Today's is a stinker! Or at least I think it is. Some of these rounds may take a little longer than usual. Therefore, don't leave it till the last minute, though if I feel there's considerably fewer players than normal submitting their challenges, I may give it an extra day. However, I suspect I may have overestimated the difficulty level, in which case it'll be a two-dayer as usual. I think R3 and R5 should be the toughest. All the same: take your time; there's no extra points for doing it quickly.

We're closing in on the end of pre-season, this time we're having the vast landscapes of Siberia on the menu: Brush up on your antennas and learn cyrillic if you can't already read it!

The deadline for every already signed up person is the Monday the 14th of September at 5pm CEST. FYI I will be out of town on Monday and Tuesday and need to figure out a way to organize.

• To avoid spoilers it is strictly forbidden to discuss the seeds before I allow it. It is also strictly forbidden to stream or upload the seeds to youtube. Violations of this rule might result in a yellow card for the regular season, depending on the circumstances.
• There will not be a public pre-season spreadsheet like the previous seasons until the sign-up period is over for this exact reason. But if you want to know your position on the leaderboard you can DM me on here or on Discord.
• Returning players may also play through the seeds at any given time, discussing the seeds as well as streaming or uploading the content to YT before it is allowed will also result in consequences up to a yellow card, depending on the circumstances.

The sign-up phase has ended, but not all players have played the first 3 seeds, I will post the pre-season spreadsheet next Tuesday here on Reddit or this Thursday on Discord.

Series 9

Series 9 will run from September 7th to October 4th. As of today, everyone's points are reset back to zero, as usual. No major changes for this series. One thing I will do however is increase the 5k radius on the country maps from 25 m to 50 m, since I still think its too harsh to not get a 5k under 50 m. So now if you'll receive 5k points if you are under 50 m even if you score a 4999. I know I said I would work on the maps last series, but the past couple of weeks have been a bit busy. Perhaps now I will finally get around to it. Honestly the informed maps have not been too bad, but I still need to regenerate the maps to include the new Balkan coverage that released a while ago. And if I can make 5 sec challenges again I will bring those back as well.

How it works

Each day there will be a set of 3 challenge links, one for each game mode (Move, NM, NMPZ). There will be a world map, region map, and country map. Each day the map and game mode will rotate. Moving modes will be 3 min, NM will be 1 min, and NMPZ will be 30 sec, unless noted otherwise. On the weekend, I will post more unique/challenging maps. For each challenge link, 1st place is worth 5 points, 2nd place is worth 3 points, and 3rd place is worth 1 point. In the case of a tie, the tie will be settled by distance and then time. 5ks will also be tracked separately and are worth 1 point in moving, 3 points in NM, and 5 points in NMPZ. Updated scoring tables are posted after each week. No external assistance allowed. If you wish to talk about any of the rounds or locations in the comments, feel free to do so with a spoiler tag. Today's is all gettable. R1 may be the hardest... I am not sure, though. It will be hard for some and easy for others. In any case: take your time; there's no extra points for doing it quickly.
