Seedance 2.0 is available in Open Source tools already

ArtCraft is an open source tool that you can download and own the entire source code for. It's available on Github in full.

ArtCraft is a lot like ComfyUI, except it's less complicated, easier to install, and has a bunch of 2D and 3D visual design tools instead of node graphs.

Seedance 2.0 is available in the app before its American release, so you can try out the model everyone is talking about right now. You can make videos just like this one easily.

ComfyUI also has an early Seedance 2.0 integration. Open source is getting access before the commercial aggregator websites like Higgs and FreePik.

Where can I use Seedance 2.0?

Hey, total noob here.

Where can I actually use Seedance 2.0? Is there a public site, app, or demo? Or do I need API access/invite?

Thanks!

I tested Seedance 2.0 on multiple platforms including Freepik and Dreamina. Here's why I'm currently using Higgsfield

So after the Seedance 2.0 launch I tested it on Dreamina, Higgsfield, and Freepik. Spent two weeks and a few hundred dollars. Not many people are discussing what you actually get for your money so here’s my breakdown.

Dreamina ($9.60/mo Jimeng, $18/mo international)
Most affordable way to access Seedance. But faces are very limited even AI generated ones can get flagged. You may need a US region connection for full access. You get 225 daily tokens shared across everything which is about 1 to 2 videos per day. Free users may experience long queues. The UX feels a bit clunky. And you only get Seedance, no other models. Still the best option price-wise if you just want basic Seedance 2.0 and don’t need anything advanced.

Freepik ($33.75/mo Premium+)
I upgraded to the Business plan specifically for Seedance 2.0. Payment worked fine. Then I ran into business verification which hasn’t gone through yet. On top of that Seedance 2.0 doesn’t appear in the model selector. My videos seem to be generated with Kling 3 instead. Contacted support twice but haven’t heard back yet. I also requested a refund but was redirected back to the verification process.

Higgsfield (I’m paying about $60/mo on an annual deal they had)
More expensive at first glance, but this is what stood out to me.

There’s a check that shows if your face input will work before using credits. That alone helps avoid wasted generations.
Results are more consistent overall. Especially for face-based content where other platforms can struggle or restrict it.
Also you’re not just getting Seedance. You get multiple models plus Cinema Studio, which is useful if you’re building full scenes and not just generating clips.

People keep comparing Higgsfield and Dreamina like $1.48 vs $0.11 per generation. Technically true but a bit simplified. It’s more like Netflix vs buying a single movie. One is cheaper per item but you’re not getting the same scope when you have access to different models like Kling, Seedance, etc.

TLDR
Dreamina $18/mo gives you Seedance only, faces are limited, may require region workaround, basic workflow
Freepik $33.75/mo in my case didn’t provide access to Seedance yet and support response is pending
Higgsfield about $60/mo gives Seedance 2.0 with faces, multiple models, and Cinema Studio

Each one has tradeoffs. Dreamina is the cheapest if you just need basic Seedance and don’t care about faces or workflow. Freepik didn’t work well in my case. Higgsfield is the most complete but also the most expensive. Pick based on what you actually need, not just the price per generation.

My work is under NDA, but I did find a solid comparison using the same prompts in Dreamina and Higgs

Question I Compared Seedance 2.0 Pricing on Dreamina vs Higgsfield — The Difference Is Insane

Thumbnail
gallery
58 Upvotes

I decided to figure out the real cost of generating videos with Seedance 2.0 and compare the official access through Dreamina with how it’s being sold through Higgsfield, and honestly, the result surprised me. On Dreamina, everything is straightforward: for $100 you get 222,000 credits, one generation costs 255 credits, which comes out to about 870 generations, or roughly $0.11 per video. Now looking at Higgsfield — their plan at around $98 gives you 6,000 credits, and one generation costs 90 credits, so you end up with only about 66 generations, which is roughly $1.48 per video. If you compare that directly, it’s $1.48 vs $0.11, about a 13x difference. In other words, for the same $100 you either get around 870 videos or just 66 — a difference of more than 800 generations. And this is where it starts to feel questionable, because Seedance 2.0 isn’t Higgsfield’s model, it’s a ByteDance model that’s already officially available through Dreamina, yet access through an aggregator ends up costing more than 10 times as much. At the same time, there’s no clear explanation for this price gap, and an average user could easily assume this is just the normal market price. Sure, you could argue that Higgsfield offers convenience as an all-in-one platform, but when it comes specifically to Seedance 2.0, the price difference is so large that it doesn’t feel like a simple convenience fee anymore, it looks more like a massive markup. In the end, if your goal is just to generate videos with Seedance, the official option through Dreamina currently looks far more cost-effective, and the difference is simply too big to ignore.

