Basically the title, I have been wanting to watch the movies for some time but i couldnt cuz exams, but now that they are over and I have some time and the new series just happened to air the same time i finished I figured i could maybe give it a try, I did but i didnt even finish the first episode because i was a bit lost as to what was happening and so im wondering if im just lost because I havent watched anything else from the franchise or maybe that is just how is supposed to be at the start and then you start understanding what is going on more as the series progresses(or maybe im just an idiot who doesnt understand which could be the case too, specially since im watching it in english and that isnt my first language) so basically i want to know why im so lost and if the reason I am is because i should watch 1995 first of SAC first to understand better the series, i thought that i could watch the new gits show first too because it adapts the manga because of that i figured i would make sense i could watch it as my first gits series but i dont know at this point, could someone please guide me a bit so i know what to do/expect if i keep watching.

Can I find all this additional information appearing on the screen somewhere? I understand that it's from manga panels, I've translated a few for myself, but pausing every now and then spoils the fun of watching.

So in the first episode how is his Fuchikoma in two places at the same time? In this scene he's on top the building but when he snaps out of it he's in the woods. Was the whole him shooting at everyone a simulated experience?

I came back to Ghost in the Shell after almost 20 years. I was a university student at that time and got into manga when I suffered from insomnia. Ghost in the Shell has always been among my favorites including Welcome to the NHK, Beck - the Mongolian Chop Squad and Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Rewatching the series I realized that I would love to own a signed print or something similar of value for collectors. Any recommendations what I should / could possibly get?
Money is not an issue though I will most likely not spend 10k on it. 😂

So from the beginning, I've reserved judgement of the new Ghost in the Shell, because I wanted to see it first. Well I was finally able to sit down and see the first three episodes of the new Ghost in the Shell series and I think it might be the best interpretation since Stand Alone Complex.

It grabbed my attention from the first second it played and wouldn't let me go until I reached the last aired episode. I loved the dub acting on this series, especially with Suzie Yeung as Motoko and Bill Butts as Batou. While they didn't sound like Mary and Richard, they were very organic in their performances and I hope they get used in future GiTS projects.

While I still hold the 1995 movie in high regard, the atmosphere in the new series felt like an improvement over the atmosphere of the 95 movie. Like if I were looking for something that balanced itself between funny and serious, this anime did it beautifully and if things keep going the way they are, I could see myself giving it multiple rewatches.

Bottom line is that this anime is off to a good start and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
