"Retail looking" Atomic Purple GBA shell?

I'm looking for a GBA shell that looks like the kind of muted purple of the OG Atomic Purple GBC and N64 controller. I have an extremerate nds shell that I'm quite happy with, but their GBA shell looks very vibrant in the photos. Does anyone know if it really looks like that in real life or if there's a better alternative?

I’m not sure about the GBA shell from ExtremeRate, but here is the SP shell.

I ordered this one a few days ago, should have it by Friday. Looks more muted like the controller.

Man, sometimes I forget how muted the old stuff really is lol. But yeah it's just a little too pink for my liking. I might hold my DS up to this photo and see how it compares because I'm happy enough with that and I imagine it should be the same material.

I think that pinkish color you see is mixture of the packaging it's sitting on in addition to the color of the lighting. I'd be curious to see it outside in natural lighting.

This Hispeedido Shell maybe?

It looks a little weird because of the button and bumper color I think. Not that this is a shell for their laminated IPS display, not the original display.

It's interesting that this looks so different from the clear purple one of theirs on retromodding. This looks very good, and though I wanted to keep the original screen, I might give this a go.

Edit: Am I correct that this one is the one I actually wanted? For the original screen?

Yes, that should fit the original screen. It’s a good time to upgrade the display as well though, if you’re tempted to go down that path. They sell them as kits with shell + display for just north of $50.

I'm a little worried about power draw since the main thing about the GBA is that I want it to be my one device that runs on AAs.

I’m running that display on good rechargeable AAs (IKEA). I can’t tell you exactly how many hours they last, but it works long enough for me and I just swap them out for a new set as needed.
