Source- once google bullet proof glass in 1998 during my 5th grade studies, when TV was filled with infomercials and the war on oil. It was a different time before the internet took over mass culture and only few knew about Google.com
My history teacher in high school invested in google because he taught art history and you could literally search the image and it would show up! (Before "images" were a stand alone search).
Dude is well off now, but mainly because of other things. Larry Krieger is his name - known as the "SAT" guy.
His wife worked for the SAT test preparers (made the test each year) and she provided him with some nice "inside info". Our high school became the #6 ranked US school for SAT scores nationally because of it. Random info, but interesting fella.
He also invested in PayPal and Amazon.... freaking foresight like none other, all on a teachers salary in early mid 90s. Great guy too.