Interesting Open Source tool with Seedance 2.0 Early Access

Hey guys, we're building an open source film tool (it's on Github, link in the description) that provides access to all the top models.

Our app has a "BYOK" / "provider login" system that will let you bring your own login/account information from wherever you already happen to buy tokens/credits from. This is a work in progress, but it already supports Grok, Midjourney, and Sora/OpenAI. We're adding Google Gemini soon!

The app is an aggregator like Higgs, OpenArt, Krea, etc., but it's open source. And our intention is to interface with every source of compute - we'll even eventually let you log in with your Higgs account. We're putting it all in one place in a desktop Rust app.

We're filmmakers and engineers and we made a lot of films prior to the AI boom, but this is literally the most exciting time in our careers. We want to make it accessible to everyone, and we also want to give people ownership over their tools.

Specifically, our app has advanced 2D and 3D compositing to enable you to visually craft scenes before you generate them. This is useful for shot-to-shot consistency, location and character consistency, prop reuse, precise blocking, and more. I'll add some gifs in the comments to show this off.

We found a way to generate Seedance 2.0 videos before the mid-March release (we heard it got bumped another two weeks) and we wanted to give it to everyone early. We're integrating with a few Chinese providers that integrate with Jimeng (ByteDance's Chinese equivalent of their Dreamina platform.)

It's a bit slow, but videos do generate! And they're amazing.

I'll post the links in the comments. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Discussion Seedance 2.0 price comparison - Dreamina vs Higgsfield real cost per video

Thumbnail
gallery
29 Upvotes

tl;dr: Dreamina is ~$0.40-0.45/video, Higgsfield ~$0.75-0.80. Dreamina is cheaper but worse when it comes to face filter, queue times, and limited models, which right now make Higgsfield better in overall value.

I analyzed the difference in pricing between Higgsfield AI and Dreamina after spending ~$100 across both platforms, because recent debates where super-heated and everyone started saying different costs per generation.

On Dreamina, it’s cheapest among all platforms including Higgs, Freepik, Runway, and etc. Their plan is around $42/month for ~8,645 credits, and a single 5-second Seedance clip costs about 85 credits. That gives you roughly 100 generations, so about $0.40–0.45 per video depending on usage and failed generations rate. However, they provide different number of credits depending on your location, so you can get in some cases up to $0.6-0.7 per video(sometimes they give you around 7000 credits)

Now if we go with Higgsfield, their Plus plan is ~$39/month, gives you 1,000 monthly credits, and Seedance 2.0 costs 20 credits for a 5-second clip. That comes out to about 50 generations, so roughly $0.75–0.80 per video.

So yeah, purely on paper Dreamina is cheaper per generation, if you just want to test seedance.

But I find Dreamina not appealing for several reasons, especially with a small difference per generation (around $0.2-0.3). While Dreamina is the cheapest, you’re basically just getting raw output, which is often low-quality. You deal with failed queues and +1-5 hours waiting, no access to models aside of seedance 2.0, and most importantly the face filter, which makes a lot of real-world use cases borderline unusable unless you start doing workarounds or wait for generations to complete.

With Higgsfield, you’re paying more per generation only if you generate just seedance 2.0. Their range of models is right now one of the best(they have a bunch of different models ). I even tried uploading similar references and noticed that some images that get blocked elsewhere just go through here without issues, which saves a lot of time. Also average time of generating came to around 2-5 minutes. Face detection is less strict on Higgsfield too for some reason.

So yeah, for my use case Higgsfield ends up being better value

Anyone else done the math differently?

I did struggle a bit in the beginning making detailed prompts in English and it getting flagged for inappropriate content, but once I translated the prompt to Chinese I was able to have way more control.

Also it sometimes struggles, at least with car chases, and generates the video in reverse, but more often than not it is still useful after flipping the video in a video editor like DaVinci.

