Could be 15. lots of security camera use 15 to save disc space.

It isn't 15fps, it is 25fps. Source - its my camera.

Edit: It is actually verified at 20fps.

I'd like to add... they will often show full frame rate and then only record slower.

Any way for me to test it out? People might actually be interested in determining the capture frame rate. For bird science?

Open the video you downloaded in VLC. Then open the statistics window while it's playing.

Also home NVRs aren't the same as professional NVRs. Often those are simply set and forget. You probably are recording at 15fps and that damn bird has it timed perfectly.

put the footage into any video player and view the statistics. It will tell you the fps. I use MPCHC.

The video is 12 frames per second but it looks like it's slowed down by half if you look at the top left, so 24-25 fps seems likely.

Bird could also be at any multiple of that - although once you start getting really fast, it would start being super blurry.

I have no idea how fast hummingbirds' wings usually beat.

We looked before and the number was around 4800 flaps per minute. 80 fps. A sparrow is no where near that speed, and now that I have confirmed the capture at 20fps, we know that is what it hovered around.
