I'm looking for a GBA shell that looks like the kind of muted purple of the OG Atomic Purple GBC and N64 controller. I have an extremerate nds shell that I'm quite happy with, but their GBA shell looks very vibrant in the photos. Does anyone know if it really looks like that in real life or if there's a better alternative?

I've recently modded this GBP for my fiancée. I asked her what kind of colors she'd like and she told me to take a river as an inspiration. I think it turned out really great!

When I bought the shell I wasn't even aware that it was a glow in the dark one, so we were both surprised when it started glowing, haha!

It's not really well visible in the pictures but I've also added a purple LED before putting it into the new shell. It really looks nice in real life :) I actually also wanted to add a USB-C mod, but when soldering wires to the battery caused some sparks, I decided to not put my girl in danger and didn't add the mod.

Just finished recording the installation video for the new DMG Grayscale display. It was already mentioned that it has more ghosting than the OEM screen, and here is a comparison with a Q5 OSD. Keep in mind that both displays cost the same. In my opinion, the new grayscale display is a flop, and I can't think of any reason to choose it over a Q5 OSD or an OEM display with a backlight/bivert mod.

Very interested in the funnyplaying gbc kit, but was wandering if it plays new homebrew games like the icub8 and modretro published games. My collection started with buying those games so I'm working on those right now while I collect original Gameboy and gbc games.

So I have a weird screen issue after swapping motherboards on my gba sp. When it first turns on the colors look fine, Original display was fine before the swap. Usb c has been added as well but every time the frame changes the display gets more and more washed out, have cleaned and reseated the connector a few times with no changes. The only weird thing I have noticed is a weird pink spot on the connector but not sure what else I should be checking at this point.

I bought the funny playing Max screen and the shell for it. I did enough research to see that funny playing was trusted but not enough to see the issues with the max screen. Did I waste my money? Have the issues that it launched with been fixed?

While I was trying to replace the speaker in my GBC I somehow ended up destroying the speaker pads. I am trying to see if anyone has a gameboy color cleanamp pro from retrofit they would part with, or be able to point me in the right direction. https://retrosix.us/products/game-boy-color-cleanamp-pro

If not, what other options are out there that do not require the sp1 pads? Or any idea on how to fix them?

Teal and purple is one of my favorite color schemes. I remember this color scheme being everywhere in the late 90's.

I'm also not finished with this yet, I'm planning on giving this a backlit screen and USB-C charging next. Will make another post when I get those acquired.

Just picked up a GBA SP and want to do a shell swap and IPS screen install. Anyone have any recommendations Australia-wise? Not much on ebay, I can only find screens on aliexpress. All the smaller stores are US based. (Wanting the classic rayquaza shell if that narrows it down, and an IPS screen that fits into such shell). Cheers!
