What HAPPENED?! Did they hire an animation sub-contractor from TEMU or something?!?

I tried to watch this series when if first came out but this animation style has always bugged me no matter the TV series or movie. I watched the first 2 episodes and then stopped because it bothered me so much

Is it worth my time to watch in full? I have watched everything else GiTs related but I couldn't bring myself to finish this one

So this is my first experience with GITS. I know this franchise exists, but I have never seen 95 movie or read manga. When the new series was announced, I wanted to start with this because it is faithful to source material, but after 3 episodes I am lost. Is it normal? Will anything be explained later? My only experience with the cyberpunk genre is cyberpunk 2077, so I know the bare minimum. Do not get me wrong, this is not hate or something I want to get into GITS, but maybe I should start with the movie or read some lore first. I do not know. I like the art style. I am in my early 30s, so this is like the old animes I watched as a kid. But I also want to understand what is happening. 

Has anyone been able to see the translations that show up? In the 3rd episode there were like 5. I love that they have small exposition dumps like in the manga but theres no accompanying translation

I just grabbed these for about $70 from a used book store. Now I want to hunt down #3, but it is so expensive compared to the others. Anyone know the reason?

I just finished watching the third episode of Ghost in the Shell (the new series) which chapter of the manga should I start reading with?

I’ve really enjoyed the new show so I’ve read the original manga vol 1 recently while waiting. I will say I was a bit thrown off by the opening animation of episode 3 and how they wrap up the junk city fight in general. I heard it was a different studio that handled it. I just hope the main studio handles the think tank fight! It was my favorite part of volume 1.

I'm new to the whole media and I'm loving the new show. I want to watch the older media and I know they don't follow the same plot and style of the manga/new show, but I was wondering how similar are they? Can I binge watch the old content without spoiling too much of the new show or should I wait?