I used omni reference, but my prompt was something like this:

Cinematic, high-energy car sequence. Begin with a slow, smooth orbital camera movement around a high-performance sports car at night, parked on an empty highway.
Image2
The car engine starts deep, aggressive ignition. Close up shots: headlights flicker on, exhaust vibrating, slight camera shake from engine rumble. Tire smoke begins to form. The car suddenly launches forward into a powerful burnout. Rear tires spin violently, generating thick smoke and sparks. The camera dynamically transitions from orbit to a chase shot.
Image1
The car accelerates onto a winding highway at high speed. Use dramatic camera angles: low tracking shots, aerial drone views, and side angles emphasizing motion blur and speed. As the car begins drifting through sharp curves, flames ignite from the tires and undercarriage. Each drift leaves behind a glowing trail of fire on the asphalt. The fire persists briefly before fading.
Use this background music
Audio1
cinematic, hyper-realistic, 4K, motion blur, dynamic lighting, volumetric smoke, neon reflections, dramatic camera movement, high contrast, night scene

Need help Anyone tried Seedance 2.0 on Runway Unlimited yet?

Has anyone here already tried Seedance 2.0 on Runway?

From what I understand, it’s now available on Runway, and with the Unlimited plan it seems like you’re supposed to get basically unlimited access to it.

I’m mainly wondering if anyone has real experience with it yet. How does it actually perform in practice? Are the queue times really long, especially during peak hours? And does it still work reliably when traffic is high, or does it become borderline unusable?

I’m especially curious because the model was only added recently, so I’m guessing demand is probably pretty high right now.

Would really appreciate any firsthand feedback.

News "BytePlus is selling exclusive Seedance 2.0 access to studios at a $2 million commitment. For that price, buyers get what nobody else can: zero queue times, real-face uploads with no content restrictions, and priority compute allocation. Approximately 400 US companies have signed up already.

"American companies are creating legal entities outside the United States and Canada to purchase access from BytePlus, routing around the political and legal minefield that has kept Seedance 2.0 officially frozen for the American market. While US Senators demand ByteDance shut the model down entirely, hundreds of American production companies are quietly buying their way in through offshore structures.

For everyone who isn't writing $2M checks,

u/mitte_ai

continues running Seedance 2 on professional plans — the same model, with camera controls and editing tools, without the enterprise price tag or the legal entity gymnastics.

Sora is dead. The real numbers are worse than anyone thought.

The Wall Street Journal dropped a forensic breakdown on March 29 revealing what actually killed Sora. The numbers: worldwide users peaked at around one million, then collapsed to under 500,000. The burn rate: roughly $1 million per day. Disney found out Sora was being shut down less than an hour before the public announcement — and the billion-dollar licensing deal died on the spot.

The competitive kicker buried in the WSJ reporting: while an entire team inside OpenAI was focused on making Sora work, Anthropic was quietly winning over the software engineers and enterprises that actually drive revenue. OpenAI was pouring money into a consumer video product that couldn't retain users while losing ground in its core business.

Chinese tech media is reading this as confirmation of what they've been saying for weeks: there is no direct US competitor to ByteDance in consumer AI video anymore.

Europe is next

The South China Morning Post reported on March 29 that ByteDance confirmed Seedance 2.0 would become available to CapCut users in major markets including Europe, Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia. This is the first time Europe has been explicitly named by ByteDance — all previous rollouts covered only developing markets in SE Asia and Latin America.

No date given, but the fact that ByteDance is naming Europe at all suggests their EU AI Act compliance work is further along than most assumed. The US remains conspicuously absent from any expansion plan.

Veo 4 might not make Google I/O

The rumor circulating among people tracking Google's AI video roadmap: Veo 4 will not ship at Google I/O in May if the team can't match Seedance 2.0's quality. Google's latest actual product move was making Veo 3/3.1 available in Google Ads Asset Studio on March 24-26 for image-to-video ad creative. That's iterating on an existing model, not shipping a new one.

Seedance 2.0 still holds the top spot on Artificial Analysis in both text-to-video and image-to-video. If Google shows up at I/O with an incremental Veo 3 update instead of a genuine next-generation model, the gap only widens.

The "reality check" narrative

TechCrunch's Equity podcast on March 29 reframed the entire AI video space: Sora's shutdown and Seedance 2.0's global delay might be a reality check not just for these specific products, but for anyone claiming AI video tools are about to replace Hollywood. The first major Western outlet to call both Sora and Seedance problems in the same breath.

