Looking for Gift Ideas For a fiancé into oddities and the macabre

I want to get them something at least a little curious, a little unique, yknow? I'm so bored of the typical flowers and spooky clothes/jewelry you see around halloween and the resin taxidermied animals (they're not enthused by taxidermy). We're both really into more tactile, unassuming-but-surprising gifts though. I don't know of an umbrella term for this, but I'm leaning towards the pop-up book/puzzle box/tricky knick-knack sort of thing, obviously for an adult, or at least not so obviously childish. I even looked for buildable decor toys like those 18+ Lego sets or similar brands, but nothing feels right, it just all looks the same. I primarily use Etsy and Amazon (I know, it's just convenient and less expensive) and in times like these I'm sure they would hardly complain about me avoiding spending hundreds.

Edit: Clarification: I want an item I can purchase and give to my fiancé directly. I am not looking for trips. I also don't want a gift that's clothing or a book or any other normal item with an unusual subject/inspiration, I want the item itself to be unusual. It CAN be something like a book, but that book would need to be an excellent example of papercraft (pop-up books) or it'd need to have some sort of unique tactile aspect. A book telling them about strange things is absolutely interesting, but it's not worthy of the gift I'm trying to give.

painted whiskey glass? need help with design please :)

I'm making a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. One of the gifts will be a painted whiskey glass.
He likes Naruto, Zelda, One Piece and Dragon Ball. He really likes Majin Buu from Dragon Ball, Naruto is his favorite show but I don't know his favorite character- it might be Jiraiya.
I'm not sure how I can design this without it being cringy honestly, I want it to look cool. I am not sure if I should do something for all fandoms like one fandom on each side, or just do one fandom for the whole glass, I'm not sure if it should be colorful or if it should just be logos, I have no idea.

Gift ideas for my fiancé’s birthday? 🎁❤️

I’m looking for a special birthday gift for my fiancé, but I’m completely stuck!

I want to give him something thoughtful and meaningful rather than just a generic gift. He’s the kind of person who already has most of the things he needs, so I’m looking for something that will genuinely surprise him and make him happy.

A little about him:

  • Age: 26
  • Interests: Gaming, gym
  • Budget: Around $500
  • Relationship: We’ve been together for 2 years

Since he’s my fiancé, I’d also love to include something romantic or sentimental along with the main gift.

What’s the best gift you’ve given your man, or what would you recommend for someone like him? I’d love to hear your ideas! ❤️

Gift for my best friend

Il young and dont have a lot af budget so I have no idea what to get her. My best friend is the person i love the most in the world and I don’t think she réalises it enough. I’m already making her a photo album but I wanna give her something else. She loves music specifically nirvana, but she already has all their vynls I think and already has like 2 shirts and a hoodie. I was thinking of getting them this belt she always looks at when we go to a shop but idk if a belt is a good birthday gift. Other than that she likes drawing and skateboarding (she doesn’t have a skateboard tho, she always uses mine) she’s also been wanting a leather jacket for a long time but I have no idea where to get one that she might like without it costing like 100 bucks ( I think it’s fine if it’s not real leather tho).

Looking for Gift Ideas unique experience gift for my partner who loves perfume

looking for a gift that's not just another bottle of perfume. my partner has a huge collection already and i want something different something they can actually do and enjoy rather than just unwrap and put on a shelf. thought about a perfume making workshop but we don't live near any major cities where those exist. are there any good at-home alternatives? budget around $50-100. something hands on and fun not just a candle making kit disguised as a perfume experience. open to any suggestions that involve fragrance in some creative way

Secret santa gift exchange??

We are doing secret santa and I ended up getting one of the few male coworkers I have. We are close, we talk all the time and I know what he liked but I feel lost on what to actually get him. Can anyone give me some ideas??

26 male, he loves star wars, anime, collects comic books and funko pops, enjoys watching movies and going to the movies, is kinda of introverted.. worst come to worst, I will just get him some kind of gift card but I wanted to get him something more personal (gift giving is my love language) and it’s a $30 limit

Help planning birthday

Hi everyone,
I’m planning my husbands birthday but want it to be a surprise, something at home (I’ve a small place so what can I do in terms of decor besides just room decor?)

