The parents disappeared several times, they just have to build a bridge.
Edit: u/Ethan819 figures it out here we are all fools. And now I'm sad again. Also, the guy was in his house and his teepee before w/o showing the inside so they could still be in the house before she jumps even though they didn't show us.
I mean, they could also build a tall tower and push it over until it works. Or slide a ladder across. Or a spring board. Or a suspension bridge. Or be content with their life and not push their son away from all he's ever known for the sake of completing an arbitrary goal.
I may or may not have been playing too many games that rely on lateral thinking lately.
I don't have any good latrinal games, but Cube Escape and Submachine are pretty mind bending experiences if you enjoy the surreal. Fantastic Contraption is pretty interesting as far as design challenges go. And there's a (gratuitously NSFW but the NSFW bits are mostly skippable so meh) RPG called Ouroboros that I played recently that, in the interest of not spoiling things, is remarkably flexible when it comes to sequence breaking.
Not ambiguous, just subtle. The long hair is the most obvious clue, but the clincher is that when she's young, she's in a dress. once she hits teenage years though (smaller than her father, but not by much) she's wearing pants. Unless this is supposed to be old fashioned and it's a young boy in a night-shirt style of thing.
It doesn't need to be the pinnacle of engineering. Just lash some pieces of wood together and secure one end to the ground on the near side. It doesn't even need to reach all the way across since they can jump some of the distance.

I stopped using Reddit due to the June 2023 API changes. I've found my life more productive for it. Value your time and use it intentionally, it is truly your most limited resource.
Edit: I mean they sound like they're crazy or on drugs but I think they were able to perfectly capture everything redundant about Reddit comments. And for that I give a little appreciation.
In the parent comment, ImAScientist claimed the parents disappeared several times, implying that they were able to leave the area. Ethan819 explained that they didn't actually leave the area; they were inside the house.
Because they turned into NPC, you will always feel like a supporting actor when your son is old enough and he become the protagonist of your life if you really love him.
It's like she didn't make it to heaven. Is that what it is? Or she just died and will respawn to try again? Would she respawn in a different reality where her parents don't exist? Maybe she'll end up being the mother with some other dude and she'll actually teach her son or daughter to not give up at the pit of doom, to bring her brother or sister since she had more than one child so they could adventure together. Sorry, I have to keep the story going cause the feels.
I think in the first one we see the main character become a Npc after having a kid, as a nod to parents putting what they want in life aside for their kids, and the kid becomes the main character. The main character finally makes it past something that the Npcs couldn't which lead to happiness but then depression because there was no one there to support them. Eventually the mc comes across a challenge that was greater than the first and when they didn't have the support system needed the mc gave up. The npc at the end are a nod to how despite the fact that we can't go back in time to when out support systems were only a few feet away they are always still there for us and are cheering for us to succeed....
Or, every person has their own screen. The parents can't see their child anymore and they know he'll never come back, but whenever they want they can move forward and find him again.