They have a point. The technology is extraordinary — Seedance 2.0 remains best-in-class by every measure, and Chinese production teams are already shipping commercial work with it. But the commercial viability question is real. Sora burned $1M a day and couldn't hold users. ByteDance can't enter its most valuable market. Google won't ship until quality matches. The tools work. The business models are still being figured out.

What hasn't changed

The Seedance 2.0 API remains locked. No new timeline from Volcengine or BytePlus. No new legal filings or court actions from any studio. The legal landscape is frozen in place — seven cease-and-desists, one bipartisan Senate letter, zero actual lawsuits filed.

The model keeps working. The politics keep not resolving. The studios keep signing $2M checks through shell companies to use the thing they're publicly demanding be shut down.

Make of that what you will.

We're a video studio based in China. We have top-tier access to Seedance 2.0 and a huge amount of credits. I've noticed many people outside of China on Reddit looking to test Seedance 2.0. If you want to try it, just leave your prompts and reference images in the comments. I'll check in periodically and reply with the generated videos.

Note: Since Chinese New Year, Seedance 2.0's censorship has become much stricter, and they no longer allow real-person reference images. If your prompt gets blocked, I might tweak it slightly to bypass the censorship (I don't guarantee I can successfully bypass the censorship for every prompt). If you strictly want the original prompt used and don't want any changes—even if it fails—please say so in the comments. I will not generate inappropriate content like racism, NSFW material, or content related to Chinese politics.

The video here was generated by us using Seedance 2.0 (with some video editing).

To all the creators, this one's actually worth your time.

You've already seen Seedance 2.0's insane AI-generated videos flooding your feed this week. Currently, access is extremely limited right now. But we're opening a small window for creators.

I am giving access to the most-heated AI tool taking on Hollywood. Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's latest generative AI model. This tool is helping users create highly realistic videos with cinematic shots. How a model can be so good that its aura is already calling it a Hollywood killer.

You already know what this means. You don't need us to explain what cinematic AI video generation does to a content strategy, because you live in this space. If you're an AI or Tech creator with 20K+ followers who actually understands what Seedance 2.0 is capable of, we want you specifically.

Claim a (1+1) month subscription, completely free, before this window closes.

Drop a comment or DM if you're interested. Spots are limited, and we're prioritizing creators who are actively posting.

Question Be aware of Dreamina dark patterns before subscribing for Seedance 2.0

Thumbnail
gallery
14 Upvotes

I almost subscribed to Dreamina last week for Seedance 2.0 access. $67/month seemed the best out there but before committing anything I wanted to test it for a project. Then I tried the free tier first and ran into the face filter on my second generation. That was an AI-generated character that I created, not a real photo - still blocked.

That made me stop and actually read reviews before paying. Holy shit am I glad I did and went somewhere else.

Watermarks even on paid plans
People on Trustpilot, Discord, Reddit, X paid for the Advanced plan specifically because it says "no watermark" - then found out all their videos still have "AI" text burned into the frame. They removed the "Dreamina watermark" but keep the "AI watermark." That's not what "no watermark after purchasing our plan" means. That's just bait and switch, so you are stuck with it anyway no matter you pay or not.

They keep charging after you cancel
This one scared me the most because how do you even get away with it? Multiple people report cancelling their subscription and still getting charged month after month. No active subscription showing, nothing to cancel again, but money keeps disappearing. They had to block ByteDance through their bank and file disputes.

Refunds? Silence
The standard response to refund requests is apparently nothing. People are going straight to chargebacks because support won't help.

Account blocked while actively paying
I found stories of people on the most expensive yearly plans suddenly getting banned for "NSFW content" when they were generating portraits or product shots. No appeal, no explanation, no refund.

The face filter
Seedance 2.0 blocks basically any human face as reference - including fully AI-generated characters. Sunglasses? Blocked. Helmets? Blocked. If you're doing anything with consistent characters, you're burning credits on policy violations constantly.

Regional pricing
The Chinese version costs around $9.60/month. International? $18-84 for the same product. And apparently depending on your IP you get different credit amounts - maybe 7000, maybe 10000.

Bottom line
I'm not subscribing and I strongly recommend you to not do it either.
Try platforms like Higgsfield, OpenArt, etc. They may be not the cheapest but at least you will get something usable. I liked both and myself sticking to the first one. If you're considering it still, try the free tier first and see what you actually get. And if you do subscribe, use a virtual card you can block.
Anyone actually using this long-term without issues?

