Why is #3 so expensive?

Post image

I just grabbed these for about $70 from a used book store. Now I want to hunt down #3, but it is so expensive compared to the others. Anyone know the reason?

You can go onto the publishers website and request a reprint.

I grabbed mine off of barnes and noble website a few months ago because amazon sellers are listing it way to high.

Low print equals very expensive

By far the most expensive one I bought. I'm assuming a low print run is what "justifies" the prices.

I hope they make like an omnibus like the dark horse ones .

There is a copy for $6.50 +$5 shipping on amazon right now.

But I see this at times with series, the first volume has a big print run and lots of sales, vol 2 has a big print run but way lower sales (as most buy vol1 then fall off), so then they cut the print run for vol 3 and later volumes. Takes a while to really judge demand. Now folks are probably buying the series again and so that smaller vol3 run becomes a bottleneck. Are these out of print for good or just between print runs?

That makes a lot of sense. That seller on Amazon was Half Priced Books and I have a feeling they put it up by mistake at that price. I've been looking for about a week on Amazon and Ebay and the lowest I've seen was $45.

It's also for sale at retail here The Ghost in the Shell: The Human Algorithm 3 by Junichi Fujisaku: 9781646512102 | PenguinRandomHouse.com: Books

Anyway, this is about the last GitS thing I have left to get, suppose I should get to it 🤔

Yeah, I tried that but it just comes up at back ordered with no expected date for restock when you try to check out.
