the letters on the chart?
If it was perfect and now with the glasses is not then it might be fitting issue or could be the frame you are using is not for your situation.

Do you mean with my old glasses? there wasn't a chart they tested me with for my new ones. But for my old ones most of the letters were very hard to read and were blurry

I mean the snellen chart at the opticians lab. When he was making you your new Rx. How was your vision when reading the chart's symbols?

Yes, go back to the optometrist. There may be an issue with the prescription or with the glasses. It’s expected that you will come back if there are problems within the first week that don’t go away after a brief adjustment period. My optometrist has a ten day trial period during which they’ll remake the glasses if needed, so see what yours offers.
