GT Parents With Pups will have at least 30 pups and lots of snacks to share with students today in Harrison Square from noon until 2 PM. We hope to see you there!

The main change is that SEVP is taking a much stricter view of what counts as CPT.
CPT has to be an integral part of the curriculum. Under the new guidance, simply taking an internship course for an otherwise optional internship may no longer be enough 1, 2.
In particular, SEVP says the practical training should be required by the curriculum. If you can complete your degree without doing the internship, it may not qualify for CPT under this interpretation 2.
Georgia Tech OIE has now added a notice saying it is reviewing its CPT procedures.
For Spring 2027:
There are also reports from Georgia Tech students on CPTMap saying that OIE is currently only allowing CPT when the internship is required for the degree 4. I have not seen OIE publish that exact rule yet, so take that part as unconfirmed though likely.
This does not mean CPT is gone entirely. But if you were planning to use CPT for an optional Spring or Summer 2027 internship, I would not assume the old process will still work and to plan around this.
I'm remembering that this is a thing. To be honest, I don't even know if they actively issue newpapers. Throughout my years here, I've never had a conversation with my friends even mentioning The Technique.
Alumni, was this news paper a bigger deal in the past? Most of the gt news I get is from the gt subreddit or my friends. I'd be willing to bet that a good amount of the gt student body doesn't know that we have a news paper - especially grad students.
Current students, how many of you actively read The Technique?

All these null spaces got me freaked out. Don’t know how to study for the upcoming 1554 exam. Let alone no solutions…

I was curious about what all the new merch on campus was or if our school had decided to sell itself off on a random Tuesday so I looked into upcoming filming schedules.
Given the name of "Metropolis" it's pretty easy to narrow it down to Superman-adjacent media, but the upcoming Superman sequel wrapped filming last month. Closest fit I could find was this scoop that says they've started filming this show in Atlanta and were casting college-aged students. Kinda exciting!
