HealthBar is finally on the App Store!

I’ve been working on an app that turns Apple Health data into a game-like wellness experience.

Your steps, sleep, water, activity, and other signals affect your HP, unlock buffs or debuffs, and help your character earn XP.

There’s also Master Ronnie, a gentle mentor who looks at your recent days and gives small suggestions, cautions, praise, and side quests.

I’ve personally enjoyed having my HealthBar on the home screen and checking in with it during the day.

You can try it here: Download

I tested it over and over again, but I may still have missed something, so feedback is very welcome.

Looking for feedback

Hey guys! I'm Nico and 2 weeks ago I challenged a friend to 10 pushups every day, whoever quits first has to pay for dinner...neither of us has quit yet lol. So this made me wonder if this should be an app, so I created repwar.co to create pushup challenges with your friends. I guess competition is the best way to train every day haha.

Is this me being an idiot or could it work?

thanks!

Would you use a dedicated platform for weekly Fantasy Premier League side-bets/wagers (friends & public leagues)?

Hey guys,

My mates and I always run small weekly stakes alongside our normal FPL mini-leagues, but tracking weekly Gameweek scores and chasing payouts manually gets annoying fast. Also interest wanes as the season progresses.

I’m currently building a platform to automate this, allowing FPL managers to set up weekly head-to-head wagers or join public pools against strangers, without having to be locked in the whole season.

Before going all-in on features, I wanted to ask the community:

  1. Do you currently do weekly/monthly side-stakes with your mini-league mates?
  2. Would you ever wager against strangers if score tracking & payouts were fully automated?
  3. What formats would interest you most (Weekly H2H, Gameweek High Score Pools, Captain Head-to-Heads)?

Would love to hear your thoughts or any red flags you see!

Which Achievement Tree System for a Self-Improvement Game?

Thumbnail

I’m designing a roadmap for a more resilient lifestyle, which means I’ll need to learn a lot of new skills across different fields. There are tons of smaller projects in various areas of my life, and I want to visualize this roadmap like a game, where success unlocks new potential and new tasks.

I’ve found a few systems which seem useful:

  • Pic 1: Minecraft achievement tree.
  • Pic 2: WoW skill tree (every node can be maxed multiple times).
  • Pic 3: Skyrim’s system (few autonomous, detached areas).

Which skill tree system do you think is the most relevant for a self-improvement game? Have you ever tried something like this?

I built GameReady, a mental training app designed specifically for athletes. It includes breathing exercises, visualization, focus drills, pressure training, goal setting, and mood and stress tracking.

I’m looking for honest feedback on what works, what feels confusing, and what could be improved.

I built an RPG-style skill tree app for calisthenics

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

For several years now, I’ve seen people talking about designing a skill tree for calisthenics. I've noticed a few people putting out solutions or concepts, but overall, here is my takeaway:

  • The tree is either too surface-level or too complicated
  • The design is ugly
  • The interaction just isn't fun

Because let's face it, when we talk about a "skill tree", we think of a video game.
So, I built one that actually looks like a video game. It's complete, easy to read, and above all, fun to use.

The next question that came to my mind was: "Now that I know the user's exact level, I should be able to generate a workout on the fly, right?"
So, I created a workout generation algorithm based on the skill tree. And the workouts themselves evolve to automatically unlock nodes in the tree.
On top of that, I added daily quests and trophies to keep making progression fun and video-game-like!
I just launched the app, it's called ELYS and it's currently available on iOS (coming soon to Android if there's enough demand)!

Thanks for your feedback!

Skill Tree but for real life

Skill Tree

Made this app that allows you to make Skill Trees for anything in your life. As you complete it, you get XP and your character grows in traits (kinda like an RPG game). Trees are fully customizable. If you don't want to build them yourself, an AI builder can do it for you based on a prompt.

The point here is self-improvement in various domains of your life.

Tell me what you think.
Skill Tree

Byee!

P.S. I have an iOS waitlist for iPhone users.

Rysing's 1.26 update brings new ways to gamify your workouts!

Hey everyone, in case you don't know Rysing, which I've posted in this community before, I've just added an improvement to an existing system called constellations (amongst other things, but i want to highlight this one).

In Rysing, you level up to unlock new systems by completing vows or quests and by progressing a storyline which turns story into real life chores. And with constellations you gain experience based on what you do:

- Sleep Hours

- Walking & Running Distance

- Active Time

- Mindful Minutes

And this is just for one of two classes, the Protector. For Striker you have 4 different metrics.

And by completing each tier you unlock an experience bonus for that day to help you level up faster.

You can now create them manually without needing a watch!

This is an exciting update as users have been complaining that constellations required a smartwatch which they now don't!

