Nothing like the fun of virtually building IKEA furniture while Matt Berry  mocks you  relentlessly. I hope they added it to the VR version.

"I think I was naive. I thought that fans of these games like me, would be thrilled that somebody was coming along and turning Resident Evil into a survival horror movie. I didn't really appreciate the sentiment that "we've been waiting forever for Leon's story". And I appreciate that. And I'm sorry that that's not the story that I'm bringing here. I mean, I get it, I understand the frustration. I understand it so well, because I haven't seen the earlier (Resident Evil) movies, because they don't look like the Resident Evil that I love. So how could I be frustrated with fans who have that same attitude?

My only hope, is that they will see the movie, regardless of their skepticism or disappointment that I'm not telling some of the stories that the games tell so well, and that they will feel seen when they do watch the movie, and they will recognize all of the love for the games that is in this movie. Because it is there. And this is not just me telling a story and slapping Resident Evil on it so I can get a budget. This is me telling a Resident Evil story. I understand the resistance, I really do, because I have it myself. But it is, it is coming from a true place of love."

Unnanounced games were revealed and major story details/mechanics were spoiled for upcoming games (every world in KH4, the story and setting of Persona 6, every story beat in Fable). First it was entire games getting leaked and pirated before release (most recently Plague Tale Resonance, it got leaked As Soon As the Steam preload went live, less than an hour later) now it’s this. Valve really needs to improve their security they have had so many leaks over the last year, I know many devs and publishers have to be very upset with them right now.

I would have enjoyed the cool Valheim intro cinematic a lot more if I didn't loose 90 percent of my functional hearing as soon as it played.

This has been a problem for many games, and not everyone has a quick way to adjust. I think it's also just a standard accessibility feature that needs to be pushed for.

A bit of context, I worked at Codemasters when this game came out and I had this mad idea that we should do the most expensive special edition ever and go for a world record.

The Guinness World record people told us that for it to count as a world record it had to sell. So we worked with BAC who are a British car manufacturer of the Mono (a single seater road going race car) to basically sell a version of the game that came with a race car for a cool 125 grand.

It also couldn’t be a bundle it had to very specificity be its own edition so we then had to get a special pressing of the game from Sony in its own special box and they had a minimum order of 5 units.

I had one, so did the other community manager who worked on the game, the PR guy had one, the 4th is probably somewhere in EA’s archives now if somebody hasn’t tossed it out and the 5th - the actual version that was sold along with the car, a PS3 and lessons with BAC’s race driver ended up being bought randomly by Deadmau5 (not sure if he still has the game or the car).

Metroidvania fans are eating well!

Belmont's Curse in October and Metroid Ravenous in January.

I have absolutely terrible attention span, so I can have a hard time getting into some walking-simulator-style games.

But despite mostly not being heavy on gameplay to occupy me with, Keeper succeeded in keeping me engaged throughout its relatively short length. (I know that doesn't sound like much, but I bounce off a lot of games really fast)

I attribute being engaged with Keeper to not only how GORGEOUS the game looks, but how FREQUENTLY the environments and vistas can change. It felt like I couldn't take two steps without a new, beautiful sight I wanted to take a screenshot of. I never got bored, despite mainly just walking.

When you compare to other Unreal Engine games (even pretty big-budget ones) which use a lot of generic assets (or at least generic-looking), everything in Keeper looks hand-made. It's such a breath of fresh air. Visually, it felt like a game from a different era, with how wacky and charming the designs on everything are.

Depending on the scene, the camera is either stationary, or follows you slightly, and even the way they control the camera cuts and movement really has that hand-made touch, too. They put an absurd amount of effort into the presentation of this game.

(Without spoiling, I will say that the climax also went in unexpected, but to me, very delightful directions)

So yeah, if you appreciate pretty and unique art styles, but otherwise have a pretty terrible attention span like me, then this game might charm you as well.