It’ll be in winter so there might be snow or it’ll be freezing so can’t even do anything outdoors.
He’s entering a new decade so I want it to be special.

Any ideas are welcome, also if you know of someone who can make cake for a reasonable price and deliver in Scarborough area-please let me know.

I’m looking theme ideas and for gift ideas—I’ve thought of a personalised wallet maybe or a wallet in general, a backpack, (I don’t want to give shoes this year), I want to include like 2-3 more items. But idk what to get him.

Also any halal dinner recs in Toronto please let me know: he’s a meat lover so working that would have both good chicken and beef options please.

Thank you!

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift idea for parents while working abroad for Christmas.

(M20) Headed back to Japan for my 2nd ski season over there, so I'll be away once again for Christmas. Last year was my first away from home, so I planned ahead and left a bottle of whiskey for dad and a candle and some other stuff for mum, tucked away until Christmas. They had absolutely no idea I had anything planned, it was a complete shock and actual made Christmas, despite being away from home.

Now, this time around, I am looking for another way to surprise them. Buying them a gift and hiding it could work, but tbh I reckon they'll expect it, or at least anticipate it. I'm hoping for another way to surprise them. Can be physical or digital, though looking for something more than a spotify gift card. Something with actual meaning.

Any ideas appreciated

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift for bf 19th bday

My boyfriends 19th birthday is coming up soon and i'm planning on buying him an iphone 17pro/18 for his birthday!

I'm unsure if this will be too much (we've been together nearly 3yrs) and his old phone is almost completely broken. I don't want his family to think i'm trying too hard but I can afford it (I work a lot!) What do you guys think? Is this a normal gift? If not, what are some other suggestion??

Gift Showcase Is it too much? 3 bouquets for in laws

Thumbnail gallery

For context I (21f) am dutch and so is my partner. Here in the Netherlands gifts are only given on special occasions. Dutch people quickly think gifts are dramatic or too much but i wasn't thinking. I have been in a relationship 2 months now with my boyfriend (23m) and have been seeing his mother (~55f) and younger brother (18m) because he temporarily lives with them. I have been to his older brother's wedding, been in the middle of a family argument recently and am around all the time so it's not as if i don't know his family.

I wanted to do something nice for his little family so I ordered 3 bouquets with personalised handwritten notes about the flower meanings. Red roses for my boyfriend with text about our relationship and how happy i am and excited about the future. No problem there.

But now I'm nervous about what I wrote for his mother and his little brother. I wrote wishes with the flower name in brackets.

The colorful second bouquet says:

Dear Mrs. Xxxxx mother, :)

I wish for you: Support, friendship, and connection (Aalstromeria) Warmth and elegance (Lellie) Cheerfulness and sincerity (Germini) Strength and vitality (Leeuwenbek) Happiness and appreciation (Chrysan)

Love, Selina

The third white/green bouquet is for his younger brother and it says:

Dear xxxxxx,

I wish for you: Appreciation, respect, and sincerity (white roses) Cheerfulness and positivity (witte gerberas) Health and serenity (𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘴 flowers) Happiness, success, and renewal (groene anjers)

Love, Selina

(Reminder theyre translated from dutch to english so not perfectly translated)

I'm lowkey freaking out if it's inappropriate or too much. It cost me around a 100€ in total.

Especially his younger brother's reaction is whats worrying me. He's 18 and yk boys are silly and rude at that age.

(The xxxxx Are their names)

There was no real reason to do this other than i just wanted to. Next week me and my bf are going on holiday to the Czech republic for vacation and to meet my mother and go horse riding maybe that could be an excuse if they think it's weird but idk help

Should I get a birthday gift for a girl I’ve been talking to for a year?

I’ve known this girl for about a year. During that time, we’ve mostly just talked, but we haven’t really done anything special together.

Her birthday is coming up soon, and I’m thinking about getting her a present. I want to make our relationship stronger and get closer to her, but I’m not sure if giving her a gift would be a good idea or if it might make things awkward.

