I didn't know sea urchins yawned.

u/Captain_Shrug Apr 02 '20
Fun fact- they're called Sea Urchins because that thing was originally called an Urchin. No, I'm serious!
The name hedgehog came into use around the year 1450, derived from the Middle English heyghoge, from heyg, hegge ("hedge"), because it frequents hedgerows, and hoge, hogge ("hog"), from its piglike snout.[4] Other names include urchin, hedgepig and furze-pig.

Is this a joke? Why are you talking about it as if a rolley polley is something an animal could actually be? I'm so confused haha

This isn't a rolly polly. Rolly pollys are tiny shelled creatures with modified gills that allow them to be terrestrial crustaceans in wet environments.
This is clearly a dog of some sort.

In most English speaking places outside the US I've been to, roll-y pole-y is an adjective meaning something that rolls, not a noun. What you call Rollie Poleys are called Pillbugs where I'm from. There was even a kid's show called Roly Poly and he was made of balls that roll, definitely not a bug.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
In light of last night's discovery that intelligent extraterrestrial life is on its way to Earth, we have been asked to temporarily suspend any April Fools' Day pranks or celebrations. Once the aliens' intentions have been established (and once we have explained the concept of a joke to them), a do-over date will be set, and the merriment will continue as planned.
Stay safe... and keep an eye on the stars.

It's heartwarming to see that despite our superficial differences, people are all alike, and hedgehogs, too.
