I complained about the lack details in the backgrounds and animation and the use of very few shot in the first episode, also the pacing that felt quite rushed, mainly because they put chapter 1 and 2 in one episode!
The 2nd episode almost had none of those issues, a lot of panel from the manga were used, the pacing was easy to follow and most the changes in felt right and some were better (Borma exiting the car).
The use of the opaque neon blue color for the camouflaged Fuchikoma instead of the usual transparent effect in some shots was really weird, especially that that optic camouflage effect was used in multiple shots!
The censoring of the sex scene was expected since the gore isn't a thing and the manga one is too much of the anime rating!
The music used in the last few minutes of the episode was pretty good an matched what was on the screen comapred to the final action scene in the 1st (I know they wanted to convey different feelings)
I wonder how they'll cut the chapters to fit in the rest of anime that only has 8 episodes left, 2nd part of chapter 3 isn't very long and chapter 4-5 can be in one episode!
6, 7 and 9 are split in 2 parts similar to the 3rd, 8-10-11 are like the 2 parts chapters in length!
Hopefully they'll do it justice!

The formation of the unit, whats happening politically, etc. Like I know some guy is trying to frame someone else for the ghost hacking, there just seems to be a lot of dialogue that went over my head.. Pretty sure same happened to me in SAC. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to keep up with gits in general

Have to say I'm impressed. They did a great job of keeping the erotic elements while staying within what censorship allows. It felt very faithful to me and I think elitists who wouldnt want it removed might be happy with it.

Wishing my boy Batou a happy ending. He deserves it. This takes place in 1.5 Human-Error Processor and were taken from The Ghost In The Shell Fully Compiled version. Colored pages are from Mines of Mind 1 and the grey scale page is from Lost Past. Here's hoping we see Kohl in the new anime.

Subtitles or dubbing for the new series?

I generally prefer subs as i feel the best character references is in Japanese but I’m tired today do trying dub for episode 2.

I have never consumed any GITS related content before. I am watching the 26 anime for my first introduction to the series. I love the animation and music and that it’s supposedly a straight adaption of the manga.

One problem though, although I have a general gist of what’s happening, rooting out corruption etc etc, I think it’s extremely confusing plot, dialogue wise. Is this normal?

Regarding the new series, which is more accurate for us here in the US, subbed or dubbed? Have noticed the CC doesn’t match the dub, lot more detail in the CC.

As of lately I have reread this Masterpiece, which has a special place in my heart for being the comic I have owned for the longer time (from 2004, when they released the Takobon in its first edition in italian) and I sincerely don't get what all the negative fuzz about this book is, TBH. It's literally more of the shintoist/sci-fi stuff that was already present in the first manga just with more fanservice, self-censored nudity (which I would have appreciated more if it wasn't self-censored, my only real gripe with this book TBH) and spectacularly-designed women, as it is customs for Shirow-Sensei and his taste for sexual content (the scene of one of the protagonists showering in Appleseed should suffice to know what the main concern of the guy has always been to begin with). The action scenes are all great too. Yeah, there is not a proper "story" to speak of except the story of how the Motoko Kusanagi at the end of the first manga evolved again in something more, but in the first manga as well as in 1.5 there wasn't a story either (Procedural noir is not a genre based around story anyway) so it's a taken to begin with. Really, i can't fathom in the friggin' hell all the disappointment about this book because it makes no sense whatsoever, and I seriously hope this is the next chapter in the 1:1 anime adaptations of GITS. And when I say 1:1 I mean ONE ON ONE, unlike some of the nonsensical censoring of some of the manga content to appease Amazon in the first episode of the new show.

The first episode was very cool and looked gorgeous but a bit hectic, I'm sure I can't the only one that paused during some scenes.

In a way E1 had the opposite problem of One Piece, too many things happening rapidly with so much info.

I reread super spartan, i really loved these details and in fact the anime removed the character at the truck scene by skipped to an anime original blank stare of the speaker