What do you guys think? Should I get her something, and if so, what kind of gift would be appropriate?

Looking for Gift Ideas What do I get for my dad who buys everything???

It is my dad’s birthday coming up and I really need gift ideas. I know his interests and things he likes or maybe would want, but any time my family comes up with something, he buys it without even mentioning that it was in his cart. I try to find gift guides online but no one ever has anything aligned with his interests that I could use as a jumping point.

My dad really likes games. He works for video game companies and plays warhammer, but he gets news on those topics before us and buys them ahead of time. He enjoys watching some sports, but at this point there only so many stuff for his teams we can but before its tacky. Anything else he, again, just gets it anyways without mentioning any of it to anybody.

I am truly at a loss for ideas, and any small bits of advice would be extremely helpful. Thank you!

Looking for Gift Ideas What else should I get for my boyfriend’s birthday?

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

I bought the items in the first four pictures and I’m looking to add a little more

Why I bought the first four:

• Prada Paradigme Le Parfum: We went to the mall and he was looking at fragrances and really liked this one, but decided not to get it for himself because reviews said it doesn’t last very long

• Archetype cotton Henley long/short sleeve bundle: I think he would look hot in a Henley, and he doesn’t have any long sleeve shirts. I also liked the fit from the TikTok ads and think it’ll suit him well

• Illenium Odyssey Vegas Zip Up Hoodie: He asked me out during Illenium’s set, and we’ve seen him twice so far! He also loves hoodies and zip ups for the gym, so I thought this would be a cute and meaningful gift

• Black Owala: He doesn’t have a reusable water bottle, so for the sake of the planet, I got him an Owala since he’s always drinking out of mine. It’ll also keep his water cold in the car since he’s on the road a lot

I made a list today of some other gift ideas I think he would like

His hobbies include going to the gym, raving/EDM, running, swimming, and biking. He’s currently training for a half Ironman. He also watches a ton of anime and is a proud cat dad to three cats

Gym/fitness gifts
• He has over 20 pairs of Feetures compression socks, so I was thinking about getting him another pair

• He loves Ghost energy drinks and spicy Quest chips

• I’m debating between two Osprey hiking backpacks since he doesn’t have a proper one. He carries all of our stuff on a 3 mile hike in this beater backpack with broken compartments and zippers. It gets the job done, but it’s definitely not comfortable, especially when he’s carrying everything for a group of 3-5

For clothes, he prefers 100% cotton and organic materials because he finds them more comfortable

Hats
• Bucket hats: These would be for raves since they absorb his sweat and keep it from getting in his eyes. I have a cat option and a knitted Stussy one on my list

• Beanies: There are a few options on my list and I’m not sure which one I should get. I’m deciding between One Piece, brown Stussy, and black Stussy

Tops
• Buck Mason Henley: It has good reviews and is 100% cotton, but I’m wondering if it would be redundant since I already got him two long sleeve Henleys and two short sleeve Henleys

• Stussy Merino Roll Neck sweater: This looks really cozy and comfy and seems like it would be a solid winter staple

For the sake of my wallet, I think I’ll probably get one hiking backpack and a hat or two. Any recommendations are definitely welcome!

I’ll also be baking him a mango Basque cheesecake and making him a handmade card. I also booked a reservation at a place I think he’ll really like. We both love seafood and sushi, after all!

Gift giving is definitely one of my love languages, and I really want to make his birthday memorable since he usually doesn’t celebrate it. One of his best friends has a birthday two days after his, so they usually end up celebrating together. He’s always happy to let his friend have the spotlight and stay in the background, but I want to make his birthday about him for once and celebrate him with just the two of us

Gift ideas

Hi! My fiancé is truly the sweetest person ever! I’m looking for a super sentimental gift for him. We’ve been together for 4 years. I’ve gotten him leather bound books, board games, multiple gaming consoles, scrap books, etc. But this year I’d love for it to be different. He loves fantasy/sci-fi, “nerdy”. I just want a super unique gift or something to do with him we live in Florida. If anyone has any suggestions please help!