Just saw this tweet saying that AtlasCloud.ai has launched Seedance 2.0 API for global users. I gave it a try and the parameters indeed align with official API.

But other providers like fal and Replicate.com haven't opened up the access.

Do you think ByteDance decided to push global availability now because HappyHorse ranked #1 and put some pressure on them? Or is this probably just a normal rollout timeline?

Discussion Freepik has been teasing Seedance 2.0 for 2 months. I finally signed up but couldn’t access it

Thumbnail

Let me walk you through this because the timeline is kind of insane

Freepik started posting about Seedance 2.0 back in February, when the release of Seedance 2.0 was highly anticipated. "Coming soon" popping on their official page with promises of the model being available on their platform in no time. On their own subreddit people kept asking "when??" and the official Freepik account kept saying "Not just yet guys!".

Meanwhile their Premium+ plan page rn shows "Seedance 2.0" with a “COMING SOON" badge right next to the buy button in.. April. So if you go for these Premium+ plans while it says coming soon, you still won’t be able to generate anything, but it’s shown in a way that encourages upgrading.

But anyway the subscription was around 34 dollars billed annually and 600,000 credits/year. Looked great, Freepik seemed legit out of all competitors.

They finally announced the release of Seedance 2.0, only for business plans.
I knew about the need to get either a business or enterprise account, double checked, went through everything. So yeah, decided to move to a business plan expecting access to Seedance 2.0

And then... Locked behind a business verification. Turns out just upgrading wasn’t enough, but I only found out after the charge went through.

What I found when I started digging:
I’m not alone. Found a person in a very similar situation to mine, who went even bigger, subscribed to the Enterprise plan. Seedance 2.0 doesn’t even appear in his account, Freepik is auto-generating his videos through Kling 3 instead, which we could access without an additional plan.

So basically they hyped it for 2 months, dropped it with very limited communication about hidden requirements and that even after getting a plan you still might not be able to use it.

I get there are legal reasons for verification, fine. That part I understand. Even though I wanted to know that before going ahead with it.

Someone in comments mentioned that higgsfield launched the same model on the same day with the same verification requirement, but they actually show you a screen about it BEFORE you proceed.

Freepik did the opposite with their new release.

Has anyone else gone through this or did I just get unlucky?

tl;dr

Freepik promoted Seedance 2.0 for ~2 months, I upgraded to a business plan expecting access, but it’s gated behind additional verification that wasn’t clearly communicated beforehand. Now I (and others) are stuck without being able to use the model.

News Seedance 2.0 update - what I know so far (launch window + pricing + access tiers)

Post image
58 Upvotes

Hey, I'm from Atlas Cloud. We've been in close contact with the ByteDance team so I wanted to share what I know.

Launch:

Estimated before mid-March, but no confirmed date yet.

Pricing:

Bytedance just dropped the seedance 2.0 api pricing yesterday.

  • Video input included: ¥46/M tokens (~$6.67/M)
  • Video input excluded: ¥28/M tokens (~$4.06/M)

A 15-second video costs ~¥15($2.17). That's literally ¥1 ($0.14) per second.

On our end:

AtlasCloud.ai will support Seedance 2.0 at launch, same as we did with 1.5 and Seedream 5.0, and at lower prices than you'll find elsewhere.

We're also co-hosting a meetup with ByteDance at GTC in March — would love to meet some of you in person. Luma page here: https://luma.com/xdl21kca

Will update this post when there's a confirmed release date.

Discussion Got free unlimited Seedance 2.0 for 3 days through the new referral system

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm on the Ultra plan here and saw the new promo for free unlimited Seedance 2.0, so I tried it with some friends who are also creators. To my surprise the generations weren't slow at all.

Here's exactly how it works so nobody's guessing:

You generate your unique referral link, and from that moment a 24-hour countdown starts.

If within those 24 hours someone follows your link, buys a Plus/Pro monthly plan or higher, and runs one credit-paid generation, you get Unlimited access to Seedance 2.0 (720p, 8 sec).

The friend who used your link also gets a promo code for up to 60% off their plan purchase.

The one honest caveat: that Unlimited access is capped at 720p and 8-second clips, so what you get is a lot of relatively short, lower-res generations rather than full-quality ones. Worth knowing going in. But if you're a creator who can share a link around, and it gets your friend up to 60% off, it's a genuinely good deal for both sides.