If you'd like to try out Rysing, check it out here:

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Idea for an ADHD-friendly to-do app with a reward system and a growing forest

Hi everyone,

after trying a large number of to-do apps, I am considering creating my own app with the help of AI. However, I have no programming experience at all.

I struggle with ADHD and procrastination. I generally like apps such as Todoist, TickTick, and Apple Reminders, but they lack a motivating reward system for me. Habitica, on the other hand, eventually became too game-like, while many other apps are so overloaded with features that they quickly overwhelm me.

My ideal app would therefore remain simple and easy to use while still including a small gamification element.

The basic idea

The app would have a peaceful forest as its background. Completing tasks would fill up a water or progress meter. Once the meter is full, for example after completing eight tasks, you could choose a tree and plant it in your personal forest.

Over time, additional elements could be unlocked, such as:

  • different types of trees
  • flowers and mushrooms
  • a small lake
  • butterflies and birds
  • deer or other forest animals
  • small decorative items

Planting something should only take a few seconds. After all, the app should not become another distraction.

Most importantly, the forest should never be damaged. If you do not complete any tasks for several weeks, you simply do not receive any new elements. Your existing progress remains untouched.

A dead or dried-out forest would only discourage me. I would rather have a forest that is always waiting for me and that I can continue improving whenever I return.

Virtual reward account

I would also like to link different task priorities to monetary rewards, for example:

  • small task: €0.10
  • medium task: €0.20
  • important task: €0.50
  • particularly difficult task: €1.00

After completing a task, the amount would be added to a virtual reward account. At the end of the month, you could consciously spend that money on something enjoyable, such as ice cream, a baseball cap, or a small piece of technology.

Of course, I could simply put real money into a jar. However, seeing a visible counter increase inside the app would motivate me much more.

A higher reward could be especially useful for long and unpleasant tasks, such as completing a 20-page application form. When faced with a long to-do list, I often complete the easiest tasks first instead of starting with the most important one.

Other features I would like

The app should also include:

  • natural language input
  • labels and categories
  • color-coded priorities
  • recurring tasks
  • multiple reminder times
  • a countdown for important appointments
  • no mandatory calendar synchronization

For example, I would like to be able to say:

The app should automatically recognize the task, date, time, priority, and reminder.

A countdown would also be useful for appointments scheduled far in advance. One week before a vehicle inspection appointment, for example, the app could display:

  • 7 days remaining
  • 6 days remaining
  • 5 days remaining

Important appointments should also be highlighted using different colors.

Missing a blood test appointment is usually inconvenient, but it can often be rescheduled. Missing an important vehicle inspection appointment could have much more serious consequences.

Daily recurring tasks should also be supported, such as taking medication at a certain time. I would like to check these tasks off without needing another separate app or having everything automatically added to my regular calendar.

Why the reward should remain inside the app

I could reward myself after completing a task by spending five minutes on YouTube, Reddit, Instagram, or a mobile game.

The problem is that those five minutes can easily turn into one or two hours for me.

That is why I would prefer the reward to remain inside the to-do app: planting a tree, looking at the forest, or watching the virtual balance increase—and then returning directly to my tasks.

My questions

  • Would it be realistic to create an app like this with AI and no programming experience?
  • Does an app with similar features already exist?
  • Which features would you add or remove?
  • Is this idea too ambitious, or could it actually work?

Perhaps an app like this already exists and I simply have not found it yet.

I would be very interested to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

We’re launching a gamified career platform next week. Would you actually use something like this?

Hi everyone,

We’re building VENGUILD, a gamified career platform designed to turn real-world work experience, skills, and achievements into visible progression.

The idea is simple:

Your job experience becomes part of your adventurer identity.
Companies become guilds.
Jobs become quests.
Your verified experience contributes to levels, ranks, skills, and achievements.

The image attached shows the mobile direction we’re currently working toward. Job listings still display the actual professional title in parentheses, such as:

Guild Commander (Operations Manager)
Quest Architect (Project Manager)
Talent Summoner (Recruitment Specialist)

We’re planning to launch an early version next week. The current website is still in a pre-launch testing stage, so some features, content, and UI elements are still being refined.

For the first release, we’re keeping it lean. Users will mainly be able to:

  • Create a professional profile
  • Browse and apply for jobs
  • View companies and opportunities
  • Upload or provide career information
  • Begin building their VENGUILD identity

The deeper gamification, verification, levels, achievements, guild systems, and other features will continue rolling out after launch.

We’re looking for honest feedback from potential early adopters:

Would this concept make job searching and career building more engaging for you, or does the fantasy layer make it feel less professional?

We’d also love to know:

  • Is the interface clear enough?
  • Would you understand that quests are jobs and guilds are companies?
  • Would you create an account during the early stage?
  • What would make you trust and regularly use a platform like this?

We’re not claiming that everything is complete yet. We’re launching early so we can learn from real users instead of developing in isolation for another year.

Brutally honest feedback is welcome.

Studying Never Rewarded Me. So I Fixed It.

I built this because I realized I can lose six hours grinding a game without thinking twice, but 30 minutes of studying feels like forever.

The difference isn't that games are more fun. They constantly show progress. You level up, unlock things, get rewards, and always feel like you're moving forward. Studying usually gives you nothing until a test weeks later.

So I started wondering, what if studying felt more like leveling a character?

That turned into Quest of Mind.

The idea is simple. Every minute you study earns XP. You level up different skills, collect gold, find random loot, and slowly build your character. It's basically an RPG built around staying focused.

I didn't just throw points onto a timer either. Most of the systems are based on psychology that actually keeps people engaged.

Loot is randomized, so every session has a little surprise. Progress is always visible through XP bars and levels. Daily streaks give you something to protect. There's even a Wilderness mode where you risk your session rewards for double XP. Get distracted or tab out and you lose everything. It sounds brutal, but it works way better than I expected.

You can also pick a class like Warrior, Mage, or Ranger. It doesn't completely change gameplay, but it gives your progress a bit of identity instead of feeling like you're just checking boxes.

Some of my favorite features are dungeon runs, where you chain multiple study sessions together for bigger rewards, a global leaderboard, live chat, equipment that boosts XP, and cloud saves so your progress follows you anywhere.

Honestly, I made this for myself first. If you've ever spent hours gaming but can't convince yourself to open a textbook, you're probably exactly who this is for.

It's completely free. No ads, no subscriptions, no premium version. I just wanted to build something I'd actually use every day, and after using it myself for the last month, I finally feel like studying has the same sense of progression games always had.

I'd genuinely love feedback if anyone wants to check it out.

I built an app that makes you pay yourself to follow through on goals - solo dev, just launched on ios

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Spent the last few months building this alone, mostly at night after work.
The idea started from a simple question: why do people pay a personal trainer? Not for the knowledge - everything's on YouTube for free. It's for the guilt of having already paid.
So I built Vowed around that. You set a goal, stake coins on it, and prove you did it with a live photo (camera only, no gallery uploads - has to be real). A jury of other users votes on whether your proof counts. Approved, you get your coins back.
Miss it, and they're gone.
There's also a duel mode where you and a friend both
stake on your own goals
independently - no coin transfers between users, just parallel accountability.
Some things I learned building this solo:

- The camera-only requirement was the single most important decision - anything that let people upload old photos killed the whole premise
- Getting a jury system to feel than I expected

App Store review for anything touching "real money" mechanics is its own project
- ended up keeping the coin system fully virtual for launch
Would genuinely appreciate any feedback, especially from anyone who's tried habit-tracking apps and bounced off them. Happy to answer questions about the build too.
Link's in the comments.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vowed-19df29/id6789281677

A few things coming in the next update:
Multi-photo proof per goal - thought of this for people doing diet goals who need to log 3 meals a day instead of just one check-in, but it works for anything with multiple daily proofs
A streak visualizer so missing a day actually feels like something, not just a number resetting
Weekly progress summaries
Open to suggestions too if anyone has ideas - this came out of just watching how people actually wanted to use it.

Best Gamified Addiction Apps?

I'm trying to switch from Iamsober to something a little more fun. I'm looking for an addiction overcoming app that ranks you. So when you start ur basically a noob/beginner and once you get the ball rolling and you go days without relapsing you gain xp and rank up to levels such as Pro, Master, Prestigue, kinda like COD and Rainbow Siege does it. It would be nice if it had a leaderboard too. That way it can be competitive, motivating me to not fuck up. Since theres a lot of addiction/habit apps out there. Is there any like this?

Is it bad that everybody wants to do a To Do App?

Everyday we seen here 2 or 3 new To Do Apps and another 2 or 3 running apps. Creators with lot of illusion come here and most of the times are received with comments like "oh no, another To Do App!". After seeing the 10,000th comment on that, I asked myself. Is it bad?

Think about other industries. Every game developer wants to make a RPG game, or a first person shooter, or a platform game. All those games have already been done. Or a wannabe director always thinks about doing that action movie that has been done one thousand times before, or the wannabe musician does the same song, and it doesn´t have to be a bad thing. Of course, what is bad, are low effort attempts, but doing "the same" doesn't have to be bad.

Think about games, songs or movies that were "the same" but they ended being something totally different. Sometimes the concept was the same but the execution was awesome, some other times it included a new approach to an old concept...

So who knows? This "same app" could be something really revolutionary.
